ok

Ally C (Ally C), Thursday, 22 September 2005 11:37 (twenty years ago)

I'd forgotten about him. Yes please.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 22 September 2005 12:07 (twenty years ago)

who?
hello

dahlin (dahlin), Thursday, 22 September 2005 17:50 (twenty years ago)

Remember we were talking about all going out for a meal together, Glasgow people? We should do this. I propose next Saturday, since it's just after payday. And not a school night. And I'm not doing anything except celebrating the day after my last day at work. So, let's eat, Glasgow.

Someone suggest a restaurant because I never go out in Glasgow anymore.

ailsa (ailsa), Thursday, 22 September 2005 18:11 (twenty years ago)

There's alext! I was talking about him today.

Mädchen (Madchen), Thursday, 22 September 2005 18:16 (twenty years ago)

RJG, sorry about that, my computer just blew up. It's a bit flaky at the moment. On the laptop now, but need to sort out instant messaging!

KeefW (kmw), Thursday, 22 September 2005 18:25 (twenty years ago)

I may be able to make next Saturday, but it seems a little doubtful. Still, it is a good idea whether I can or not.

Ally C (Ally C), Thursday, 22 September 2005 18:28 (twenty years ago)

: )

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 22 September 2005 18:29 (twenty years ago)

Next week I am going to a wedding on Monday, we are chucking a party at work on Thursday before me and the boss leave, then going out for a meal with my immediate colleagues, and on Friday we have a proper leaving do with all my other colleagues. So more booze and food will be just what I need by Saturday.

Doesn't have to be next Saturday, but people say if you want to go and recommend restaurants and we'll take it from there.

ailsa (ailsa), Thursday, 22 September 2005 18:34 (twenty years ago)

Dunkin' Donuts

KeefW (kmw), Thursday, 22 September 2005 18:37 (twenty years ago)

Next Friday, I am going to Dublin!

Mädchen (Madchen), Thursday, 22 September 2005 18:43 (twenty years ago)

night-time Madchen on ILE, hura hura.

stet (stet), Thursday, 22 September 2005 18:45 (twenty years ago)

It would be totally awesome to get Dicky Betts on ilx. He could show Keef how to like play all his guitars & stuff.

Mooro (Mooro), Thursday, 22 September 2005 18:47 (twenty years ago)

Who's Dicky Betts?

KeefW (kmw), Thursday, 22 September 2005 19:00 (twenty years ago)

Plays the guitar on the Top Gear theme tune (or at least their theme when they still used the original Allman Brothers version of the tune 'Jessica')

Mooro (Mooro), Thursday, 22 September 2005 19:06 (twenty years ago)

Oh right, yeah. I know it. I've got it actually. I like the photo on the sleeve of that record. Looks like me when I was a kid. Because it looks like a small kid.

KeefW (kmw), Thursday, 22 September 2005 19:07 (twenty years ago)

I have heard the latest work by Betts is quite something. If somebody wanted to email it to me, I would be a happy bunny.

Mädchen (Madchen), Thursday, 22 September 2005 19:41 (twenty years ago)

Now I am in gainful employment I'd be up for a meal. How about the Cossachok for goulash and vodka? And it's very near Mono for further boozy fun...

Stew (stew s), Thursday, 22 September 2005 21:33 (twenty years ago)

Hey, that sounds good!

ailsa (ailsa), Thursday, 22 September 2005 21:39 (twenty years ago)

Despite knowing where both venues are, I can do neither. (Although I am not 'of Glasgow' anyway)

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Thursday, 22 September 2005 22:11 (twenty years ago)

Goulash is hardly good Russian fayre. However, the borshch and khachapuri are very good, as is the range of vodkas on sale. I'll check my shifts.

scotstvo (scotstvo), Thursday, 22 September 2005 22:28 (twenty years ago)

Mmmm, borschch. What's khachapuri?

Stew (stew s), Thursday, 22 September 2005 22:31 (twenty years ago)

Ah, now I know. Georgian cheese bread...

