you heard that tequila bottle smash on the rocks, man! plus all the teary, no makeup, fetal position marissa scenes in the promo for next week and OMG! she doesnt want to do anything for valentines day! he must be dead! either way, that operation was a waste of non-jewish fake bar miztvah money, goddammit!

OC forecast:

i can feel a seth + marissa romp-a-roo on the horizon. marissa and whathisface are on thin ice as it is. now johnny is deadybones (probably), marissa will boohoo for an episode and whathisface will try to help but, man, he cant understand her pain! meanwhile, seth is getting high all the time and summer thinks thats 'ew'. chance meeting between seth and marissa on the pier = sex on the beach and more teen angst than you can shake a surfboard at.

OC wish scene:

johnny's mom blames OC crew for johnny's demise and subsequently gets all stabby with an uninvolved character. probably kirsten.

how many eps left?

have ryan and marissa, or for that matter seth and summer, had sex since the first season? what the hell?

Yeah, I think that some of the writers must've quit or just gotten bored or into coke&hollywood or something. I can think of several simple ways the pot issue could've been dealt with in a more entertaining (second-season) way. This show has lost its pacing really, and I'm kind of sad about it.

Season 2 seemed bad at the time, but it was definitely more interesting than this season. I look back fondly on Marissa's days of Sappho and cheap beer.

did you guys notice the "I'm not listening to them anymore" comment with regards to death cab for cutie after they played them on the valley(the fictional tv show that the oc characthers watch). surely that was them poking fun at people who say those kind of things when after their favorite indie bands play on the oc.

and i'm getting so fucking tired of ryan and marissa constantly having fights, and they're always so stupid! i really want them to be happy together :)

I think they should spend less time making self-conscious pokes at their position in the pop-culture landscape and more time writing plots and characters that don't suck.

It was great how all the parents didn't seem too concerned that their children had watched a boy fall off a cliff to his death.

And how quickly Ryan was ready to get it on. Marissa was OTM for the first time ever with the "You're glad he's dead! And now you're horny!" line - which just sent Ryan into the arms of the hot artsy girl. With any luck they'll stick to the path of trashiness, I'm tired of all the po-faced stuff lately.

I'm glad the Marissa's younger sister is gone - how did no one comment on the creep-factor of the high-school senior surfer making out with a 14-year old?

I think the woman from Serenity has gotten a nose job or just lost a bunch of weight, neither of which was a good decision.

They cast him well - he just looks dislikable. Sadie's definitely a step up from Marissa, but you know that it's going to come back to some kind of Ryan/Marissa drama in the end.

Ryan/Marissa drama is so dumb - there has never been a spark, only brooding and eck. okay okay, and as silly as this show is, I think it does show some interesting teenage-like relationship developments - mostly in how Ryan gets along with girls - it's kind of different that.

Marissa totally deserves to get hot and heavy with tiger-cub guy who's already lamenting his lost youth at 19. They can be all Drama Together.

7.44 million people tuned in, which is pretty crap when you consider that it came on right after American Idol BUT it is an improvement for this season though cause the ratings have been around 5 million until the last episode.

i really liked last nights episode. i want them to find out sandy's boy partner has been shooting coke all this time.
im also intrigued by the line from that guy who keeps following marissa around. something like 'if you want to take a break from whats going on in your head, ive got something'. i really loved when he was outside he trailer and she came home and did that almost closed the door then pushed it wide open move like 'fuck it, lets fuck.' best acting from mischa yet.

the whole thing with Ryan and Jess, the blonde girl, was boring and predictable though. And holy crap, do teenage couples really ever in real life lose their sex drive??? I MEAN O COME ON. Find one better idea for plotline, srsly. (okay, some might, I understand that anything is possible, but still... IT"S TV>)

haha, yes, it was the boffing episode! like the writers/producers suddenly realized "holy shit, this is a show about teenagers (mostly) and they haven't been having sex and they even live in California omg wtf what the HELL were we thinking?? how will we redeem ourselves??" Hence, this. I get the feeling that producer guy was maybe going through a dry spell, luv-wise. And now he's back on the horse. good for him.

OHGOD that would've been the best! Why is this show trying to be PC this season (and, well, some of last season too, i suppose), that's what I want to know. btwn the pot-smoking ohnoes and the no sex and ryan not wanting to fite anymore and people going off to brown, it's become a show written by PARENTS. That was a good episode! I mean, the "dates" that Ryan and Sadie kept having were hilarious in their distance from reality, with her inexplicably running off after 5 minutes and Ryan, yes, being SO dumb, but I don't look to this show for reality. + Julie back in a mansion AND insulting the staff, Marissa back on the sauce AND doing "bumps"!! haha, keep it up, The O.C.

The writing on this show is so lazy. Yeah, yeah, soap opera, etc., but why didn't Sandy just add on two sentences ("It wasn't me." + "I'm trying to punish the guy who did it.") and solve everything? Why did Cohen do the dumbest thing possible? Cheap drama is boring.

i have no idea whats going on with sandy and matt right now. ive been watching but i think my mind is just blanking out those parts. all i can tell is that sandy is doing something semi-shady and kirstens pissed because he is turning into her father. i dont know why matt is beat up or why the girly matt was chasing just disappeared. is that her father Sandy is threatening to sic the DA onto?
the seth thing, i dont know. i guess they have to stretch the drama out til the end of the season. obviously, he'll confess to summer and his parents and summer will be all 'oh cohen, you lied for me again! youre such a sweet goofball!' and sandy will be all 'yay now you can go to berkeley!' and summer will be all 'im going whereever youre going cohen you sweet goofball!' and then marissa and ryan will be all 'hey! what a coincidence! we're going to berkeley too!' see you in september.

i think im going to miss taylor.

The Sandy and Matt plotline is thus: Matt was dating Maya, the daughter of the business guy with the inadequate forehand. But Sandy pressured Maya to talk to her father about their hospital proposal. She did, and they got the hospital, and she broke up with Matt for "using" her. The father was so irate at Matt for hurting his precious baby girl that he told Sandy to fire Matt or the hospital deal was off. Sandy fired Matt, Matt threatened to blow the whistle on both Sandy and the other business guy, and Sandy unwisely went to the business guy and said "Hey, Matt says you're awash in criminal activities, that's not true, is it?" Guy says no, of course not, let me take care of silly misguided Matt. Cue Matt getting his face and big-screen TV smashed in by goons.

I hate myself for knowing all this.

I wonder if the kids are even going to get as far as Berkeley before the producers yank them back and send them to a local college. Otherwise how are they going to keep Julie/Sandy/Kirsten involved?
