Identity guy has whisked him off to Kerry, he won't really stand out there.

walt has to come back to kill nazis if not save jesse though it sort of doesn't matter at this point - the nazis don't represent much more than chaos that walt has unleashed upon everything and killing them won't really wrap up v much or rectify anything unless ok they're a threat to skylar/jr I dunno and if saving jesse is a heroic thing it's kinda dumb too since he could have let jesse hide under his car a bit longer although then jesse might have tried to kill him after the nazis were gone and now that they've tortured him and enslaved him under threat of brock and mom he will be grateful to be liberated and hug him (walter)

conrad, Monday, 16 September 2013 22:55 (twelve years ago)

"lets hug it out, bitch" (!)

Charlie Rose plays "old Jesse," telling walt's tale to his grand children before pulling out that ricin cig and lighting it

da croupier, Monday, 16 September 2013 23:04 (twelve years ago)

isn't it more likely Jesse escapes Nazis, and Walt is coming to save family from Jesse? More drama if the final face-off is Walt vs. Jesse than Walt vs. Nazi. Admitting to Jesse that he killed Jane felt to me like the writers' tipping their hand to make sure the audience is 100% sure Jesse will want to take revenge onWalt - even if it means Jesse doing so in an uncharacteristically nasty way. Also after all he's piled on Jesse now - is it believable Walt suddenly feels bad and risks everything to save him?

brio, Monday, 16 September 2013 23:04 (twelve years ago)

he did seem to be cracking a bit near the end.

i agree tho it's a stretch, but i can't see jesse trying to hurt walt's family.

Evil Juice Box Man (LocalGarda), Monday, 16 September 2013 23:07 (twelve years ago)

may as well go for the really grim ending where the nazis comprehensively win, why not.

Waluigi Nono (Merdeyeux), Monday, 16 September 2013 23:07 (twelve years ago)

so now walt is gone from his family and in a mega worse way than if he'd just bloody died of cancer quietly and he hasn't even managed to leave them any money at all the carwash should really be confiscated have an a1 life

conrad, Monday, 16 September 2013 23:07 (twelve years ago)

walt gets shot trying to save jesse from the nazis, jesse saves walt, saul and huell show up with horses, huell laughing that the dog was named indy

da croupier, Monday, 16 September 2013 23:08 (twelve years ago)

idg why walt would care about "saving" jesse - he just handed him off to get murdered.

I can see how he would care if Lydia/nazis are trying to kill skyler & co.

think he actually passed on the murdering bit.

? Todd was the one who said they should keep him alive.

"jesse might have tried to kill him after the nazis were gone and now that they've tortured him and enslaved him under threat of brock and mom he will be grateful to be liberated and hug him (walter)"

I guess this would be the Pulp Fiction ending with Bruce Willis breaking out Ving Rhames from Zed and the Gimp with Jesse making a couple of calls to call a couple of pipe hitting guys he knows (Skinny Pete & Badger) to finish the job.

earlnash, Monday, 16 September 2013 23:13 (twelve years ago)

? Todd was the one who said they should keep him alive.

jack still asked walt if he was okay with that.

Evil Juice Box Man (LocalGarda), Monday, 16 September 2013 23:16 (twelve years ago)

if they're gonna go pulp fiction, then Walt already shot Skinny Pete while making breakfast before Jesse made the call

damn walt always getting on jesse's bad side

da croupier, Monday, 16 September 2013 23:16 (twelve years ago)

he doidnt pass on jesse getting murdered, just said he was ok with them torturing him first - todd said theyd "do the job" after

brio, Monday, 16 September 2013 23:40 (twelve years ago)

the only reason i wouldn't mind seeing jesse come after walt's fam is because otherwise jesse and walt jr will never have had a scene together (iirc) and always thought that could've been amazing - too late now tho i guess

think walt will go after nazis just to get money back but end up teaming up reluctantly with jesse in the process. expecting some real gung-ho vengeance from jesse on nazis and todd somehow tho (but maybe a hollow victory), if not also to a lesser extent (not for want of trying) on walt.

nashwan, Monday, 16 September 2013 23:48 (twelve years ago)

Jesse's not into murdering people, can't really picture him going after Walt's family

didn't think skyler was great here either.

