HA! I love you for asking that. They tried to kick me out because I was standing up and dancing and at the O2 Arena if you're in the stands you have to be seated. The very next day I went to the concert and convinced everyone in my row and the row in front of us to stand and dance during a song and it created a wave like affect. Everyone was dancing and they couldn't stop us all. So fuck you O2 Arena!

I read some interview (maybe one of those linked above?) where it was said they originally didn't want to cast Paul because he was too good-looking for the role.

You have to wonder what'll happen to the two main actors after the series is over... Can they use it as a springboard to bigger things, or will they forever be defined by their BB roles? I can imagine Cranston continuing as a character actor, he's pretty chameleon-like in other things I've seen him in, but what about Paul? Has anyone seen him in any other show/movie?

Dunno about that. You might have said the same thing about Chiklis a few years back. It's easy to conflate the quality of the writing and the ensemble cast with the individual talents.

paul was in big love, cranstons been in all sorts of stuff and seems like hell do well as a character actor in big movies and the star of small ones

anyways... whilst anticipating the most recent episode, i showed the g/f the pilot. we'd finished the first season over the weekend and now she has crushed the 2nd and half of the 3rd season! her live update texts have been adorable.

That is impressive. I think the first season is the only one we've watched marathon style and thank goodness because I think I would be a twitching nervous wreck otherwise. 2.5 seasons over a weekend would kill me.

we went away for a week after she saw the 1st season - so she had a bit of a break before the marathon restarted with season two. but still - all of season two, in two days! o_O

this is the first season i won't be watching marathon style and i don't like this waiting a whole week for the next epsiode business.

aaron paul has a superb voice and i think voice is the thing i care most about when it comes to actors.

I saw "Smashed" - Aaron Paul is okay in it, not really a big jump from Jesse. The movie is more about Mary Elizabeth Winstead's character, though. They shot it right in my old neighborhood. It's not a great movie but that dude's new movie Spectacular Now is supposed to be great. It does not feature Aaron Paul as far as I know.

I want to see it

So I'm 5 episodes into season one and I'm gonna assume that feeling a bit underwhelmed at this point is normal. Most of the characterizations so far, even Walt, but especially his dumb cop bro-in-law and his b-boy partner, seem so lazy and one dimensional. The KEN WINS douchey-douche the most egeregious example. There are plenty of moments already, though, that point to something better to come.

Season 1 and to an extent, the first part of Season 2 are almost like a different show. I mean, it's quality, the writing is still there, but everything is so much more low-stakes (I'm speaking strictly in relativity here, cuz obv some big shit still happens).

my brother just got into the show and was on Season 2 and as I rewatched, I realized there were a lot of eps that were half bottle-episode. but it worked due to the writing/acting.
