Haha.

Jordan (Jordan), Thursday, 2 March 2006 16:06 (twenty years ago)

I am still reeling from the revelation that Amanda is not a natural redhead.

I keep imagining the new hair, and I like it.

jaymc (jaymc), Thursday, 2 March 2006 16:08 (twenty years ago)

I just had someone take a photo...stay tuned!

The Milkmaid (of human kindness) (The Milkmaid), Thursday, 2 March 2006 16:19 (twenty years ago)

i can't hold my breath forever!!

Sweet Tater (kelstarry), Thursday, 2 March 2006 16:31 (twenty years ago)

the guy who took the photo isn't at his desk right now for me to pester him. it's permanent hair dye, so it'll be this way for a while. doncha worry, pet.

The Milkmaid (of human kindness) (The Milkmaid), Thursday, 2 March 2006 16:35 (twenty years ago)

What's your natural hair color, again?

Jordan (Jordan), Thursday, 2 March 2006 16:36 (twenty years ago)

"brown" -- the color now is much closer (though a leetle darker) than my natural color.

The Milkmaid (of human kindness) (The Milkmaid), Thursday, 2 March 2006 16:37 (twenty years ago)

That makes sense.

Maddie dyed her hair very red before New Orleans, didn't like it, and then died it dark brown the next night. I think. I have this weird thing where I can't tell much of a difference until two weeks later, when I say "oh yeah, you did dye your hair."

Jordan (Jordan), Thursday, 2 March 2006 16:40 (twenty years ago)

Amanda, I bet everyone was just too intimidated by your beauty to say anything at first.

After my next payday (yeah, my last one was just yesterday, but I'm already pining for the next one, ha ha) I plan to get a haircut and highlites again. I can only afford to get them once a year. ha ha.

Sarah Madkitten McLusky (coco), Thursday, 2 March 2006 16:43 (twenty years ago)

I don't know who would be intimidated by this: Dig the new hair, which is flat and greasy because I haven't washed it for three days. Also dig the purple sweater and hunchback.

The Milkmaid (of human kindness) (The Milkmaid), Thursday, 2 March 2006 17:04 (twenty years ago)

I am here until, oh, probably Tuesday.

Also I think I am still drunk from last night. Whee! : (

Casuistry (Chris P), Thursday, 2 March 2006 17:04 (twenty years ago)

Also I think I am still drunk from last night.

I felt that way when I got up, too. Now I think I'm just tired.

Sorry I bailed w/o saying bye last night, C and J - I went out to talk on the phone, saw a bus, and took it.

Steely Df'nM (OutDatWay), Thursday, 2 March 2006 17:08 (twenty years ago)

Totally.

jaymc (jaymc), Thursday, 2 March 2006 17:09 (twenty years ago)

Also, I was starting to think the girl bartender was really cute. Not to say that she wasn't, but generally when that kind of thing starts happening to me I've had enough to drink.

Steely Df'nM (OutDatWay), Thursday, 2 March 2006 17:10 (twenty years ago)

You've had enough to drink when you think she's cute AND might actually be TOTALLY into you.

gbx (skowly), Thursday, 2 March 2006 17:11 (twenty years ago)

Totally.

Steely Df'nM (OutDatWay), Thursday, 2 March 2006 17:12 (twenty years ago)

She was cute, but not as cute as the gal who did the sound! OMG. Of course, she was exponentially cuter because she was a SOUND GAL. At one point, after sound-check, she was sitting at the bar reading some sort of sound-engineer magazine. :-D

jaymc (jaymc), Thursday, 2 March 2006 17:13 (twenty years ago)

I like the bartender at the emptybottle that gives me free sodas.

Jeff. (Jeff), Thursday, 2 March 2006 17:15 (twenty years ago)

I don't even remember a girl bartender. I was mostly thinking, "oh, this is such a relatively reasonable price to be paying for this Maker's, how can I not order it?"

Casuistry (Chris P), Thursday, 2 March 2006 17:19 (twenty years ago)

My blog is working again. Hooray!

Paunchy Stratego (kenan), Thursday, 2 March 2006 17:22 (twenty years ago)

I know that girls have had too much to drink when they are actually totally into me.

Jordan (Jordan), Thursday, 2 March 2006 17:27 (twenty years ago)

is your girlfriend drunk, like, all the time?

gbx (skowly), Thursday, 2 March 2006 17:29 (twenty years ago)

She doesn't count, but as it happens, yes.

Jordan (Jordan), Thursday, 2 March 2006 17:30 (twenty years ago)

I like the bartender at the emptybottle that gives me free sodas.

i like the ones that give me free booze.

did the show go as well as the soundcheck?

chicago kevin (chicago kevin), Thursday, 2 March 2006 17:35 (twenty years ago)

I know I stole it from Eazy, but I really like using the word "gal" now. Guys are always "guys," from when they're teenagers until they're old men -- but it's rough transitioning from "girl" to "woman." "Women" always seem like they should be much older than I am, but at a certain age "girl" can start to sound condescending. So for now, "gal" it is.

jaymc (jaymc), Thursday, 2 March 2006 17:36 (twenty years ago)

The show was fine -- there were a couple of blatant mistakes (band members either coming in too early or too late), but otherwise I thought we played pretty well!

jaymc (jaymc), Thursday, 2 March 2006 17:37 (twenty years ago)

but it's rough transitioning from "girl" to "woman."
You're tellin' me.

