issues i keep hearing about are-

- keyboard lag (esp. when switching from alpha to numeric)
- wallpaper lag
- spontaneous rebooting
- no transparency in control centre (not technically an issue tbh)

yeah, I have no idea what the problems would be there, the only iPads made since then were only tweaked a little

the betas were a bit laggier

I'm not seeing lag in typing or wallpaper. And thankfully it hasn't spontaneously rebooted. I'll keep an eye out for stuff and report in if things occur.

EZ Snappin, Wednesday, 18 September 2013 21:27 (twelve years ago)

this is cool! I am easy to please, give me new shiny things. but: wtf @ find my friends still looking like a leather notebook. I use that app like crazy & uggh compared to the other slick stuff.

was just thinking, apple has three pricing levels for the iphone (usa with contract) which up until today looked like

$200 current iphone
$100 year old iphone
$0 two year old iphone

now they look like

$200 current iphone
$100 iphone C
$0 two year old iphone

next year maybe they look like

$200 current iphone
$100 iphone C
$0 NEW KIND OF CHEAP IPHONE (two y/o iphone in new case)

eh

What's nuts is that earlier this week I sold two iPhone 4 (not 4S, the three year old 4) for $250 each cash on Craigslist. Granted both were impeccable and I kept the boxes (with untouched chargers, cords, headphones). I had no idea there was still a market for the 4.

Jersey Al (Albert R. Broccoli), Wednesday, 18 September 2013 21:44 (twelve years ago)

got some slowdown earlier which is annoying but on the whole seems a pleasant enough upgrade

need some flattened icons for essential apps tho like stat

wow, really not enjoying ios 7 so far. slow transitions, head-spinny zoom effects, really stupid folders. seriously, the folders suck. and parallax wallpaper is just irritating.

obi wankin' obi (Autumn Almanac), Wednesday, 18 September 2013 21:50 (twelve years ago)

Has anyone done this on a 4s yet? Kind of concerned it will take up a ton of space and slow performance.

#fomo that's the motto (Hurting 2), Wednesday, 18 September 2013 21:52 (twelve years ago)

been using it on a 4s for months, works fine

beautifully, unapologetically plastic (mh), Wednesday, 18 September 2013 21:53 (twelve years ago)

I'm on a plain old 4 and it seems fine.

EZ Snappin, Wednesday, 18 September 2013 21:58 (twelve years ago)

i think the single worst thing about ios 7 is seeing arment and gruber wank themselves to death over it

obi wankin' obi (Autumn Almanac), Wednesday, 18 September 2013 22:39 (twelve years ago)

what do you all think about this ben stratego guy?

Philip Nunez, Wednesday, 18 September 2013 22:46 (twelve years ago)

No idea how anyone is getting any work done today — so much great stuff to read, so many updated apps to try.

at the end of gruber's most recent post. ugh, idk dude, not everybody's job is slobbering over apple all day so like

Clay, Wednesday, 18 September 2013 22:51 (twelve years ago)

I got a lot done today tbh

乒乓, Thursday, 19 September 2013 00:21 (twelve years ago)

a lot of the apps have updated ios7 icons but still feel very ios6-ish, all these bulgey gradients and shadows

乒乓, Thursday, 19 September 2013 00:25 (twelve years ago)

Yeah I'll be interested to see how design changes continue to roll out. So far I'm loving the basics of the update.

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 19 September 2013 00:33 (twelve years ago)

this has to mean all flat everything for OSX, right? is that where mavericks is going?

乒乓, Thursday, 19 September 2013 00:34 (twelve years ago)

Not really!

beautifully, unapologetically plastic (mh), Thursday, 19 September 2013 00:41 (twelve years ago)

Very gud laser controled organ. (Matt P), Thursday, 19 September 2013 01:10 (twelve years ago)

:(

the late great, Thursday, 19 September 2013 01:13 (twelve years ago)

Just discovered Swinsian. Lightweight iTunes replacement that lets you open playlists as windows. Also each playlist has it's own browser. Also FLAC etc. Could be a winner?

dan selzer, Thursday, 19 September 2013 01:18 (twelve years ago)

tag editing that's not in a dialog box, and wicked fast itunes import (just add tracks or move files or copy). I think we have a winner.

dan selzer, Thursday, 19 September 2013 01:31 (twelve years ago)

seems cool but no bpm is a dealbreaker for me

Very gud laser controled organ. (Matt P), Thursday, 19 September 2013 01:39 (twelve years ago)

z-time champion (agent hibachi), Thursday, 19 September 2013 02:18 (twelve years ago)

also way to hide spotlight from any normal user- is it not screamingly obvious they left an open space on the pull-up quick settings menu to move it to later?

z-time champion (agent hibachi), Thursday, 19 September 2013 02:19 (twelve years ago)

all the apps should use this sexy thin font, idgi

乒乓, Thursday, 19 September 2013 02:21 (twelve years ago)

anyway this looks good if a little garish but i realized im not seeing lots of the changes because most of my default apple apps are squirreled away in a folder and long since replaced by better versions
