Goblin most definitely in the Dariory.

Chewshabadoo, Thursday, 7 November 2013 17:50 (twelve years ago)

Chewshabadoo, Thursday, 7 November 2013 17:51 (twelve years ago)

how did yr london gig go?

gotta lol geir (NickB), Thursday, 7 November 2013 17:58 (twelve years ago)

Cheers!

Night was loads of fun! Doing another one on December 14th.

Chewshabadoo, Thursday, 7 November 2013 19:14 (twelve years ago)

I am flipping exhausted. COOS was ace for the most part, but I'm glad it's done. Think my highlights were Hiroshi Hasegawa & Reiko.A, Poloumi Desai, Roman Nose, CM von Hausswolff & Michael Esposito, Woven Skull and Andy Guhl, though there was loads of other stuff worth a mention, honestly. Also really nice to hang with you over the weekend, Nick.

Not sure if I'm going to make it to Holter, apparently we didn't get tickets already and I was out tonight for a 6-hour band practice, sooooo... I know I'll regret it if I miss her, though.

emil.y, Tuesday, 12 November 2013 03:20 (twelve years ago)

Yeah great event, thanks for putting up w/ me! Very tired too, my batteries were really starting to run down on Sunday. My dirty, shameful secret is that I kept having to go and sit down in a quiet corner and listen to rock music underneath my hood. Think my favourite things were Jooklo Duo, Youngs/Fowler/Campbell, Occult Hand, Andie Brown & Sharon Gal, and yes Hasegawa & (especially) Reiko Azuma, but my favourite set was DDAA who I had totally never heard of but they seem to have been going forever, check this out:

gotta lol geir (NickB), Tuesday, 12 November 2013 14:24 (twelve years ago)

Oh Bridget Hayden was great too, but that was definitely some sort of aural comfort food for me!

gotta lol geir (NickB), Tuesday, 12 November 2013 14:25 (twelve years ago)

That DDAA video just there is like a french This Heat or something, dunno why I didn't know those folks before

gotta lol geir (NickB), Tuesday, 12 November 2013 14:30 (twelve years ago)

Ah, yeah, they were the ones we missed the majority of. Bums. I will check out their vids/records.

emil.y, Tuesday, 12 November 2013 15:08 (twelve years ago)

Feel like I missed a cracker. Going to Plurals at Cowley on Friday probably if anyone fancies,

Chewshabadoo, Tuesday, 12 November 2013 18:38 (twelve years ago)

I would be up or doing that, but I have the kids all weekend long as payback for me being a dirty stop-out. Couple of other cool things I'll be missing: La Atlanta with a live soundtrack by Esben & the Witch at the Duke of Yorks late late on Friday, Jodorowsky's Dune documentary at the Komedia on Saturday. Oh well...

Julia Holter was good tonight. Four piece band of cello, violin, drums and sax plus her on keyboards. None of the overt weirdness of the first album on display, just all songy ones played in a way that made me think a little of Owen P... The band were all very talented and JH was ever so charming, so it was all very pleasant and she does jave some great songs too but for some reason I didn't really connect with it. Omg COOS has ruined normal music for me! Or maybe it was just tiredness. First time I've seen proper music at the Komedia (ie not cabaret garbage) and it didn't really help the vibe much to be sat round tables with people going in and out for nibbles and shit while I was trying to watch the band. So yeah, nice but not amaaaaazing.

Oh shit my mind is crumbling, I meant 'La Antena':

but my heart is full of woah (NickB), Wednesday, 20 November 2013 08:58 (twelve years ago)

I'm going bowling in Crawley on Thursday, then seeing Napalm Death destroy a sound system in Bexhill on the Friday. Living the varied utopian dream large in that Sussex every damn day.

ineloquentwow (Craigo Boingo), Friday, 22 November 2013 08:46 (twelve years ago)

And then we're having people over to watch traumatic nuclear apocalypse films on Saturday. Can't forget that.

emil.y, Friday, 22 November 2013 10:53 (twelve years ago)

I'm sure there was a Napalm Death album called 'From Bowlplex To Obliteration'