The Milkmaid (of human kindness) (The Milkmaid), Thursday, 2 March 2006 17:37 (twenty years ago)

I've got a gaaaaal
In Kalamazoo zoo zoo

jocelyn (Jocelyn), Thursday, 2 March 2006 17:39 (twenty years ago)

Sorry. Anyway, I like your hair, Amanda! My roots are starting to show but I can't afford to get mine dyed right now, so I'm using that new John Frieda color gloss thing in the hopes that it will make dull brown more auburn. My used didn't used to be dull brown, that's the sad thing.

jocelyn (Jocelyn), Thursday, 2 March 2006 17:40 (twenty years ago)

Do it yourself, at home! I did. I think it looks better than those pictures represent, but maybe I'm wearing rosy glasses.

The Milkmaid (of human kindness) (The Milkmaid), Thursday, 2 March 2006 17:41 (twenty years ago)

PS - Thank you.

The Milkmaid (of human kindness) (The Milkmaid), Thursday, 2 March 2006 17:41 (twenty years ago)

I think men are always boys...hence me hollering from the 3rd floor last night, in order to get help moving heavy things: "HEY DOWNSTAIRS, I NEED A BOY."

Laurel (Laurel), Thursday, 2 March 2006 17:41 (twenty years ago)

Sassy.

jocelyn (Jocelyn), Thursday, 2 March 2006 17:42 (twenty years ago)

What should a sick boy eat for lunch? Salad?

Jordan (Jordan), Thursday, 2 March 2006 17:44 (twenty years ago)

XP: Not really. I think you'd have to see the boyz/men involved to understand just HOW not sassy.

Laurel (Laurel), Thursday, 2 March 2006 17:44 (twenty years ago)

All the same, boys love hearing that kind of thing.

Steely Df'nM (OutDatWay), Thursday, 2 March 2006 17:45 (twenty years ago)

Amanda: love the hair!

ohhhh

Jordan (Jordan), Thursday, 2 March 2006 17:46 (twenty years ago)

Does that encourage manchildish behavior though? Because the manchild is not to be encouraged. He has enough fuel.

The Milkmaid (of human kindness) (The Milkmaid), Thursday, 2 March 2006 17:46 (twenty years ago)

is everyone moving and breaking up at the same time? definitely makes me think spring is just around the corner.

i moved on tuesday and there isn't a part of me that isn't still aching. when i was putting my bedframe and bed back together tuesday night the king sized mattress almost flopped over on top of me. i envisioned being trapped under it and dying there alone in my basement apartment only being found when i didn't show up for work for 3 days straight. when i successfully got the mattress on the box springs i was, for the first time in a while, genuinely pleased with what i'd done. i felt victorious. then i remembered that all i'd done was put a fucking mattress on a box spring. i think i should be aiming higher.

chicago kevin (chicago kevin), Thursday, 2 March 2006 17:46 (twenty years ago)

king sized bed? !!

The Milkmaid (of human kindness) (The Milkmaid), Thursday, 2 March 2006 17:47 (twenty years ago)

also: i don't know how i feel about gal. i want to like it, but i kind of don't.

jaymc (jaymc), Thursday, 2 March 2006 17:48 (twenty years ago)

king sized bed? !!

i'm all arms and legs, i need the room. plus it's fun to have all that room for, well, y'know.

chicago kevin (chicago kevin), Thursday, 2 March 2006 17:48 (twenty years ago)

All the same, boys love hearing that kind of thing

Sure, but it's getting the sassy ones within earshot that's the problem. Also, yeah, to nix the manchild fodder I might have to move on from "boys'.

Kevin, next you put the boxspring on a bedframe. THEN you celebrate.

Laurel (Laurel), Thursday, 2 March 2006 17:49 (twenty years ago)

But you like "toots", Kelsey?

I *wish* I had a king size. Maddie and I both sprawl too much for a queen.

Jordan (Jordan), Thursday, 2 March 2006 17:50 (twenty years ago)

I'm a big fan of "lady." Especially when adressing my female friends, because it adds a touch of class to conversation.

Alternately, it adds a touch of Jerry Lewis.

Steely Df'nM (OutDatWay), Thursday, 2 March 2006 17:50 (twenty years ago)

I was searching for the Britney image, but John beat me to it. Has anyone else seen Crossroads and enjoyed it?

Dan, but watch out for "ladyfriend" - gals take offense to that sometimes, especially if you've got something going on with them, especially, like, occasionally!

Eazy (Eazy), Thursday, 2 March 2006 17:52 (twenty years ago)

LADY! FROM THE MOMENT I SAAAAAW YOU...

The Milkmaid (of human kindness) (The Milkmaid), Thursday, 2 March 2006 17:52 (twenty years ago)

Love "toots." Although, if someone I didn't know called me toots, I'd be all, "Who does he think he is?"

I had to watch Crossroads for a job I had at that time. The best thing about it was the DVD extra where they show you how to make the t-shirts the girls were wearing. I'm saying girls here on purpose.
