Shall we anticipate the FIFTH SEASON of the AMC series "Breaking Bad"? I think I may.

the anxiety in Walt Jr's voice ....;_;

Neanderthal, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:14 (twelve years ago)

and we just saw him attempt to surrender instead of having Hank hit by the Nazis, so it's not like he's Ted Bundy xxp

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:15 (twelve years ago)

re the relief that Walt left the house with no one else dead, yeah, I had Walt Jr pegged for an intervention that ended with him falling on the knife.

Distance and a rewatch will allow me more perspective, I'm sure, but right now I'm feeling that this was Haneke-esque in being tense and masterfully made and not in any sense a positive experience.

Waluigi Nono (Merdeyeux), Monday, 16 September 2013 02:16 (twelve years ago)

Wow - I didn't get that as Walt trying to save Skylar from prison ... I see it now that you mention it, but after the knife fight and the babysnatching and sending Jesse off to be tortured, it seemed pretty on the lev. Need to watch that scene again

brio, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:17 (twelve years ago)

Mitte finally came into his own as an actor in this one, unless I missed some awesomeness in seasons 2 and 3.

WmC, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:18 (twelve years ago)

xxpost neo-nazis all like "America's done lost its way, used to be you could kill a DEA agent without your meth cook weeping about how he's family for an hour"

Neanderthal, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:18 (twelve years ago)

He was totally saving Skyler from prison with that phone call, well played by both of them.

WmC, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:19 (twelve years ago)

well it was pretty obvious he knew the cops were there - Walter Jr was on the phone with them before he even left, and of course he shredded the phone right after. and he was weeping the whole time. it wasn't as clear initially but yeah it was definitely a strategic call, not a "lol meth dear john" call.

Neanderthal, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:20 (twelve years ago)

so with the Nazis having 70 million dollars, the hell is it so important for them to have Jesse cook now? I mean that's more than they'd make w/ Madrigal. could lay low for a while.

also, what muscle does Lydia have to enforce it? been wondering that since last week. if the Nazi punks tell her to fuck off, does she have enforcers that we haven't seen that can come in and force them?

Neanderthal, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:22 (twelve years ago)

Remember when you used to tell people to watch Breaking Bad and they were like "is it like Weeds?" lol

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:22 (twelve years ago)

Man. Not buying that Walt monologue to Skylar. "No cops? Cool. Here's a lot of incriminating shit. You BITCH." Isn't him. Also, why is he wiling to to give up everything he has for Hank but he's dying to have Jesse wiped out?

circa1916, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:24 (twelve years ago)

he....knew the cops were listening.

Neanderthal, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:24 (twelve years ago)

Yeah it makes total sense - and the baby saying mama could have made him realize not just that keeping the kid was crazy - but that mama might be going to jail if he didn't fix it - I was just way too blown away to be seeing that stuff at the end. Holy fuck.

brio, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:25 (twelve years ago)

Because Jesse betrayed him and Hank is just doing his job.

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:26 (twelve years ago)

I mean, at this point, hiding his crimes is kind of pointless. His own wife, son, and sister-in-law know what he's done and are already telling the cops. And he's already calling Saul's guy. Admitting the shit he's done to help get his wife out of trouble with the law kind of made sense at that point.

Re: Jesse, uh, might be along the lines of he pulled a con with the feds, almost got him arrested, and (in his mind) got Hank killed. It's purely personal at this point. Why else did he tell him about Jane?

Neanderthal, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:27 (twelve years ago)

what was all the shit Jesse said about a tape in the Whites' house?

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:27 (twelve years ago)

lol @ nazi punks/f*** off

i don't have the impression the rest of them much care about the meth quality, they just want the money, but todd apparently has his own opinion. who knows, lydia seems to know a lot of people

tbh i can't see walt trying to save anybody. more like coming back to kill skyler himself and jesse if that doesn't happen before he gets there

seriously, THIS GUY (daria-g), Monday, 16 September 2013 02:27 (twelve years ago)

Walt's going to come back to make an honest woman out of Lydia

Neanderthal, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:28 (twelve years ago)

The tape of his confession

brio, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:29 (twelve years ago)

― Matt Armstrong, Sunday, September 15, 2013 10:27 PM Bookmark Flag Post Permalink

oh, I thought he was talking about the tape he made at Hank's house, where he spilled all the beans.

