he deleted all his tweets a few days ago too. annoying for a signed-up fanboy like me who hangs on his every word - means i missed his gta stuff, what was he saying? been a few things over the past few months where i thought 'hmm you've not really thought that through' but mostly im in agreement with him - or if not agreement, can see what he means but shy away because it's just too dark/cynical

NI, Wednesday, 18 September 2013 19:49 (twelve years ago)

ha wonder why he blocked you? i do kinda buzz off that, how he's so brutal and harsh with his blockings. did you tweet anything at him? the 'getting on a roll about being obnoxious about something' is a real line in the sand for a lot of people it seems, i usually enjoy the relentlessness of it. ie. tweeting every couple of days about get lucky being the sound of the summer never fails to bring a mini-lol

NI, Wednesday, 18 September 2013 19:51 (twelve years ago)

i enjoy his twitter, he obviously uses it excessively, but that's because he's a tv writer/performer who has a young kid , no friends, and mental health issues and spends most of his time at home fannying about on the computer. also because he is a bit of a self-confessed bam-up merchant/troll.

his vine has definitely gone downhill quite a bit, but it would have been difficult for him to keep up the early quality.

tell it to my arse (jim in glasgow), Saturday, 21 September 2013 06:13 (twelve years ago)

I was playing my nephew some of his dafter vines and when one of the ones where he encourages his kid to just go nuts shouting came on, my sister just glanced over and wistfully said "oh, his poor wife"

random accies memories (Sgt. Biscuits), Saturday, 21 September 2013 11:43 (twelve years ago)

ftr it was repeat playing of the "I'm gonna sell you this today notfortenpounds notforfivepounds notforthreetwooronepound bat for free - FER FREE?! - fer free" one that almost got me divorced

random accies memories (Sgt. Biscuits), Saturday, 21 September 2013 11:45 (twelve years ago)

don't know if this is a joke or not:

Limmy ‏@DaftLimmy
That's right, folks, there will be a Limmy's Show Christmas Special!

https://twitter.com/DaftLimmy/status/381461676727361536

NI, Saturday, 21 September 2013 18:42 (twelve years ago)

he's said recently how he's busy working on stuff til the end of the year but no clue as to what it is other than a vague mention of a sitcom. be interesting to see if he can pull it off - he's so skilled at the short intense blast, wonder if he can stretch it out to 6 x 30 mins. also if he'll be using dee dee, jacqueline etc, if he's playing most the parts himself - would actually prefer this for the sheer fuckedupness, no one else in the entire show except limmy dressed and made up in various ways

NI, Saturday, 21 September 2013 18:44 (twelve years ago)

guess some of the world of glasgow were around 20-30mins so he does have some decent long-form stuff

NI, Saturday, 21 September 2013 18:44 (twelve years ago)

In the What's Your 'Hing sketch, what does Limmy suggest to the guy at the store? I can only make out about 40% of what he says after "you know what you could do..." (I'm from the U.S.)

JRN, Thursday, 26 September 2013 03:13 (twelve years ago)

Watch back the CCTV for that day. Go up next to where people were standing. Go like that to them (ie. say to them) "All right Sir, two for one. Can I help you madam? Tin of tomatoes. Alright here?". Like you usually would. But with your cock out.

everything, Thursday, 26 September 2013 03:46 (twelve years ago)

Ahhhhh thanks. Best 'hing = sitting the wardrobe all weekend, fuckin' laughing your heed'aff.

JRN, Thursday, 26 September 2013 05:23 (twelve years ago)

Christmas special isn't a joke - he is making that

Congress Poland (nakhchivan), Sunday, 27 October 2013 03:45 (twelve years ago)

lot of unbelievably gullible folk out there.his account is a constant bam-up-merchant and never fails to get a bite.

tell it to my arse (jim in glasgow), Sunday, 27 October 2013 04:27 (twelve years ago)

hes got a wee vine narrative on the go now - painter and decorator descending into alcoholism - which has been superb.

tell it to my arse (jim in glasgow), Sunday, 27 October 2013 04:29 (twelve years ago)

yeah but he can clown people with conspiracy shit by using any of the idk 40% of conspiracy shit that isn't overtly antisemitic, see also

Is this anti-semitism?

Congress Poland (nakhchivan), Sunday, 27 October 2013 04:33 (twelve years ago)

I have a book on oddball conspiracy stuff -- they pretty much all went there eventually. Even the alien Bigfoot time castle stuff.

