alls I can say is 'relief' was all I felt when Walt left the house with nobody dead, cuz for a moment I thought Skyler was going to bite it.

after what just happened what would indicate the show is headed toward some light of humanity to flick back on? what will it take to not be looking for some redemption for walt?

it's gonna be 00:01 from the end of the series and lots of folks will still be expecting him to do something good I suppose

cranston did a new yorker piece recently where he said that his goal with the show is to keep people believing there's hope for walt's redemption right up until the credits on the last episode roll so yeah, that's the endgame there

All of the imperfections of the prior episodes....God, this episode kinda like the feeling you get when you see a stroller rolling into oncoming traffic. so well done but.....bloody fuck, this isn't like the Gus Fring arc where you can go "AWWWW, BADASS" when zombie Gus falls over. I don't see any reason for him to come back other than vengeance or trying to save someone, and why would anyone hit his family? xp

re the relief that Walt left the house with no one else dead, yeah, I had Walt Jr pegged for an intervention that ended with him falling on the knife.

Distance and a rewatch will allow me more perspective, I'm sure, but right now I'm feeling that this was Haneke-esque in being tense and masterfully made and not in any sense a positive experience.

Mitte finally came into his own as an actor in this one, unless I missed some awesomeness in seasons 2 and 3.

well it was pretty obvious he knew the cops were there - Walter Jr was on the phone with them before he even left, and of course he shredded the phone right after. and he was weeping the whole time. it wasn't as clear initially but yeah it was definitely a strategic call, not a "lol meth dear john" call.

so with the Nazis having 70 million dollars, the hell is it so important for them to have Jesse cook now? I mean that's more than they'd make w/ Madrigal. could lay low for a while.

also, what muscle does Lydia have to enforce it? been wondering that since last week. if the Nazi punks tell her to fuck off, does she have enforcers that we haven't seen that can come in and force them?

Yeah it makes total sense - and the baby saying mama could have made him realize not just that keeping the kid was crazy - but that mama might be going to jail if he didn't fix it - I was just way too blown away to be seeing that stuff at the end. Holy fuck.

Because Jesse betrayed him and Hank is just doing his job.

I mean, at this point, hiding his crimes is kind of pointless. His own wife, son, and sister-in-law know what he's done and are already telling the cops. And he's already calling Saul's guy. Admitting the shit he's done to help get his wife out of trouble with the law kind of made sense at that point.

I kind of felt that strategy was a little silly though. "So we'll get him to tell us all the DEA knows ,then we'll kill him anyway". Kind of takes away his incentive to be honest, no?
