OTM. When my AC went out in NOLA in July I stayed in a hotel for two nights until it was fixed b/c sleep was just not possible.

God we are having these crazy problems with elecrical surges in our apartment so the lights are constantly flickering and the AC fan is like vroooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooo.... OOOOOOOOOOO...MMMMMMmmMMMM and I just sent our poor landlord a frantic email reminding him that it's hot and telling him that I will cry if our electricity goes out and we lose our AC.

Getting up when it's hot is a matter of heat.
Going to sleep when it's hot is a matter of booze.

I joke that I have "summer SAD" but seriously I get bad anxiety when I have to be outside and it's this hot, especially if I'm in direct sunlight. Part of it is just general "We're all going to die horrible deaths in global warming's molten cauldron," eschatological terror that I've had in some form or another since I was an 80s cold war kid and watched too much news, but part of it is just some brain-stem level response to being too effing hot.

I felt the same way about the spring thread, too. I totally had to do some cognitive "living in the moment" exercises starting around March to avoid working myself into a lather of utter dread about this summer.

Found out this week that those people in whites in the training centre canteen kitchen are wearing them over the blue uniform the rest of the staff are wearing. Those already look none the coolest, & it's hot enough without a uniform. &hotter still in a kitchen.

I don't like summer, but the worst part of summer for me is not the heat, but people walking around going "fffffffwwwwwwwwwwwwooorrrr!!! isn't it hot today!!!" because I know it's hot but I'm trying to mentally block it out.

I need a moisture-wicking "lady" bra. Like, not a squashing sports bra, but a normal bra, made out of weird mesh material. Maybe with some cooling gel packs and a fan inbuilt.

This summer has been so sweet for Arkansas. Ive only felt physical violated by humidity maybe twice. Its usually countless times by now.

Dont get me wrong, were still running AC pretty high plus all ceiling fans but I dont feel like I need a shower as soon as I get out of the shower and even outdoors I can BREATHE

picked up a vacuum cleaner from craigslist. 7 blocks. figured 8.30 would be ok to beat the heat. lol nope. second shower of the day.

FFM, if I were driving distance I would be strongly lobbying Jeff to let us come get that kitten because it is ADORABLE and it would match Francie.

I will try to snap chat the little thing later :) Wish she could chill with Francie too! Hope I can find a home for her before my sister falls completely in love, neither of us have vet money really!
