i read a book about the misfits a while ago, written in a vaguely academic idiom. it said something like new jersey was an alienated, dysfunctional environment which is why it produced a band as cynical, antisocial, and "crazy" as the misfits. fuck that book.

both my parents did radio, plus i do this stuff a lot already for political work, so i'm half practiced as far as amateurs go

you do a good job of sounding lively and engaged. i recorded audiobooks for "recording for the blind" last summer and i could not manage to find that middle ground between monotone zombie and crazy person.

stress is a real trixter, i gather so far

it's a very relevant issue for me. i used to have issues with anxiety and now, in order to avoid that, i kind of avoid stuff that is stressful as long as possible... leading to more stress down the line. i need to learn to make stress work for me.

saturday night has been a trip to the laundromat and making sure the new cat is doing ok. she is.