Neanderthal, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:29 (twelve years ago)

I kind of felt that strategy was a little silly though. "So we'll get him to tell us all the DEA knows ,then we'll kill him anyway". Kind of takes away his incentive to be honest, no?

Neanderthal, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:29 (twelve years ago)

was the pic of Brock and his girlfriend a message that if he doesn't cook, they're going to die?

Neanderthal, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:30 (twelve years ago)

girlfriend? OMG see this ep has my brain messed up. MOTHER.

Neanderthal, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:30 (twelve years ago)

walt made most of that money in what less than six months, think the ayrans dont want another few 70 millions

lag∞n, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:31 (twelve years ago)

Just Todd's excuse to get a meth slave to make blue for Lydia

brio, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:31 (twelve years ago)

yep hes mad at jesse for hank dying

oh right right

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:33 (twelve years ago)

that will probably not go well for Marie I'd guess

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:33 (twelve years ago)

Maybe Skyler and the kids are at Marie's house when they come to get the tape and the ensuing carnage is why Walt comes back

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:34 (twelve years ago)

Walt forgot his Boz Scaggs collection, comes back for that

Neanderthal, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:35 (twelve years ago)

does walt come back to kill the ayrans, if so why does he wait for his hair to grow in, something else must happen, plus theres two more eps

lag∞n, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:35 (twelve years ago)

The bartender at my Breaking Bad bar, seeing how upset we all are, has added extra garnishes to our drinks (and gave us 20% off our tabs)

kate78, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:35 (twelve years ago)

omfg Marie's face

kate78, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:35 (twelve years ago)

lol xp

lag∞n, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:35 (twelve years ago)

btw p sure you could piece together this entire ep via predictions made upthread

lag∞n, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:36 (twelve years ago)

Telling Jesse about Jane seemed a bit off - like the writers just stuck it in there to shore up Jesse's motivation to try to get revenge on Hank when he escapes from the Nazis

Quibbling though - best episode ever?

brio, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:37 (twelve years ago)

Oh yeah, fer sure.

kate78, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:38 (twelve years ago)

DEA is going to have to investigate what happened to their two agents. They're taking it on faith that they're dead, and nobody but Jesse, the Nazis, and Walt knows where the firefight even went down. Once they find that, they'll know who Heisenberg is, but he's already gone and using another identity, likelihood of him being caught is pretty much nil at this point.

He's probably going to die Godfather III style as someone else mentioned upthread. That's his penance; dying of cancer, alone.

Neanderthal, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:39 (twelve years ago)

Telling Jesse about Jane seemed a bit off - like the writers just stuck it in there to shore up Jesse's motivation to try to get revenge on Hank when he escapes from the Nazis

does he really NEED much more motivation? fucking Jesse has a scroll worth of reasons to want to 86 Walt at this point.

Neanderthal, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:40 (twelve years ago)

but he got the big gun and went home xp

lag∞n, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:40 (twelve years ago)

I felt like the Jane bit was sensible because that's what Walt is. He isn't just satisfied winning, he loves his victory laps as well. It was just twisting the knife further into Jesse before he died.

Neanderthal, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:41 (twelve years ago)

yeah there's a loooooooooooot still left to happen and I can't predict it, or who the gun is for.

Neanderthal, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:42 (twelve years ago)

yeah also now walt it totally exposed, everyone knows all the worst stuff hes done xp

lag∞n, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:42 (twelve years ago)

I was gonna let the whole Nazis torturing me in the desert thing slide, but then you brought up my girlfriend

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:42 (twelve years ago)

he was real mad at jesse

lag∞n, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:43 (twelve years ago)

I like how Jesse was under Walt's car and he was the only one who saw, so the responsibility is 100% his

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:43 (twelve years ago)

it was pretty funny when he was getting all exasperated w his family like ill explain everything in the car ok

lag∞n, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:44 (twelve years ago)

we've all been there, right guys?

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 16 September 2013 02:45 (twelve years ago)

personally i kind of liked the over the top season 4 arcs vs the grim way this is winding up, even though it feels appropriate

not sure how to take walt's comment about jane - not that he said it, but that he thought of bringing it up *that* quickly after everything that happened just moments earlier

seriously, THIS GUY (daria-g), Monday, 16 September 2013 02:45 (twelve years ago)

was really hoping the neo-Nazis would start shooting at Jesse's feet yelling DANCE, MCFLY, DANCE!
