Good height too. Sarwan wouldve been a great wicket. He's playing very well. Will probably be made to regret that.

Sarwan out on 94. He had a touch of the KP disease there. Tried to bring up his century with a 6 and hits straight to fred. He looks utterly disgusted with himself.

He smashed his bat into the ground

Fred takes a few wkts to bowl WI out but clearly isnt fit. Really struggling so a remarkable effort by the big man. Harmison is clearly quite ill but bowled manfully too with decent pace (and making himself more sick in the process) was unlucky not to get a few wickets. Not enforcing follow in since the bowlers arent fit. Botham and co are moaning like fuck but you cant blame strauss. Im sure they know more about how ill/injured they are than botham and willis in their comfy chairs. Now lets hope england dont give away cheap wkts chasing quick runs. Add a quick 150 by lunch tomorrow is i assume the plan. Lets see what happens. Lose a couple tonight and batting again will have been the wrong decision.

Umpires consistent with their (wrong) decisions. Shah hit on the foot infront of the stumps and given not out.

Pitch doesn't appear to have deteriorated
― The User Formerly Known As Pfunkboy Latterly Known as.. (Herman G. Neuname), Wednesday, 18 February 2009 15:11 (seventeen years ago)
Shah out for 14. Eng 97-3. Things going slowly and I dont think England will have enough time to bowl out WI the way things are going. Pitch seems fine maybe a lil slow.
― The User Formerly Known As Pfunkboy Latterly Known as.. (Herman G. Neuname), Wednesday, 18 February 2009 15:28 (seventeen years ago)
Hope KP is in better form. Need a lot of runs from him quickly.

I dont think England will have enough time to bowl out WI the way things are going.
dude, this is the most volatile and liable-to-crack team in world cricket* we're talking about here
*since Pakistan basically retired from the game

Herman, you're the most pessimistic cricket fan I've ever conversed with, and by the standards of English cricket fans that is really saying something!
― zero learnt from nero (Neil S), Wednesday, 18 February 2009 15:55 (seventeen years ago)
I genuinely think this phase of play is the worst Test cricket I've ever seen :D

Freddie underlining my point beautifully there :D

when kp is on bowling the only thing you know is going to happen is that he gets hit around the ground. 10 off that over.

Anyone finding the sanctimony coming from the massed ranks of the British press over Stanford a little hard to take?
― zero learnt from nero (Neil S), Thursday, 19 February 2009 12:21 (seventeen years ago)
I always find Mihir Bose very hard to take, whatever he's talking about
― Queueing For Latchstrings (Tom D.), Thursday, 19 February 2009 12:24 (seventeen years ago)
He also has a way of stating the bleeding obvious whilst coming across as if he's stating facts of earth-shattering importance.

Draw it seems.
― The User Formerly Known As Pfunkboy Latterly Known as.. (Herman G. Neuname), Thursday, 19 February 2009 15:39 (seventeen years ago)
England seem incapable of winning these kind of matches at the moment. We seem to be better in low-scoring games, for whatever reason.
― zero learnt from nero (Neil S), Thursday, 19 February 2009 15:43 (seventeen years ago)
Plenty of time to go, surely?
― Queueing For Latchstrings (Tom D.), Thursday, 19 February 2009 15:47 (seventeen years ago)
25 overs lost, apparently light might be a factor later. Still, you'd think we'd be able to take 7 wickets in 70-odd overs.
― zero learnt from nero (Neil S), Thursday, 19 February 2009 15:48 (seventeen years ago)
Flintoff still crocked tho?
― Queueing For Latchstrings (Tom D.), Thursday, 19 February 2009 15:50 (seventeen years ago)
Only if you get shiv or sarwan out early. And that's not looking likely. Shiv doesnt fail 3 innings in a row. This is the kind of innings hes made for.Fred is injured
― The User Formerly Known As Pfunkboy Latterly Known as.. (Herman G. Neuname), Thursday, 19 February 2009 15:51 (seventeen years ago)
Broad and Anderson wont bowl anyone out so we need a fit fred. Harmison obv cant be relied upon either. My guess is if we win it will be because a spinner does it. Come on Swanny!
― The User Formerly Known As Pfunkboy Latterly Known as.. (Herman G. Neuname), Thursday, 19 February 2009 15:54 (seventeen years ago)
if the referral system had been in place this game wouldve been over yesterday as WI got the benefit this time. Sods law suggests they will get the benefit of it next test.

BOLLOCKS harmison couldnt get near that top edge from shiv. WI have the luck. games a draw.

Not over yet, Windies not exactly the most robust batting line-up from here on in

well now broad has got his man you are right. No guarantee England will win either. nicely poised now!

― zero learnt from nero (Neil S), Thursday, 19 February 2009 19:51 (seventeen years ago)
argh another wrong lbw decision. cant these umpires get anything right?
― The User Formerly Known As Pfunkboy Latterly Known as.. (Herman G. Neuname), Thursday, 19 February 2009 19:55 (seventeen years ago)
Koertzen gave that Nash decision though. Admittedly I'm listening to TMS.
― zero learnt from nero (Neil S), Thursday, 19 February 2009 19:57 (seventeen years ago)
the umpire who gave the Nash decision is not the umpire who just gave Ramdin not out
― I want sprinkles (country matters), Thursday, 19 February 2009 19:58 (seventeen years ago)
Harper then.
― zero learnt from nero (Neil S), Thursday, 19 February 2009 19:59 (seventeen years ago)
just illustrating the principle of how umpires operate from different ends, like bowlers
― I want sprinkles (country matters), Thursday, 19 February 2009 20:00 (seventeen years ago)
and yeah, that Ramdin decision was definitely one a few umpires would have given
