anyway this looks good if a little garish but i realized im not seeing lots of the changes because most of my default apple apps are squirreled away in a folder and long since replaced by better versions

can't believe shazam updated to ios7 aesthetics before instagram, smh

lol the default weather is a slightly lamer version of the yahoo weather app

it doesn't seem too weird to me outside of the neon, most every function is still in the same place just without borders and drop shading and junk around it

it feels way more like (modern) android to me, i guess slightly ironically

i already hate trying to catch apps scrolling by in the task manager to fling them up though, just gimme a big x pls

i was proud of myself for figuring out that that was the new app kill action after only a few tries!

slightly annoyed the quick tweet/post to Facebook function has gone from the notification centre, have a list of links posted on twitter directly available in your bookmarks is good tho.

with Autumn Almanac - got a hangover and the motiony stuff is making me feel unwell. more unwell.

I think in settings somewhere you can turn all that off. Under accessibility I think I read.

2 biggest issues I have with it atm:

- rolodexing wheel of minutes on alarm/calendar/etc. has a tendency to stop between actual numbers
- topline (cell reception dots, clock, battery progress bar) needs to have black text in the clock app; white is invisible against the white background

i'm on an ipad mini, but it would certainly look better

i also dropped by an apple store today and the devices i looked at were running ios 6, and i'm gonna guess all of them were. so that change over will probably happen friday when they put the 5cs and 5ss on display

ios 7 on an iphone 4 ... doesn't have that layered parallax effect. I hear people hate it but I kinda wanted to check it out.

Lame: forced me to install the podcast app. I had been just navigating to them through Music.

that change was not this year's change

I was on campus, took like five minutes to download but it died halfway through the update and bricked my phone; restored from backup right as the university wifi died for the afternoon so I couldn't contact the update server rending everything useless for a couple hours. Good times.

So far I really dig this even if just for the quick access to wifi/bluetooth/FLASHLIGHT!/etc. Kind of afraid that separating podcasts from my usual music library is going to be a huge pain but so far I'm pretty pleased.

Still on a 4, I think it's time to finally get a new one when the 5s ships.

they could've refreshed the design to be based on windows 3.1 and I would've welcomed a change

The parallax effect on my iPad's home screen is way more intrusive and annoying than on my iPhone.

paralax is pointless on this.

wow, really not enjoying ios 7 so far. slow transitions, head-spinny zoom effects, really stupid folders. seriously, the folders suck. and parallax wallpaper is just irritating.

Agree big time about the folders. who wants to go into a folder and then have to swipe again smh

having it as an option is fine, but shrinking the first 'page' to nine is obtrusive

the fwd/back buttons on lock and options screen are total cack.

question for those who've updated very recently or about to, do you remember whether upon installation the phone asks for the SIM PIN code? I've always had it deactivated and now completely forgot what the code is so I wouldn't want to block my phone because of the update.

xp yeah, don't think you ever get asked for the SIM PIN when updating, only on first purchase or if you take the SIM out and put it back in. (UK based also).

I was planning to finally, finally replace my iPod Touch-plus-dumbphone combo with an iPhone 5S, but am still a bit peeved that my 4th-gen iPod touch, a product Apple was still selling just four months ago, cannot be upgraded to iOS7.

im actually kind of furious that they updated EVERYTHING except this stupid, useless, totally buggy and inconsistent app. it doesnt even "look" ios7

splitting podcasts off from the music app is easily the worst thing that has ever happened in the history of apple

Actually, I got used to separate podcasts quick, and now like it that way.

it might have been ok if the app had had any reason for existing or had made any sense at all, i swear to god, it's bizarrely buggy and bad

why r u guys listening to podcasts anyway, only listen to rap and country --steve jobs

i dont much care that it's a separate app. i care that it lists podcasts i don't have on it anymore, it shows unread counts for them for some reason, it shows un-downloaded podcasts for some podcasts and not others, it's just... a total mess

the zooming effect is kind of hilarious, like POW! I'm jumping into Tiny Tower, ZOOM! I'm leaping back out to the home screen, WHEE! I'm diving into Zing etc

it's like my phone/iPad is being controlled by a student driver attempting to master a stick shift

still undecided on the thin font. love the new pop up drawer though with the wifi, flashlight (can't believe it took them this long), camera and other options

it's just... a total mess

last night i deleted a bunch of podcasts to make space on my phone, made sure itunes was set to sync ALL episodes of ALL podcasts, made sure that i had at least the most recent episode of each podcast i wanted, then synced. then synced again just to make sure. this morning going to work at least half of my podcasts showed zero episodes.

it just simply.... DOESN'T WORK. AT ALL. if you manage your podcasts exclusively through your phone and never sync, everything's fine and actually the app works pretty well. but the moment you sync it, it is a complete crapshoot what will be there.

but yeah. the fact that it didn't even get a facelift and is supposedly a core app is pretty nelsonlaugh.jpg

you know that you can get podcasts back into the music app, right? just delete the podcasts app from your phone. hey presto.

also there are other podcast apps. i use downcast. it's a little overstuffed but it's way better than the official app.
