i have abandoned any idea of homework and am also watching movie on laptop, but drinking bourbon instead of wine.

I think it may be required to obtain a wee nip of scotch tomorrow, since my dwellings are entirely scotch-free tonight.

I think I'm officially sick of gin.

saw "snow angels," explored the upscale family-friendly bleakness of downtwon bethesda, now drinking tea and looking up "scottsboro boys" and "catamite" on wikipedia

worked but my mom came to the show and i got to show her backstage. i sat in my booth at the back of the floor with these three druuuuuuunk people who tried to talk about kandinsky and post-Balanchine american choreography but mostly had to focus on trying not to fall out of their chairs

snow angels was pretty good. it reminded me a little bit of bubble and a little bit of the ice storm. all of 'em have the problem of "well here's this slice of desperate unhappiness in the middle of the richest country in the world, but the narrative structure requires a body count."

like the only storyline anybody ever thinks we want to hear or read or see about flyover country is la mort surprise

sam rockwell is fucking brilliant and beckinsale manages to not completely fuck it all up

went with pp and kid to outback to immerse her in the closest thing weve got to australian culture (ha). heard myself pronouncing aussie as "ossie" instead of "ozzie" when ordering the "aussie chips", which were really bad. ordered steak medium and got medium rare which is exactly the outcome i anticipated. came home, put the kid to bed. got the rest of the tags on gta:sa, won 12:1 longshot at offtrack betting on the first try then failed five times at the bmx challenge before giving up. read infantcide thread and considered hipstercide (justifiable on grounds of social retardation obv) and now its 1:31am and pp is about to make cj jump off a really tall los santos skyscraper sans parachute. oh wait, he put the parachute on.

outback steakhouse is always a concession meal, but it is one i have found myself making more than once a year

watched "1408" with visiting high school friend and some other people, heard some really intense gossip about said friend (actually pretty exciting saturday night for me)

the best things on outback's menu are the burgers

i didnt even see the burgers. i asked for the ribeye. i probably wouldnt have if id known the waitress would sit herself down in the booth between beatrice and I to tell me how they have three types of ribeye - ribeye, chargrilled ribeye and the limited edition 20th anniversary 24 hour marinated flame grilled ribeye.

it reminded me of this old man sitting in the booth next to us a few years ago at ihop. he looked 90 something and like the clock was about to run out. he asked for pancakes and the waitress started with the "blueberry? strawberry?" "PANCAKES" "with eggs? bacon? ham?". looking at his wife "I JUST WANT PANCAKES." I think about that guy all the time.

anyway, i really like that weird bread they have at outback. a butter knife wouldnt go astray though.

here the real question: do the burgers have sliced beets on them?

Completely fucked-up sleep schedule here, must have been due to the work week and my damn alarm being on this morning for no good reason -- I spent nearly all the time between 5 pm and now asleep and now feel restless. Bah.

Don't get paid 'til Monday, mates and gf all out on piss, having some popcorn to cheer me up. Could have borrowed £50, but this will only mean being short again this time next month. Feels weird, cause I always at least go to the local spoonies.

Yeah I'm having money problems meself. Which isn't actually all that common for me, so it feels strange to suddenly have to skimp on groceries, for one thing. *shrugs* I'll survive, though. Just no more drunken iTunes madness, etc.

Blew a bunch of dough at Amoeba and the CLUI bookstore this afternoon, so I'm in for the night. Current entertainment options:

- 2 x CD of Holly & The Italians demos and unreleased tracks (purchased at Amoeba)
- Last episode of Ashes To Ashes (finished downloading when I was out)
- Grey Gardens and random episodes of Futurama sitting on the Tivo
- Moog Moogerfooger analog delay pedal that I need to get up to speed on
