Shall we anticipate the FIFTH SEASON of the AMC series "Breaking Bad"? I think I may.

I know BB doesn't conform to Occam's Razor much - but the simplest interpretation of Jesse's threat to "hit you where you really live" seems like he plans to reveal the truth about Walt to Walt Jr.

This works plot-wise too because presumably Jesse has to convince Hank to be in on his plan, and Hank wants to get Walt Jr away from Walt so he would go for this.

brio, Tuesday, 3 September 2013 16:13 (twelve years ago)

I reckon that's what's going to happen too, although I suspect he's going to go direct to Skyler rather than Junior. I can't remember if Jesse and Walter Jr have ever been in the same place at the same time.

Matt DC, Tuesday, 3 September 2013 16:17 (twelve years ago)

Not sure Skyler and Walt Junior have ever been in the same place at the same time. At least not since breakfasts in season two.

Wantaway striker (LocalGarda), Tuesday, 3 September 2013 16:18 (twelve years ago)

for all we know about walt jr he could be running his own meth empire.

Wantaway striker (LocalGarda), Tuesday, 3 September 2013 16:18 (twelve years ago)

Also Todd and the Nazis trying to kill Jesse but going over-the-top with it and causing some tragic blowback for Walt is almost a given, I think.

"Sorry I had to shoot your baby, Mr. White, but she saw everything."

brio, Tuesday, 3 September 2013 16:21 (twelve years ago)

Would Walt Jr wear a wire though? And wouldn't Walt just tell Jr his story about Hank being the meth kingpin?

Blandford Forum, Tuesday, 3 September 2013 16:23 (twelve years ago)

100 per cent. I said already I reckon it's going to be Hank and Marie getting wasted in this showdown, poss Walt Jr too.

Wantaway striker (LocalGarda), Tuesday, 3 September 2013 16:24 (twelve years ago)

I think Junior's sympathies might lie with whoever is straight with him (finally, for once in his life) first.

cops on horse (WilliamC), Tuesday, 3 September 2013 16:24 (twelve years ago)

Walter Junior totally idolises Hank though, he just wouldn't believe that. Also Walt had that weird breakdown in front of him last season, coupled with a shitload of other unexplained weird behaviour.

Someone at work pointed out that Walter Jr was wearing a hoodie like Jesse in the last episode so there could be a case of mistaken identity. I'm pretty sceptical about that given Todd has never seen Jesse being, y'know, obviously disabled, but that would be pretty fucking horrible all round.

Matt DC, Tuesday, 3 September 2013 16:26 (twelve years ago)

what if they mistake the baby for jesse

socki (s1ocki), Tuesday, 3 September 2013 16:28 (twelve years ago)

oh god please lets not have walt holding walt jrs dying body after a tragic kwinkydink and having a "for what is a man profited..." moment

da croupier, Tuesday, 3 September 2013 16:29 (twelve years ago)

Is Flynn supposed to be kind of hopelessly naive at time or actually kind of dumb? I feel like the writers are kind of lazy sometimes and take the fact that he's disabled means he's somehow an idiot, too

space is deep (mh), Tuesday, 3 September 2013 16:31 (twelve years ago)

Did Jesse tell Hank about Gale, I wonder?

i think so, only because hank referred to him as a 'junkie murderer' out on the balcony. murderer would have been a pretty big thing to assume/throw around otherwise.

It took Hank four and a half seasons to work it out and he was obsessively looking.

Matt DC, Tuesday, 3 September 2013 16:34 (twelve years ago)

Yeah, I didn't mean the meth kingpin thing, just his general intelligence. Pretty average teenager, I guess.

would be great if the season turned out to be an extended homage to godfather 3

socki (s1ocki), Tuesday, 3 September 2013 16:37 (twelve years ago)

show ends with walt falling out of a chair by a trailer in the desert

i can't really think of too many situations off hand where flynn is being stupid rather than a little green when people play to his vanity - the "Save My Daddy" website, Walt buying him cool cars, flynngate, etc. lots of kids know something's fishy with their parents but don't "figure it out," and this guy's parents are having ish far outside the usual realm.

da croupier, Tuesday, 3 September 2013 16:39 (twelve years ago)

walt's flashback during the chair collapse would have to breakfast, obvs

da croupier, Tuesday, 3 September 2013 16:40 (twelve years ago)

be breakfast, damn my lack of proofing

da croupier, Tuesday, 3 September 2013 16:40 (twelve years ago)

now I'm wondering if my dad was a drug kingpin. sure would explain the '93 lebaron...

christmas candy bar (al leong), Tuesday, 3 September 2013 16:40 (twelve years ago)

nothing explains a '93 lebaron

space is deep (mh), Tuesday, 3 September 2013 16:41 (twelve years ago)

maybe the twist is walt jr learns the truth but stays loyal to his dad, in keeping with his relationship with his dad so far, and somehow tragically tries to help walt sr

brio, Tuesday, 3 September 2013 16:43 (twelve years ago)

by cooking up his own adorable teenage attempt at meth?

he tries the shake-and-bake method but drops the container and can't get out before it blows up

it turns out to be 99.3% pure. tensions develop.

i'm sure walt jr will survive, word is he'll be the huggy bear on Saul's upcoming nawlins PI show

da croupier, Tuesday, 3 September 2013 17:01 (twelve years ago)

Least satisfying possible turn: Jesse tells Skyler, who then in turn kills Jesse. Skyler corrupted, Jesse dead, Walt hands to heavens, yelling "noooooooooooo!"

Josh in Chicago, Tuesday, 3 September 2013 17:31 (twelve years ago)

right now my money is on a "noooo!" followed by a "say hello to my little friend!"

da croupier, Tuesday, 3 September 2013 17:36 (twelve years ago)

what's up ugly girls? (Shakey Mo Collier), Tuesday, 3 September 2013 19:00 (twelve years ago)

They've repeatedly shown that Walter Jr is mean to be pretty smart for his age - doing well at school, building that Help Walter White website etc.

Matt DC, Tuesday, 3 September 2013 20:52 (twelve years ago)

hard to gauge since the actor ages in real time and Walt Jr. is just over a year older than he was at the start of the series

space is deep (mh), Tuesday, 3 September 2013 20:56 (twelve years ago)

and his character has basically no part in the narrative of the show nor any storylines whatsoever.

(Gomie's wearing a wire; will bust those still standing at just the right time. Will know it when he sees it.)

What is the Gomie's full name? If I was a Hispanic dea agent getting called Gomie by some lardass grandstander all the time, I'd pop him in the mouth...

uh have you watched the earlier episodes where hank basically calls him a wetback

what's up ugly girls? (Shakey Mo Collier), Tuesday, 3 September 2013 23:07 (twelve years ago)

Yeah come to think of it I have heard Hank call him that...rewatching from the start w/ my wife. I kinda hate Hank and want to see him fall on his tookus bad at this point.

BlackIronPrison, Tuesday, 3 September 2013 23:10 (twelve years ago)

Walt Jr. just seems like such a wimp. When he's not eating breakfast, he's constantly crying and whimpering. He should learn to chill like his sister.

Josh in Chicago, Tuesday, 3 September 2013 23:15 (twelve years ago)

the writers put Hank through a lot of humiliating/humanizing shit, which sort of obscures his racist/fascist alpha male tendencies.

what's up ugly girls? (Shakey Mo Collier), Tuesday, 3 September 2013 23:17 (twelve years ago)

Hey, he was just messing around with Gomie. They're bros.

Josh in Chicago, Tuesday, 3 September 2013 23:23 (twelve years ago)