Papa Roachford (NickB), Friday, 22 November 2013 11:21 (twelve years ago)

So thrash, WOW, so boom

ineloquentwow (Craigo Boingo), Saturday, 23 November 2013 01:58 (twelve years ago)

space bl00ps (NickB), Tuesday, 26 November 2013 13:08 (twelve years ago)

emil.y, Tuesday, 26 November 2013 13:18 (twelve years ago)

I've had some interest from our friend the Lou Barlow mewling man-baby, if you don't mind going with him. ^__^

He's not quite decided yet, though.

emil.y, Tuesday, 26 November 2013 14:12 (twelve years ago)

ha! *blushes*

space bl00ps (NickB), Tuesday, 26 November 2013 14:54 (twelve years ago)

did LBMMB get back to you on the ticket e? if not i will tweet the sheet out of it instead

space bl00ps (NickB), Thursday, 28 November 2013 10:44 (twelve years ago)

Ah, yes, this got a bit more complicated, as another friend announced she had two spare tickets too. I think all three have been bagsied now, though, if that's okay.

emil.y, Thursday, 28 November 2013 15:11 (twelve years ago)

yeah no that's cool!

think i'm going to go and spend the day wandering about in h☆stings but i'll probably find a pub in bexhill after that for beer and chips. follow me on twitter if you like and we can swap phone nos. - i'm @Mount_Analogue - otherwise i'll see you at the dlwp @ 7.45-ish?

exciting vampire castle (NickB), Thursday, 28 November 2013 15:28 (twelve years ago)

Sounds good, followed. My phone is a heap of crumbling shit, though, I mostly operate as if I don't have one these days. But I'll see if I can get it working.

emil.y, Thursday, 28 November 2013 15:47 (twelve years ago)

oh wow, you must be the one person i know that i won't have to hide my 1,000 yr old nokia from in embarrassment. even my kids laugh at it

exciting vampire castle (NickB), Thursday, 28 November 2013 15:50 (twelve years ago)

My phone is a ten-year old Tesco phone. It has little pawprints on the screen when it turns on. It can hold about 40 text messages before its memory is full.

Oh dear.

emil.y, Thursday, 28 November 2013 15:54 (twelve years ago)

alright alright, stop showing off!

exciting vampire castle (NickB), Thursday, 28 November 2013 15:57 (twelve years ago)

^__^

emil.y, Thursday, 28 November 2013 16:01 (twelve years ago)

Is this tomorrow? I’m going to get a train to Rye for ATP either half past noon or one if you’re on either of those?

Chewshabadoo, Thursday, 28 November 2013 18:50 (twelve years ago)

hoping to get there a little earlier in the day, but will give you a buzz if i end up running a bit late. have a great time at atp though and DON'T MISS LOOP!

exciting vampire castle (NickB), Thursday, 28 November 2013 21:04 (twelve years ago)

Here are the times for Keith Harrison’s and Napalm Death’s Bustleholme tomorrow night.

Doors 7.00pm
Napalm Death ‘Bustleholme’ 8.00pm
Finish 9.10pm approx.

exciting vampire castle (NickB), Thursday, 28 November 2013 21:18 (twelve years ago)

Ah shit, it starts dead on eight? I thought doors were eight. Will have to get an earlier train than I was planning.

emil.y, Thursday, 28 November 2013 21:49 (twelve years ago)

You coming on Saturday, Nick?

emil.y, Wednesday, 4 December 2013 21:56 (twelve years ago)

exciting vampire castle (NickB), Wednesday, 4 December 2013 22:08 (twelve years ago)

Awww, shame.

emil.y, Wednesday, 4 December 2013 22:14 (twelve years ago)

ha, i know right?

exciting vampire castle (NickB), Wednesday, 4 December 2013 22:21 (twelve years ago)

What's the most inappropriate cover version I can play at this thing?

(The answer is probably that ilxor's Tindersticks-esque version of 'I Kill Everything I Fuck', tbh)

emil.y, Wednesday, 4 December 2013 22:24 (twelve years ago)

remind me what the concept is?
