I am so not "getting" this Instagram thing / do you guys want to look at each others pictures?

Just got a new (2 month old) kitten, so i feel it is my civic duty to post images of him cutely snoozing on instagram.

i mostly post pictures of old junk i found while going through my old junk, pictures of my dogs, food i made, lol signs. if anyone finds that amusing, it's ok with me. if not, that's ok too.

International Space Station and NASA both have instagrams.

In my world, lots of people use Twitter, and I'm only dimly aware that Instagram still exists except as "that thing Facebook bought before WhatsApp"

so I am newcomer to the Instagram thang and I have a boring tech question oh no

the app on my iPhone keeps wanting me to connect my camera roll to my instagram account

I haven't done this yet because I'm afraid that it's just going to put everything in my camera roll immediately up onto instagram and I don't want to share every pic I've ever taken because some of them are just way ugly or boring or, ahem, private etc.

is there a way to connect the camera roll to instagram but to still allow me as the user to determine which pics flow there and which don't? I hope there is, but for now I'm using a cumbersome app called Gramblr to upload pics from a computer to Instagram so that I can be more selective/more of an editor

IG will only post what you want, it just needs to ask permission to access that part of your phone first

yeah it's just so you don't have to use the camera in IG, you can just take pics like normal and then use IG to upload and edit them if/when you want

You couldn't search it before.

You could click a location if you saw it on a pic, but you couldn't query it.
