i can see the logic of preferring your guns to the right to vote, it's less about a 'frontier' mentality than trying to keep the ultimate source of all power -- force -- in private, trusted hands, while remaining skeptical of ultimately metaphyisical claims of state legitimacy conferred merely by a show of hands.

Was driving up Lyndale south of Lake the other day and was struck by the fact that almost every tree along the stretch has a green ribbon around it.
