Shall we anticipate the FIFTH SEASON of the AMC series "Breaking Bad"? I think I may.

Sad reminder that when Justified returns, Elmore Leonard has absolutely severed all links with us.

hey wait - do you think the flash forward is Walt coming back after faking his own death?

This occurred to me as well, mostly due to the neighbour's reaction.

Also OMG at that 'Badger as master archer' storyline.

Matt DC, Friday, 6 September 2013 08:41 (twelve years ago)

Regarding the more immediate future, where is Hank taking Jesse now? I mean he can't post him up at the schraderhausen now can he? Is he taking him to jail like he threatened to do if he didn't meet Walt in the plaza? If so, then wouldn't Walt's call to Todd about needed Todd's uncle to do one more job most likely be a prison killing like the last job. That's like his thing, right? Connections. Also mad timing and there was some line about timing in the 'Next on BrBa' trailer.

"Max's Original Starship" Vol. 3 (sunny successor), Friday, 6 September 2013 08:57 (twelve years ago)

I still think Jesse's plan is to somehow expose Walt to the world. Maybe if they could arrest him based on Jesse's tape it would be plausible that the media would be interested in a suspect in the retirement home bombing since it was all over the news.
If jesse is going to get him where he really lives couldn't that be reference to his dual personas / web of lies /pride which would all be exposed/damaged in a public outing. And his kids would get taken away from him. And Skylar would probably run to her divorce lawyer who was all for exposing Walt in the beginning. 4am speculation, man.

To the clink, which means Jesse has about 5 minutes to convince Hank of his plan. Which I suspect he will.

TracerHandVEVO (Tracer Hand), Friday, 6 September 2013 10:05 (twelve years ago)

it feels to me like each time hank moves further away from pursuing the case within the dea that he embroils himself deeper into the world of it all, and incriminates himself, and that he's going to suffer for this and these decisions will haunt him, or be the nails in his coffin.

Wantaway striker (LocalGarda), Friday, 6 September 2013 10:09 (twelve years ago)

Was thinking about the thing with Hank's medical bills the other day, and you'd think the DEA would be more understanding given they were taking Gus Fring's drug money for years.

Matt DC, Friday, 6 September 2013 10:14 (twelve years ago)

they'd still have to can him in terms of pr you'd imagine - esp assuming there was a shitstorm after gus was killed.

Wantaway striker (LocalGarda), Friday, 6 September 2013 10:15 (twelve years ago)

what if hank frustrated by walt's slipperiness blows a fuse and tries to murder him and is brought to justice for it !

conrad, Friday, 6 September 2013 10:16 (twelve years ago)

but is found innocent and then builds his own meth empire.

final scene: hank driving away from desert with walt's money while kid rock's "american badass" plays. hank smokes a cigar and smiles the smile of a newly-minted millionaire.

wait, didn't Jesse slip away from sight successfully?

Matt Armstrong, Friday, 6 September 2013 10:32 (twelve years ago)

No they picked him up in the surveillance van, which he got into happily.

TracerHandVEVO (Tracer Hand), Friday, 6 September 2013 10:45 (twelve years ago)

surprised that Jesse was still (sort of) willing to co-operate with the DEA after his initial anger subsided. hope he escapes Hank somehow and gets some freelance revenge

cerealbar, Friday, 6 September 2013 12:32 (twelve years ago)

Jesse is pretty fucking scared at this point and thinks Hank is the lesser of two evils.

Matt DC, Friday, 6 September 2013 12:50 (twelve years ago)

I like the potential for a Hank and Jesse buddy cop movie dynamic. Really hoping Jesse's plan will necessitate Hank and Gomie reluctantly bro-ing down with Skinny Pete and Badger.

If so, then wouldn't Walt's call to Todd about needed Todd's uncle to do one more job most likely be a prison killing like the last job.

todd is hanging around guys who casually wipe blood off their boots in diner bathrooms, don't think he'll have to look too far to find somebody to hit jesse, tho if jesse confessed to killing gale on that video yeah he'll prolly be in an orange jumpsuit next eps

a hard dom is good to find (Edward III), Friday, 6 September 2013 14:44 (twelve years ago)

ugh that boot-wiping scene, and the tank of chemicals in the parking lot, just made me kind of amazed at how far we are from Gus Fring perfectionism

space is deep (mh), Friday, 6 September 2013 14:46 (twelve years ago)

gus and walt really were a match made in some fastidious heaven

Oh duh yeah. I knew I should dismiss my minds 4am conclusions. Especially those based on an episode where act 1 and act 2 run in parallel.

"Max's Original Starship" Vol. 3 (sunny successor), Friday, 6 September 2013 16:14 (twelve years ago)

Kind of expect the allegiances to shift at least once per episode from now on.

Matt DC, Friday, 6 September 2013 16:20 (twelve years ago)

Think a major character goes down this week?

Should we do a death pool poll for each week's show from here on in?

brio, Friday, 6 September 2013 16:28 (twelve years ago)

no

kinder, Friday, 6 September 2013 16:47 (twelve years ago)

Breaking Bad Death Pool Poll - Season 5 - Episode 13 (Sept 8 2013)

brio, Friday, 6 September 2013 16:47 (twelve years ago)

ah you fecker

kinder, Friday, 6 September 2013 16:48 (twelve years ago)

too late

brio, Friday, 6 September 2013 16:48 (twelve years ago)

why have you got Walt Jr and Flynn separately?

kinder, Friday, 6 September 2013 16:49 (twelve years ago)

in case Flynn fakes Walt Jr's death obviously

what's up ugly girls? (Shakey Mo Collier), Friday, 6 September 2013 16:49 (twelve years ago)

walt sr and jr are separate options - though I guess walt sr doesn't make sense unless if you have some really far out theories

brio, Friday, 6 September 2013 16:51 (twelve years ago)

Walt Jr and his 'dark passenger' Flynn

kinder, Friday, 6 September 2013 16:53 (twelve years ago)

but they're not separate options on the poll

brio, Friday, 6 September 2013 16:55 (twelve years ago)

You have Walt Jr on the poll twice, once with 'Flynn' in the name and once without. They are the same character.

kinder, Friday, 6 September 2013 17:00 (twelve years ago)

Oh shit oops

brio, Friday, 6 September 2013 17:02 (twelve years ago)

When Walt Jr. learns about his father's secret life, it will be the death of his innocence and thus, the death of Walt Jr. The transformation into Flynn will be complete. Follow his story in next season's Breaking Flynn.

carl agatha, Friday, 6 September 2013 17:17 (twelve years ago)

I already started a couple of "who dies?" speculation polls a while ago:

Breaking Bad endgame speculation, part 1: Walt's fate (spoilers, obviously)

Breaking Bad endgame speculation, part 2: the other main characters (spoilers, obviously)

curse this thread/congratulations to this thread for succeeding in drawing me into musing about potential developments in plot, usually as a reader/viewer I'm able to sustain a childish "I have no ideas or guesses about what happens next" and now I'm like "no, somebody has to die this week, it's time for a significant death, this week also has to include Lydia doesn't it feel like she's gonna be on Team Walt in the coming developments somehow"

so yeah that's my prediction for this week is we see Lydia and somebody dies
