the show is much more interested in how far and randomly the tendrils of evil can creep

reminds me of that episode of Full House when Uncle Jesse had to explain to Michelle why he wasn't allowed within 500 feet of her school

Neanderthal, Wednesday, 14 August 2013 01:37 (twelve years ago)

my current theory is this: because walt's meth money basically fixed hank, *something* will happen that involves hank dying in a way that really heightens that particular favour, demanding the most guilt-laden, gut-wrenching emotional response from walt, and walt won't show any remorse at all.

i cannot think of a better way to word this, but that's probably why i'm not writing for a show like breaking bad. fuck.

Autumn Almanac, Wednesday, 14 August 2013 11:46 (twelve years ago)

I can see Walt's money being used for Hank's treatment biting Hank in the ass in a professional way (especially now that he's The Chief, and therefore under a tighter public scrutiny), but I don't see how it would lead to Hank dying? If some criminal element follows the money trail, well, Walt was the one who made the money and spent it, why would they be interested in killing a guy he spent it on? (Unless they have a beef against Hank as a DEA officer, but that's not related to the money.)

Tuomas, Wednesday, 14 August 2013 12:09 (twelve years ago)

Actually, I can see Walt using Hank's treatment as leverage, if Hank refuses to "tread lightly"... If Hank threatens to bust Walt, the media will then find out his drug money benefitted the very cop who caught him.

Tuomas, Wednesday, 14 August 2013 12:16 (twelve years ago)

oh god yes

Autumn Almanac, Wednesday, 14 August 2013 12:26 (twelve years ago)

Huh. Given how quickly they revved this up, I can see Walt on the run as soon as the next episode. Also, I hope Hank has a WW file ready to go in a safe, secure location. You know, in the event of his untimely death. And $5 million dollars literally scattered all over a bad neighborhood will also attract the attention of the police, so my guess is that things will move even faster. Maybe Walt takes Lydia up on her request, goes back to work, but thinks he can redeem himself by taking it down from the inside? Like, everything else is gone or dead to him, and he's dying, so he figures, screw it, everything else is going down with me.

Anyway, good to have the show back.

Josh in Chicago, Wednesday, 14 August 2013 12:33 (twelve years ago)

the thing is, you come off one episode with an excellent idea of what might happen in the next, and then they turn the whole thing upside down. they're always fifty steps ahead. actual genius.

Autumn Almanac, Wednesday, 14 August 2013 12:52 (twelve years ago)

Well, the flash forward negates at least a few possibilities. Like, Walt gets out of Hank's garage, that's for sure.

Josh in Chicago, Wednesday, 14 August 2013 13:46 (twelve years ago)

does he take his glasses tho or is that when he gets the new glasses

lag∞n, Wednesday, 14 August 2013 13:49 (twelve years ago)

i hope it's something as exciting as the media finding out about hank's treatment!!!

socki (s1ocki), Wednesday, 14 August 2013 15:38 (twelve years ago)

If Walt thought Gus and Madrigal were bad, wait until he has to face the media!

Ha! Let's be honest, anyone that follows Obama or me on Twitter knows that Obama is a huge Breaking Bad fan and he doesn't mind saying the word "bitch" over Twitter, which is very exciting to me and the entire American public.

okay this has to be repeated though

AP, why did you get kicked out of that Radiohead concert? Did you dance too hard? Was Thom jeal of your moves?

theaaronpaul**Aaron Paul**3550 points 1 day ago
HA! I love you for asking that. They tried to kick me out because I was standing up and dancing and at the O2 Arena if you're in the stands you have to be seated. The very next day I went to the concert and convinced everyone in my row and the row in front of us to stand and dance during a song and it created a wave like affect. Everyone was dancing and they couldn't stop us all. So fuck you O2 Arena!

I read some interview (maybe one of those linked above?) where it was said they originally didn't want to cast Paul because he was too good-looking for the role.

You have to wonder what'll happen to the two main actors after the series is over... Can they use it as a springboard to bigger things, or will they forever be defined by their BB roles? I can imagine Cranston continuing as a character actor, he's pretty chameleon-like in other things I've seen him in, but what about Paul? Has anyone seen him in any other show/movie?

Tuomas, Thursday, 15 August 2013 06:25 (twelve years ago)
