Show has really grown on me. Great assessment in the New Yorker.

Basically underscoring this show's consistency, intelligence, subversiveness and the like, while also noting how under the radar it's essentially remained.

Josh in Chicago, Friday, 8 November 2013 20:32 (twelve years ago)

it is weird to me that so few people watch/know about it. I'm always surprised when friends have never heard of it.

Was just in Philly, and there was a pretty visible "Sunny" souvenir presence in the airport. Like being the setting of the show is something to be proud of!

Rewatching season 3 right now, didn't realise first time round quite how beautifully plotted some of the episodes are! The best ones have three or four different interweaving storylines, all of which are resolved without feeling rushed, all in less than 25 minutes. The mafia two-parter is pretty much a masterpiece in this regard.

the joke should be over once the kid is eaten. (chap), Tuesday, 9 December 2014 02:32 (eleven years ago)

no one saw season premier last night...?

Οὖτις, Friday, 16 January 2015 00:20 (eleven years ago)

it was pretty weak honestly.

:(

Οὖτις, Friday, 16 January 2015 00:23 (eleven years ago)

Yeah I don't have particularly high hopes, last season had maybe four good episodes tops.

the joke should be over once the kid is eaten. (chap), Friday, 16 January 2015 00:24 (eleven years ago)

eh Flowers For Charlie and The Gang Tries Desperately to Win an Award were some best ever type episodes imo

Οὖτις, Friday, 16 January 2015 00:27 (eleven years ago)

Last nights episode was pretty blah. Decent enough plot but just not super funny. Dee trying to keep the stewardess away was pretty great though.

pelvic slang (GOTT PUNCH II HAWKWINDZ), Friday, 16 January 2015 01:42 (eleven years ago)

Actually it was OK, certainly not a classic but not bad at all.

only part i really loled at was dee and charlie in the airport at the end

lag∞n, Tuesday, 20 January 2015 21:37 (eleven years ago)

not a stellar episode but chuckleworthy imo

Οὖτις, Tuesday, 20 January 2015 21:43 (eleven years ago)

Charlie and Dee being plastered is always at least a bit funny.

I think last night's was the one directed by Howard stern staffer JD Harmeyer.

Y'all are gonna want to see episode 4, "Charlie Work"

Simon H., Sunday, 25 January 2015 18:32 (eleven years ago)

Was that a Birdman parody? Darn quick off the mark if so!

the joke should be over once the kid is eaten. (chap), Thursday, 5 February 2015 21:12 (eleven years ago)

this was a clever episode and yet I didn't really laugh that much

Οὖτις, Thursday, 5 February 2015 21:13 (eleven years ago)

Yeah ditto. The crudest gag (Frank painting himself black by degrees) also the funniest.

the joke should be over once the kid is eaten. (chap), Thursday, 5 February 2015 21:43 (eleven years ago)

Frank imitating the monoxide detector was kind of amazing.

their slam poetry and dennises reaction slayed me

lag∞n, Saturday, 21 February 2015 02:54 (eleven years ago)

this episode was absolutely peak dennis, up there with "the implication" speech.

Clay, Saturday, 21 February 2015 03:34 (eleven years ago)

conversation between charlie and his mum in the latest episode had me buckled.

||||||||, Wednesday, 4 March 2015 13:25 (eleven years ago)

A fairly average episode overall but yeah that was killer. Also mac's dad always good value.

Remind me which is his "implication" speech?
