Xp LL, i have done that, but not usually with an "end game" like, I want to take this person home/get their #. I was in a relationship for a reaaallly long time though, that ended very recently.

i think i only once set out with a long term plan to get into a relationship with a person i'd seen at a distance who look intersting. the plan mostly involved reading books at a bar we both frequented. it worked. thanks, Baader Meinhof gang!

Yeah, I decided that spending time around people who called women "bitches" was more trouble than it was worth, even if the core of ppl that I was friends with didn't do that--the wider group did. Plus the group msg board was practically wallpapered with swimsuit avatars and naked women in ppl's sig files and men calling other men pussies and I just couldn't.

I think the people I have for-real crushed on hard are ones that I have seldom approached, and then it builds to this crescendo of me skittering from the room or being super-awkward. Best to approach someone before it gets to that point and they're so super-human that they seem unattainable.