There is no way he's coming back to "save Jesse". He's the reason why Jesse needed to be saved, he's not going to suddenly get a change of heart after 9 months just because it turns out he wasn't killed 8 months and 28 days earlier. It's some threat to Skyler/WaltJr/Holly/Marie that's forcing him to bring out the big guns.

One bad call from barely losing to (Alex in SF), Monday, 16 September 2013 23:50 (twelve years ago)

jesse wouldn't kill em, just use the threat to flush out walt

brio, Monday, 16 September 2013 23:50 (twelve years ago)

idk, having him killed or even tortured and killed in short order is a lot different than nine months of meth slavery and abuse

but yeah, pretty unlikely

anyway. I foresee a Walt plays video poker scene. "Welp at least I still have 5mil for my family" 3 hours later "Welp at least I still have 1mil for Walt jr and holly's educations" 1 hour later "ima take this last 100k and buy a gun"

this was so good

my only Internet Breaking Bad Discussion contribution here is just to say that it is unconscionable to roll your eyes & call the last few episodes predictable/predicted when internet users have dedicated themselves to methodically indexing every conceivable outcome as if they are mapping the digits of pi

maybe it'll be some Superman 2 shit where the Nazis take over the town the Whites live in and the mayor goes on television screaming "HEISENBERG, CAN YOU HEAR ME???? WE NEED YOU!!!!"

I don't think anyone is eyerolling. I thought it was a great episode, but it definitely stood out as the one time that the internet predictions got anything right. There were no major curveballs I don't think, apart from the phone call. For a big climactic episode, it was remarkably free of those big "oh shit, I never thought of that" moments that BB is great at.

a hard dom is good to find (Edward III), Tuesday, 17 September 2013 00:13 (twelve years ago)

I mean just in the last few episodes, I don't think anybody predicted walt making a video to pin everything on hank, or jesse and hank luring walt to the money with a staged photo of a buried money barrel. But this episode kind of went down the list of all of the chekov's guns that were left hanging out there from the jane revelation to bringing holly out of retirement just to get kidnapped (pretty sure people have been predicting a holly kidnapping for the past few seasons).

wk, Tuesday, 17 September 2013 00:18 (twelve years ago)

i was thinking that that last ep couldnt have existed in all its fury w/o the five seasons that came before it, like if you tried to do something like that after one season there wouldnt be enough backstory and itd seem ridicouls and overblown

lag∞n, Tuesday, 17 September 2013 00:20 (twelve years ago)

one of the triumphs of the show is getting us to sign up for watching an episode like that

To me the most unexpected thing from this last episode was Walt keeping a lot of money. One would have presumed it would be all or nothing.

Jesse's parents are gonna be hella surprised when they open the paper and find out their estranged son was part of a major drug ring and iced hella bad guys.

Neanderthal, Tuesday, 17 September 2013 00:32 (twelve years ago)

I can't think of any other show where tying up all of the loose ends and speculation like they did is just a buildup to two more episodes of who knows what! Hank and the DEA are basically out of the picture in any meaningful way. All of the secrets are out in the open (jane, walt jr, buried money). They're not going to go back to baby in peril again so that's done. After the knife scene I don't think there's any way that Walt is going to kill Skyler as a lot of people were speculating. We know how/why/when walt changes his identity and goes into hiding. All we're left with is Jesse, Walt, a huge fucking gun and a ricin cigarette. Plus Marie, Lydia, Nazis, Madrigal, and Charlie Rose. And I guess we might see a little more of Saul and Huell?

wk, Tuesday, 17 September 2013 00:40 (twelve years ago)

You don't think they got the hint when they couldn't sell the house because it was filled with meth supplies, and then Jesse bought it with straight cash?