Philip Nunez, Sunday, 27 October 2013 04:42 (twelve years ago)

i've got about a thousand of his vines to catch up on. might put aside my entire afternoon for it (not looking forward to the bread ones)

NI, Sunday, 27 October 2013 12:35 (twelve years ago)

full 60min mindfuck (001-600):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gXEw1e7ii4k

probably the most intense undiluted limmy experience yet, up there with his world of glasgow podcasts

NI, Thursday, 28 November 2013 01:46 (twelve years ago)

bit annoyed with myself for not going through the 2nd batch of vines individually, something about the relentless loop really elevates the rough lols (for certain clips). still great to see them run-on like this.

has he announced a broadcast date for the xmas special yet?

NI, Thursday, 28 November 2013 01:48 (twelve years ago)

A BASTARD AE A BOY

random accies memories (Sgt. Biscuits), Monday, 23 December 2013 00:04 (twelve years ago)

that was kind of bad. I liked the Scottish song though

Number None, Monday, 23 December 2013 02:33 (twelve years ago)

Loved Dee Dee's bit

cardamon, Monday, 23 December 2013 03:50 (twelve years ago)

And Mulvaney

cardamon, Monday, 23 December 2013 03:50 (twelve years ago)

the dee dee one was great, limmy in excelsis. rest a bit patchy but that's standard with limmy, worth it for the good stuff

NI, Monday, 23 December 2013 04:56 (twelve years ago)

Mr. Mulvaney kills me every single time. So, so funny.

Walter Galt, Monday, 23 December 2013 12:03 (twelve years ago)

thought that was p excellent as it goes. keen sourcing of old rave flyers on teenage Dee Dee's wall

wantaway strikers make money working from home (DJ Mencap), Monday, 23 December 2013 13:00 (twelve years ago)

I also found it bad and not funny, sadly. He's lost quite a lot of weight and looks better for it though.

i lost my shoes on acid (jed_), Monday, 23 December 2013 20:19 (twelve years ago)

Thought that was pretty much consistently good, which is rare.

painfully alive in a drugged and dying culture (DavidM), Monday, 23 December 2013 23:53 (twelve years ago)

I thought Christmas of Yesteryear was one of the funniest things he's ever done tbh.

Ian Glasper's trapped in a scone (aldo), Tuesday, 24 December 2013 00:32 (twelve years ago)

this was pish bar Xmas of yesteryear and deedee in my opinion.he has lost a ton of weight, skinny bastart now.

tell it to my arse (jim in glasgow), Tuesday, 24 December 2013 02:22 (twelve years ago)

Loved Dee Dee and Adidas 4 Stripe. Most of the rest was meh. He must be running out of ideas, "what would you do?" is a recycled Internet sketch from years ago.

gaze not into the navel (onimo), Tuesday, 24 December 2013 13:27 (twelve years ago)

nah, he often rejigs early ideas (as do many writers/comedians/creative types, right?), and the density of ideas in his vines suggests that he's still 'got it'. he was saying a few days ago how he'd love to remake the benjamin skits from his world of glasgow but no tv person would fund the creation something so vicious.

remember thinking 'hm bit weak' about the first ep of s1 and s3 but subsequent viewings shows on a par with the rest, all part of a piece. falconhoof was good in this and the mr mulvaney is A+.

NI, Tuesday, 24 December 2013 21:37 (twelve years ago)

think he struggles with a theme, the "live" episode he did also fell a bit flat.also when he gets sentimental it can be a bit cloying.

really curious as to what he's going to do next. fingers crossed for a weird limmy sitcom.

tell it to my arse (jim in glasgow), Wednesday, 25 December 2013 04:23 (twelve years ago)

like, i guess, was an uplifting way to leave jacqueline mccafferty but not even trying to be funny.

tell it to my arse (jim in glasgow), Wednesday, 25 December 2013 04:26 (twelve years ago)

well he's doing a sitcom pilot anyway

Number None, Wednesday, 25 December 2013 18:21 (twelve years ago)

this was ok! weird when he started doing the what would you do? sketch at the end and repeating just about all of the elements of the original but really sped up and not funny

conrad, Thursday, 26 December 2013 13:05 (twelve years ago)

just been reading about the source of the bust-up with rob florence, on cookdnbombd. some mega childish shit here, from both sides, though mostly from rob: http://www.cookdandbombd.co.uk/forums/index.php/topic,29109.msg1556411.html#msg1556411

would love to know what happened on that subsequent webcam.