Stew (stew s), Thursday, 22 September 2005 22:33 (twenty years ago)

And well worth it too. It seems I'm supposed to be working on Saturday, but I'm about due a weekend off, so I may try and wangle that.

scotstvo (scotstvo), Thursday, 22 September 2005 22:49 (twenty years ago)

I have £70 to last me until next Thursday and that must include some food shopping and some petrol! Don't go eating Russian this weekend, pleeeeease!

Tim (Tim), Friday, 23 September 2005 12:53 (twenty years ago)

i read this thread in the misguided hope that everyone will be talking abt the instal fest

Ward Fowler (Ward Fowler), Friday, 23 September 2005 13:07 (twenty years ago)

Do you mean read or read?

I hate instal.

Cathy (Cathy), Friday, 23 September 2005 13:08 (twenty years ago)

hate is a strong word

Ward Fowler (Ward Fowler), Friday, 23 September 2005 13:17 (twenty years ago)

I have £70 to last me until next Thursday and that must include some food shopping and some petrol! Don't go eating Russian this weekend, pleeeeease!

b-b-but it's next saturday, isn't it?

either way, i cannae make it (arran this weekend, rhodes next weekend. ooh, and skye last weekend. it's, er, "island-hopping". i think.)

i would, however, be up for stuffing my face with beetroot and vodka at some point in the future.

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Friday, 23 September 2005 13:26 (twenty years ago)

I don't know about russian food

RJG (RJG), Friday, 23 September 2005 13:26 (twenty years ago)

You could learn

Onimo (GerryNemo), Friday, 23 September 2005 13:28 (twenty years ago)

Dublin next weekend. Ireland hopping.

Mädchen (Madchen), Friday, 23 September 2005 13:31 (twenty years ago)

the theory, perhaps

RJG (RJG), Friday, 23 September 2005 13:31 (twenty years ago)

I am moving to glasgow next weekend. Can someone summarise this entire thread for me. 'tis very long.

hmmm (hmmm), Friday, 23 September 2005 13:35 (twenty years ago)

asshoppers need not apply

RJG (RJG), Friday, 23 September 2005 13:37 (twenty years ago)

You are such a meanie.

Mädchen (Madchen), Friday, 23 September 2005 13:38 (twenty years ago)

:' (

RJG (RJG), Friday, 23 September 2005 13:38 (twenty years ago)

don't worry, hmmm, i ass-hopped my way in here and i think i got away with it.

see you at a FAP soon, then, i guess!

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Friday, 23 September 2005 13:44 (twenty years ago)

a better summary would be "four pints of guinness, six bottles of lager, three pints of lager, a vodka and cranberry juice and a gin and orange for stet."

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Friday, 23 September 2005 13:45 (twenty years ago)

We went to a Russian restaurant in Exeter. OMG THE PORTION SIZES.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Friday, 23 September 2005 13:45 (twenty years ago)

Ordinary, Medium, Gigantic?

Onimo (GerryNemo), Friday, 23 September 2005 13:48 (twenty years ago)

Gigantic. Starter at least as big as an average main course.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Friday, 23 September 2005 13:50 (twenty years ago)

I went to cineworld, on wednesday, to see howl's moving castle, and had a very small laugh at the fountain drinks cup sizes

children's (big), regular (huge), large (very gigantic)

maybe it's been longer, since I last went to the cinema, than I had thought

RJG (RJG), Friday, 23 September 2005 13:51 (twenty years ago)

there was some talk of gin and orange?

stet (stet), Friday, 23 September 2005 14:02 (twenty years ago)

is howl's moving castle good, rjg?

stet (stet), Friday, 23 September 2005 14:03 (twenty years ago)

I liked it, a lot

RJG (RJG), Friday, 23 September 2005 14:04 (twenty years ago)

I don't like cineworld because the popcorn cartons say salty on one side and sweet on the other and it's all confusing. Lords of Dogtown was pretty good.

Mädchen (Madchen), Friday, 23 September 2005 14:07 (twenty years ago)

I asked ally out, to the cinema, last night, to see it, but he had "band practice"

I wish he'd bothered to make up a believable excuse
