i think the loose ends are dramatically pretty powerful, though; there is speculation over whether Walt's hubris will be his undoing, & the debate over whether each untied strand is a macguffin or a Chekhovian pistol is part of the kinda wider universe of the show. there is that big reveal, in Alexander Payne's Election, of how Matthew Broderick wronged the janitor, & all of these strands exist doubly as things that are convincingly left unexplained, or else potential nooses later on, whether some fault in Walt's method poisoning Brock sowed the seeds of his downfall

Now I'm thinking that Walt and Jessie get away while Hank and Gomie die. The DEA find out about Walt from Marie and Jesse's tape, but they're more interested in taking down the Nazi gang that just killed two of their agents than in prosecuting Heisenberg, since doing so will tarnish Hank's fallen hero image. So Walt agrees to testify and goes into witness protection, but 6 months later Walt comes back to NM either to retrieve his money or to stop the Nazis from killing Jesse or Marie.

ok the Nazis want to kill Walt, who is in hiding or Witness Protection with Sklarboro and kids, so they draw him out by kidnapping or threatening someone they can get at--Jesse or Marie.

but I'm not sure that the ricin cig is going to be a big deal. Gilligan suggested that they wanted the season to start with that scene in the house but didn't have a good enough reason to get him to come back to the house. Just sightseeing didn't seem important enough, so they came up with the idea that he had a reason to go back. Not saying they didn't end up using that in some plot developments yet to come, but since everyone's making a big deal over how the season started with him recovering the sig, it's worth noting the scene wasn't originally written that way.

yeah - agree, there does have to be some twist, they can't just pick up and let the scene play out exactly as it looks like it's going to - and jesse is the only one in a position to do anything

Agree it would be the kind of twist BB excels in, and just more fun story-telling, if Jesse to pulls something ingenious off and save at least somebody - but what could he do that would be plausible? I wish I could remember more clearly where everyone was in the shootout.

like when they left blood on their clothes from killing a bunch of guys, talked loudly in public abt crimes and couldnt make the meth blue

Just remembered that bit of dialogue in the diner toilets where 2nd nazi talks about beating up kids who wear ppe on bikes "for their own good".

Looks like Jesse is going to back over Hank and Gomie at high speed and drag them under the car to safety and they shoot the Nazis' tires out while clinging to the undercarriage. Mystery solved.

also like the idea of aero's prediction playing out over the whole three final episodes. walt dies in first five minutes of next episode, remainder of season devoted to really elaborate big dubstep party subplot

Exciting that Damon Lindelof is at the helm for the final two episodes.
