Just Todd's excuse to get a meth slave to make blue for Lydia

Re: Jesse, uh, might be along the lines of he pulled a con with the feds, almost got him arrested, and (in his mind) got Hank killed. It's purely personal at this point. Why else did he tell him about Jane?

yep hes mad at jesse for hank dying
― lag∞n, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:32 (twelve years ago)
oh, I thought he was talking about the tape he made at Hank's house, where he spilled all the beans.

oh right right
― Matt Armstrong, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:33 (twelve years ago)
that will probably not go well for Marie I'd guess
Maybe Skyler and the kids are at Marie's house when they come to get the tape and the ensuing carnage is why Walt comes back
― Matt Armstrong, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:34 (twelve years ago)
Walt forgot his Boz Scaggs collection, comes back for that
― Neanderthal, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:35 (twelve years ago)
does walt come back to kill the ayrans, if so why does he wait for his hair to grow in, something else must happen, plus theres two more eps
― lag∞n, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:35 (twelve years ago)
The bartender at my Breaking Bad bar, seeing how upset we all are, has added extra garnishes to our drinks (and gave us 20% off our tabs)
― kate78, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:35 (twelve years ago)
omfg Marie's face
lol xp
btw p sure you could piece together this entire ep via predictions made upthread
― lag∞n, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:36 (twelve years ago)
Telling Jesse about Jane seemed a bit off - like the writers just stuck it in there to shore up Jesse's motivation to try to get revenge on Hank when he escapes from the Nazis
Quibbling though - best episode ever?
― brio, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:37 (twelve years ago)
Oh yeah, fer sure.
― kate78, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:38 (twelve years ago)
DEA is going to have to investigate what happened to their two agents. They're taking it on faith that they're dead, and nobody but Jesse, the Nazis, and Walt knows where the firefight even went down. Once they find that, they'll know who Heisenberg is, but he's already gone and using another identity, likelihood of him being caught is pretty much nil at this point.
He's probably going to die Godfather III style as someone else mentioned upthread. That's his penance; dying of cancer, alone.
― Neanderthal, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:39 (twelve years ago)
does he really NEED much more motivation? fucking Jesse has a scroll worth of reasons to want to 86 Walt at this point.
― Neanderthal, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:40 (twelve years ago)
but he got the big gun and went home xp
― lag∞n, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:40 (twelve years ago)
I felt like the Jane bit was sensible because that's what Walt is. He isn't just satisfied winning, he loves his victory laps as well. It was just twisting the knife further into Jesse before he died.
― Neanderthal, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:41 (twelve years ago)
yeah there's a loooooooooooot still left to happen and I can't predict it, or who the gun is for.
― Neanderthal, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:42 (twelve years ago)
yeah also now walt it totally exposed, everyone knows all the worst stuff hes done xp
― lag∞n, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:42 (twelve years ago)
I was gonna let the whole Nazis torturing me in the desert thing slide, but then you brought up my girlfriend
― Matt Armstrong, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:42 (twelve years ago)
he was real mad at jesse
― lag∞n, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:43 (twelve years ago)
I like how Jesse was under Walt's car and he was the only one who saw, so the responsibility is 100% his
― Matt Armstrong, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:43 (twelve years ago)
it was pretty funny when he was getting all exasperated w his family like ill explain everything in the car ok
― lag∞n, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:44 (twelve years ago)
we've all been there, right guys?
― Matt Armstrong, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:45 (twelve years ago)
personally i kind of liked the over the top season 4 arcs vs the grim way this is winding up, even though it feels appropriate
not sure how to take walt's comment about jane - not that he said it, but that he thought of bringing it up *that* quickly after everything that happened just moments earlier
― seriously, THIS GUY (daria-g), Monday, 16 September 2013 02:45 (twelve years ago)
was really hoping the neo-Nazis would start shooting at Jesse's feet yelling DANCE, MCFLY, DANCE!
― Neanderthal, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:46 (twelve years ago)
xpostsha - yeah, that's kind of what I mean though... it felt unnecessary given Jesse's other motivations
― brio, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:46 (twelve years ago)
yeah at least with Season 4, you got visceral thrills out of it. this is just ...ugly.
― Neanderthal, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:47 (twelve years ago)
i liked it
― lag∞n, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:48 (twelve years ago)
From a day ago but Rian Johnson talking about directing this episode:

― Ned Raggett, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:49 (twelve years ago)
this is the way the show needed to end, yeah. No chuckles and "aww, shucks, y'got me" followed by end credits - this always was headed to a grim place. Feel about this episode the way I do about Polanski's Repulsion. I loved it, but I didn't enjoy it.
― Neanderthal, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:50 (twelve years ago)
― Neanderthal,
Chekhov?
― first I think it's time I kick a little verse! (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Monday, 16 September 2013 02:51 (twelve years ago)
so is Hank dead?
hes just sleeping
― lag∞n, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:52 (twelve years ago)
they should've gone along and we could have walt presenting the story like he did his long comedy of errors about getting soaked with gasoline. "so anyway, you remember jesse pinkman? well, jesse and i - you're not going to believe this! - jesse and i..."
― Waluigi Nono (Merdeyeux), Monday, 16 September 2013 02:52 (twelve years ago)
Poor Hank, reaching for that single shotgun shell again, hoping for lightning to strike twice
― "lol meth dear john" call (Myonga Vön Bontee), Monday, 16 September 2013 02:52 (twelve years ago)
he's got to be dead, there's no way they could have missed thatand i was surprised that after hank being on this show for all five seasons, that shooting happened off camera
― seriously, THIS GUY (daria-g), Monday, 16 September 2013 02:52 (twelve years ago)
shot in the head and under three feet of desert seems... quite final.
― Waluigi Nono (Merdeyeux), Monday, 16 September 2013 02:53 (twelve years ago)
only ask because I'm on vacation elsewhere and friend is watching the Seahawks game and wtf
― first I think it's time I kick a little verse! (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Monday, 16 September 2013 02:54 (twelve years ago)
Walt literally dug their grave weeks ago
― "lol meth dear john" call (Myonga Vön Bontee), Monday, 16 September 2013 02:55 (twelve years ago)
With everything else that happened in this episode, I expected the dog that ran across the street in the last shot to get run over, because at this point, eh, why the fuck not?
― punt cased (Tarfumes The Escape Goat), Monday, 16 September 2013 02:56 (twelve years ago)
there shouldve been a shot of the ayrans smiling and nodding when they realized they could just put the bodies in there
― lag∞n, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:57 (twelve years ago)
yr friend should've changed the channel. the rain delay in the seahawks game lasted exactly the length of this ep! i flipped back after the end and not one second of game clock had passed
― seriously, THIS GUY (daria-g), Monday, 16 September 2013 02:57 (twelve years ago)
telling jesse about jane makes sense to me...walt's wrath had grown to the point of wanting to see jesse executed in front of him..once that was deferred, spilling those particular beans was his only consolation prize available.
― slam dunk, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:59 (twelve years ago)
yeah this worked so well - it's such a classic normal dad thing, rushing everybody into the car - just blown up into this horrible nightmare version of every morning in suburbia
― brio, Monday, 16 September 2013 03:00 (twelve years ago)
Jack and the other guy casually hopping right on to the next point of conversation immediately after shooting Hank was a nice grim touch.
― Waluigi Nono (Merdeyeux), Monday, 16 September 2013 03:00 (twelve years ago)
the whole sequence really illustrated how outclassed walt is as a criminal. he thought he could save hank, he told them about the money, and he let them steal jesse to cook for them
― lag∞n, Monday, 16 September 2013 03:03 (twelve years ago)
seeing hank's bloody body get dragged away to get dumped in the same hole as gomie was way worse and more brutal than seeing him shot imo.
― slam dunk, Monday, 16 September 2013 03:07 (twelve years ago)
nice lil touch there at the beginning showing the first lie
― lag∞n, Monday, 16 September 2013 03:08 (twelve years ago)
Yea. And letting the Chekov knives come into view.
