Shall we anticipate the FIFTH SEASON of the AMC series "Breaking Bad"? I think I may.

I don't think they'd spend all that time on Todd doing villain stuff in the finale. This was the episode where you learned how much you want Todd to die and next episode Jesse will kill him.

does anyone even have any sense as to what the tone of the resolution will be, kinda crazy theyve got us here not knowing what way theyre gonna go with it, not plot wise but thematically morally etc

lag∞n, Monday, 23 September 2013 20:53 (twelve years ago)

yeah I would almost put $$$ on Jesse not killing anybody

nihilistic flameout for Walt

Seems they've mostly gone for a sort of evil breeds evil thing, and followed that quite ruthlessly. Big bloodbath next week I'd say.

I was really hoping the Charlie Rose interview would end with him asking "So, now that you're appearing on television making these statements...aren't you worried that the dormant Heisenberg might be watching, and might take some retaliatory action against you?"

and then Elliott and Gretchen registering this, then slinking away from the interview slowly

Neanderthal, Monday, 23 September 2013 21:14 (twelve years ago)

I celebrated yesterday's episode like smoking bud. made for some really inappropriate LOLs when we rewatched Ozymandias.

Didn't Gretchen pretty much say she didn't think Walt was out there? He did ask, and it was kind of implied she thinks he's died of cancer, although she never says cancer

I'm pretty sure her statement was to say that "Walter White" was gone, that whatever was left of the sweet, kind man they knew was gone and replaced by Heisenberg. I don't think she meant he was literally dead.

I also liked Gretchen and Elliott playing faux-naive "oh no any timing between this contribution and the recent Heisenberg news is pure coincidence, in fact we totally didn't think about that, yuk yuk yuk".

walt found out the blue meth is still out there and that his own son will never understand or listen to his point of view... maybe he's going back for the only son who can understand him

the whole calling the cops thing was a calculated gambit to focus attention on NH, he wants a head start traveling to the last place they expect to see him, NM, prolly half the ppl working his case are en route to NH now

rural places do tend to have a one road in / one road out layout tho, this is a suspen of disbe situation we got here

this is nonsense. he calls the cops and then sits and waits and watches tv... why would he do that if he was setting a trap and then planning to run away

socki (s1ocki), Monday, 23 September 2013 23:02 (twelve years ago)

so tbh i'm not quite sure what we're supposed to be left with, motivation-wise, for walt at the end of the episode.

nothing indicates he's motivated to go back and find some nazis.

he gives himself up. then watches charlie rose. then visibly gets upset when the schwartzs disavow him.

then he seemingly changes his mind and bails.

are we supposed to believe he's going after them now for disrespecting him one last time?

what other interpretation is there?

socki (s1ocki), Monday, 23 September 2013 23:03 (twelve years ago)

i think its just more he found his muse again generally

lag∞n, Monday, 23 September 2013 23:12 (twelve years ago)

how walt got his groove back

lag∞n, Monday, 23 September 2013 23:12 (twelve years ago)

well he literally has nothing to live for anymore, might as well just blow up some shit
