the whole calling the cops thing was a calculated gambit to focus attention on NH, he wants a head start traveling to the last place they expect to see him, NM, prolly half the ppl working his case are en route to NH now

this is nonsense. he calls the cops and then sits and waits and watches tv... why would he do that if he was setting a trap and then planning to run away

so tbh i'm not quite sure what we're supposed to be left with, motivation-wise, for walt at the end of the episode.

nothing indicates he's motivated to go back and find some nazis.

he gives himself up. then watches charlie rose. then visibly gets upset when the schwartzs disavow him.

then he seemingly changes his mind and bails.

are we supposed to believe he's going after them now for disrespecting him one last time?

what other interpretation is there?

felt like this about the 'holding aloft the heisenberg hat' scene too. trying not to be too cynical about this show because it really is the greatest thing i've ever seen but i dunno, part of the fun is picking over it all afterwards.

not a clue and haven't over the past few episodes. really disagree with the comment way way way upthread about the narrative arc for this series being 'predictable'. believable or feasible yeah, but definitely not predictable.

i know it would have made for dull drawn-out tv but i'd liked to have seen how jesse managed to open the grate. looked v difficult, he'd have to shove it up while dangling from one arm? can't picture it as he struggled enough holding on with two. have the writers/producers mentioned about filming this whole sequence in the podcast or anything?

s1ocki, Walt decided to cook meth to get just enough money for his family to survive, but after interacting with the Schwartzes he started to have higher aspirations -- wouldn't let them pay for his treatment, and was insulted by it, and that was the seed of him wanting an empire, imo.

If anything, seeing them sitting on their cash and using it to contribute to a cause that's reparative to the damage meth does to the community is making him want to sit back on the top of his own empire -- his cash. Which is now with the nazis.

I mean, really what does Walt have left other than his money?
