Red 2 came and went three months ago. the next sequel in his queue, Sin City: A Dame To Kill For, is ten months away.

Oh weird I swear I saw a preview for it a month ago.

it was originally supposed to come out in october but they pushed it back to april

Red 2 was bad? I didn't even see Red until this year, and liked it, so hearing that is a drag.

first one was fun - sequel is the opposite of fun

the more i think about it, the more irritating it is that they did a pretty decent parody of Miley's video about the gov't shutdown, AND THEN felt the need to do a cold open that shoehorned Miley at the VMAs and the shutdown into the same labored premise.

was def loling @ this but idk i have reservations

i loved it but wondered how many ppl watching were loving it. also loved the possibility that somewhere stephen a smith was feeling hurt and neglected.

Before this ep I was just kinda like "eh Miley whatever" and then by the end of it I was like "oh hey I think I rly like this girl a lot"

For a young dumb 20 year old she is a little more intelligent and self aware and willfully self-mocking than most other young dumb 20 year olds!

Weekend Update seemed abnormally hilarious to me tonight. Go figure. McDonald's drive-thru joke was the. best.

A lot of the sketches this season seem shorter than usual. Given that one the most frequent and longstanding criticisms of the show is that sketches drag on too long, beat a joke into the ground, etc., that's not necessarily a bad thing. But some of them also seem underdeveloped and end sort of arbitrarily.

I could be wrong about the length, btw. The actual number of sketches seems to be in line with last season, though with 12 (including cold open, monologue, and Weekend Update), last night's episode was at the upper end.

the centaur sketch being really short was its saving grace. in 2002 that thing would've been 15 minutes.

although i kinda don't wanna see any centaur-themed SNL sketch that doesn't involve Walken and Parnell

at least they're not doing weekly Mr Pepper esque sketches these days

what non-celeb impression running characters/sketches do they have at this point from the returning cast? Moynihan's got Drunk Uncle/secondhand news guy and I guess last night was the first time the "i miss my little kitty cat" guy got a new sketch since the first, he and Cecily have the obnoxious McDonald's duo, there's the ex-porn stars...I can't think of anything Kenan's got assuming they won't do 'What Up With That' without Hader/Sudeikis. feel like this could be a nice relatively non-repetitive season as long as they don't run that handful of characters totally into the ground.

kenan's kinda dominating this thing now. mooney's established his little corner already, wouldn't mind if they stopped trying to recreate samberg and let his more adam mckay type shorts just be the digital shorts now (audience reaction to 'boy dance party' suggests no way is lorne gonna stop any look at these silly dances shorts any time soon). him, at&t guy, and noel wells the only new ppl to have made much of an impression on me so far, in the sense of establishing themselves and looking like they're gonna hang around. the sketch w/ the seals and willis as some guy who fantasizes himself as some bruce willis character is the only live sketch i can recall really liking the next day.

and man during that boy dance party thing every time they showed willis all i could keep thinking was how long has it been since i went to six flags.

I liked the Gravity/shutdown cold open sketch. Lady Gaga Talk Show was probably my least favorite, mainly because I don't know if that was a good Michael Kors impression or not.

making fun of Gaga five minutes before Katy Perry's performance just seemed like some kind of weird dog whistle to rile up their respective twitter stans

It was not a good Michael Kors impression. As somebody who's probably seen way more seasons of Project Runway than I should have, it seemed like an impression that Willis came up with from being shown a single 5 minute clip and extrapolating from that. There was a bit of similarity, but mostly no good.
