I honestly can't imagine anyone outside of the show's fictional universe giving a shit if Walt Jr. finds out, or dies, or whatever. Walt Jr. has really been given the short end of the narrative stick. Saul's henchmen have had more lines/scenes.

Walt: "White power."
Walt fires.

I don't see why he'd be playing wires with Jesse if Jesse really completely ratted Walt out.
Without evidence it's Jesse's story (confession of a junkie) vs. Walt's story about Hank (confession of an upstanding chemistry teacher with terminal cancer)
― dmr, Thursday, 5 September 2013 14:32 (twelve years ago)
Or whatever other story solid-citizen Walt could come up with

There must be a trace of something, somewhere, that everyone concerned has forgotten about (including Walt). The main thing protecting him so far is that for as long as he's operating outside the DEA, Hank can't go anywhere near Saul.
― Matt DC, Thursday, 5 September 2013 16:09 (twelve years ago)

To what extent could he investigate Saul anyway? Lawyer/client confidentiality and all that.

― space is deep (mh), Thursday, 5 September 2013 16:13 (twelve years ago)
like, Saul keeps a level of plausible deniability but he has people on his payroll who are doing things that are not too legal
Theyve forgotten the cartel tape of jesse cooking but that certainly doesnt incriminate Walt

I wonder if Jesse said anything to Hank about Gale or not - seems like he would have if he was just purging everything he knew but Hank never made any offer of immunity or anything so he's pretty fucked if he did. Unless he's beyond caring.
― joygoat, Thursday, 5 September 2013 17:33 (twelve years ago)
if he confessed (and I think he did - hence Hank's "junkie murderer" comment), then the cops could totally hang the murder on him (after all, they have a body, a crime scene etc.) But Hank wants Walt, not Jesse.
― what's up ugly girls? (Shakey Mo Collier), Thursday, 5 September 2013 17:39 (twelve years ago)
Jesse in his bleary eyed silence in the last few episodes reminded me of Frodo staring at the ring, transfixed and hypnotized by evil. Don't think he would've held anything back from his confession for self-preservation.
There was definitely a suffering saint feeling in a number of the shots of him sitting still in front of the aquarium or whatever that was in his house, or while the cops were talking at him, and then of course turning his face up to heaven as he sees a better way.
I think it's setting up for Jesse to be the martyr who tries to sacrifice himself to bring down the devil.
― Plasmon, Thursday, 5 September 2013 19:03 (twelve years ago)
That sounds horribly plausible. The way Jesse switches from full-on twitchy paranoia, walking towards Walt on that bench, to a relaxed, almost beatific grin on the phone once he has decided on his way to get him. It's like he sees a light at the end of the tunnel, a release from his living hell.
― TracerHandVEVO (Tracer Hand), Thursday, 5 September 2013 19:13 (twelve years ago)
Hank would never go for a plan that hurts Walt Jr or Holly so I'm not sure what Jesse's plan really is but we shall see

― what's up ugly girls? (Shakey Mo Collier), Thursday, 5 September 2013 19:22 (twelve years ago)
My current pointless prognostication is that Jessie just outs Walt to the entire local community. "Hitting him where he lives" is removing the barriers between his false identity as "mister rogers with lung cancer" and drug kingpin. Maybe just posting a gazillion photos around town with "THIS MAN SELLS DRUGS", speaking with a local tv station about the car wash as a money-laundering operation. Hank can't do that without burden of proof but if Jessie really has cashed it in, I could see him deciding that would be the best way to go. It would also fit well with the flash-forwards of Walt being a neighborhood pariah and having HEISENBERG spray painted on his home. That would give skyler the legit out of divorce and taking the kids away from walt and even if it didn't see Walt put in jail, it would demolish his life.

that would ruin Hank too tho
― what's up ugly girls? (Shakey Mo Collier), Thursday, 5 September 2013 19:39 (twelve years ago)
Yeah, but i think they can find a way to make that part work.i would suggest that if you wanna trust the context clues you have to extrapolate why the white home of the future is an empty husk with HEISENBERG scrawled on the wall. It's clearly been repossessed which suggests that the state/feds seize walter's (or skylers?) possessions. The HEISENBERG thing means that, at least on the street level, it leaks out that Walter is Scarface. And the "Hello Carol" grocery dropping means that the neighborhood is very much aware he's a druglord too. So the question is how do we get to all that in the next two or three episodes. Jessie revealing Mista White's double identity to the general public, maybe via a "MY TEACHER WAS MY DRUG DEALER" story in the local news seems like a reasonable way to get there.honestly tho, second guessing a teevee show is a mug's game, dunno why i'm playing

― what's up ugly girls? (Shakey Mo Collier), Thursday, 5 September 2013 20:20 (twelve years ago)
When are we going to get to 52-year old Walt, I wonder. Like, is that the last episode? Second to last?
― polyphonic, Thursday, 5 September 2013 20:28 (twelve years ago)
Going public would also mean any time that Walt's family, whether it's his wife and kids or even their kids, attempted to use any money it'd be incredibly suspect. People would protest the hell of their car wash making it implausible that they'd have enough income to write off the laundered money. If they tried buying real estate elsewhere, someone would figure it out or leak it to the local press. They'd all have to get new identities and start over somewhere.

― what's up ugly girls? (Shakey Mo Collier), Thursday, 5 September 2013 20:37 (twelve years ago)
They have the Whitman book, which at the least is a circumstantial connection between Walt and Gale, who was a murdered meth cooker. Between that and Jesse, that's something. But not hard evidence, I guess.
― Josh in Chicago, Thursday, 5 September 2013 20:38 (twelve years ago)
think they already discounted the book - handwriting analysis not reliable etc.
― what's up ugly girls? (Shakey Mo Collier), Thursday, 5 September 2013 20:44 (twelve years ago)
Jesse and Hank should just go on the Perd Hapley Show and set things straight
― polyphonic, Thursday, 5 September 2013 20:46 (twelve years ago)
think it was the opposite actually. they said the handwriting matched. still doesn't prove anything except Walt may have known Gale. (xp)
― dmr, Thursday, 5 September 2013 20:47 (twelve years ago)
Which is still pretty bad, if the guy clearly knew a meth cook who was murdered in the midst of his meth cooking!
― Josh in Chicago, Thursday, 5 September 2013 20:49 (twelve years ago)
eh could probably write it off plausibly as an academic connection, if we want to go there.
