Marie, she's a lying klepto, who's gonna believe that purple broad
I got the impression that the DEA guy holding Huell had no idea what the heck was going on (which is why Hank told him not to talk to the guy)
If Hank actually left Walt's recording at the house, I'll be surprised, it seemed like they were just behind Walt as they were taping him - weirdly risky to wait at the house, since he could've been a day away
― Nhex, Monday, 9 September 2013 18:10 (twelve years ago)
but DEA does have Huell
NHex otm DEA doesn't know about Huell, that was all bluffing

Pretty likely Marie will tell Walt Jr his father killed Hank next episode too - or force Skyler to level with him.

yea this could be interesting. hank sez 'i wont be home for awhile' or w/e thinking hes gonna be busy booking walt & explaining it. so if hes unreachable/dead she prob wont freak out right away but def will eventually and blame skyler if walts not present to blame
― johnny crunch, Monday, 9 September 2013 18:13 (twelve years ago)
if hank dies marie will tell the dea and all of them will get their guns and kill walt, hence what looks like walt calling sauls guy and moving to new hampshire
― lag∞n, Monday, 9 September 2013 18:14 (twelve years ago)
how will Marie know Hank is dead tho

im guess that they have enough that w some police work it could all be put together, a lil query of the prison tattoo database here, some checking on phone records there etc
― lag∞n, Monday, 9 September 2013 18:22 (twelve years ago)
DEA does know who Lydia is sort of but she was what, investigated and cleared? or maybe they never thought she was involved at all, and only came across her because she worked at Madrigal.
― dmr, Monday, 9 September 2013 18:30 (twelve years ago)
while i'm trying to resist the urge to fanfic earnestly, I WILL predict a backlash if Walt dies/fails at the end - a good chunk of the "Best TV Show Ever!" crowd might be let down if the show turns out to be a really well-made "crime doesn't pay" fable.
― da croupier, Monday, 9 September 2013 18:33 (twelve years ago)
those people would be wrong though
― Nhex, Monday, 9 September 2013 18:36 (twelve years ago)
as much as i feel they're teasing us about whether hank will die, and as much as part of me feels walt is going to try to save him, i can't see how this "deal" would work. once hank is in a nazi-free zone he's not going to keep covering for this maniac, not least when gomie's death brings loads of heat on his job/actions.
hank has to die imo if walt is to go on, as we know he does. i mean, doesn't he?
gilligan often does talk about them deliberately writing themselves into a corner tho, maybe they can find a way.

are there any other examples of great dramas that have the consistent focus of BB? Plenty of shows have created a fascinating world but tend to wrap up initial issues and move on to new, eventually less satisfying ones (or totally flake out on that issue all together). But while BB has definitely opened up the world beyond the pilot dilemma ("Can Walt pull off being a drug dealer long enough to provide for the fam?") they've never lost sight of that central problem. Never seen Sopranos, Oz or The Shield among others but off the top of my head I can't think of a show that really worked as one long narrative.

i guess walt could save hank but also escape... end up on the run at the nazi meth lab.
― Wantaway striker (LocalGarda), Monday, 9 September 2013 18:51 (twelve years ago)
Sons Of Anarchy kind of works that way, though they do go for long stretches where they'll stray
― set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Monday, 9 September 2013 18:51 (twelve years ago)
the only thing making me think hank could survive is that they've telegraphed so convincingly that there's no way out, this is like BB 101
― a hard dom is good to find (Edward III), Monday, 9 September 2013 18:54 (twelve years ago)
yeah of course! it's what makes it so good. nice "got myself a new boat, it's called the live forever" moment with marie.
― Wantaway striker (LocalGarda), Monday, 9 September 2013 18:56 (twelve years ago)
if you had to guess what would happen after the credits rolled, it would be jesse gets away, walt in hands of neo-nazis, hank and gomez dead, so I doubt that is what is going to happen
― a hard dom is good to find (Edward III), Monday, 9 September 2013 18:57 (twelve years ago)

if gomie and hank disappear and their phones go dead, the DEA's going to probably talk to the guy hank just put in a DEA safehouse - even if the guy guarding him has no clue what's up and it was off the books.
also Marie's not going to cover anything up if Hank goes missing - she'll tell them everything she knows like she's been bugging Hank to do - the only thing keeping them quiet was Walt's fake-out confession hurting Hank's career which is kind of moot if he's dead
Can't see how the DEA isn't on the hunt for Walt and Jesse next episode, probably Lydia too.
― brio, Monday, 9 September 2013 19:20 (twelve years ago)
Lydia seems pretty insulated, no? I thought the Madrigal investigation closed it off
― Nhex, Monday, 9 September 2013 19:22 (twelve years ago)
how does all of albuquerque know about heisenberg if hank and gomie are dead? there's gotta be something more. marie can't break it by herself... maybe skyler goes into witness protection after walt goes missing?
― fennel cartwright, Monday, 9 September 2013 19:24 (twelve years ago)
xpost - maybe Lydia's insulated but I don't think it'll be too fleshed-out anyway because they don't have time to introduce a bunch of new DEA characters - more just a general "the cops are coming down on us" thing for the major characters
― brio, Monday, 9 September 2013 19:26 (twelve years ago)
how does all of albuquerque know about heisenberg
as I've said repeatedly on this thread, this is a huge assumption
― what's up ugly girls? (Shakey Mo Collier), Monday, 9 September 2013 19:29 (twelve years ago)

Yeah, there's no indication everyone knows Walt is Heisenberg by the end.I'm betting Walt Jr paints the Heisenberg graffiti. The writing's all goofy.
― brio, Monday, 9 September 2013 19:42 (twelve years ago)
or the nazis do it. or Jesse does. or Marie. This whole speculative "the media exposes Walt!" thing seems really farfetched (and stupid) to me.
― what's up ugly girls? (Shakey Mo Collier), Monday, 9 September 2013 19:44 (twelve years ago)
Walt painted it. It's for forwarding his mail.
― dan selzer, Monday, 9 September 2013 19:45 (twelve years ago)
the graffiti plus the fenced off house plus the neighbors reaction plus walt on the lam are the evidence for him having been exposed
― lag∞n, Monday, 9 September 2013 19:50 (twelve years ago)
there are simpler/more plausible explanations for each of those beyond THE MEDIA
― what's up ugly girls? (Shakey Mo Collier), Monday, 9 September 2013 19:52 (twelve years ago)
not really sure what you mean by that but ok
― lag∞n, Monday, 9 September 2013 19:53 (twelve years ago)
oh plus charlie rose
various people have suggested on this thread that somehow Walt's identity becomes public knowledge - to his neighbors, to the skaters, to whoever spraypaints the graffiti - that's what I'm disagreeing about.
the Charlie Rose thing is a little o_0 tho
