Is Alyson Hannigan a terrible actress or just doing a fine job playing a terrible actress?

VERONICA
Kind of a weird question, but is that your real hair color, Astrid?

ASTRID
You're right -- that is a weird question.

VERONICA
Flatulent sound effects for me???

CINDY
And bitter ranting for me!

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Sunday, 4 December 2005 23:02 (twenty years ago)

Is that Mac's real name, Cindy?

So are Mac and the rich kid going to hit it?

Erick Dampier is better than Shaq (miloaukerman), Sunday, 4 December 2005 23:04 (twenty years ago)

Her name is Cindy MacKenzie.

I really really hope not.

UPN's Veronica Mars site is a joke, by the way.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Sunday, 4 December 2005 23:07 (twenty years ago)

My big plan is to buy this somewhere on the Upper West Side today.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Monday, 5 December 2005 13:44 (twenty years ago)

I can't believe they did a 12 Angry Men episode. So played.

Erick Dampier is better than Shaq (miloaukerman), Thursday, 8 December 2005 03:12 (twenty years ago)

actually, I don't think the ratings are that bad. They have steadily improved and the fanbase just LOVES IT. So I bet there will be a third season, thank goodness. UPN ratings are never that great, it seems. Going to go watch the new episode now!

gunther heartymeal (keckles), Thursday, 8 December 2005 05:00 (twenty years ago)

Tonight's episode sucked. Gah. And on the one night when Lost wasn't playing against it.

Melissa W (Melissa W), Thursday, 8 December 2005 07:03 (twenty years ago)

That's too bad. The last three before this have been outstanding.

My sister and I watched Season 1, Discs 2 and 3 back to back last night and went to bed with large headaches. We would have kept watching if only we didn't have to wait for Netflix to send reimbursements.

Mary (Mary), Wednesday, 28 December 2005 05:51 (twenty years ago)

This season is just not nearly as good. At this point I've lost the motivation to watch the show when it airs.

polyphonic (polyphonic), Wednesday, 28 December 2005 09:07 (twenty years ago)

Sadly, I think I agree. I am holding out hope that things will get better when Duncan fucks off permanently.

Melissa W (Melissa W), Wednesday, 28 December 2005 15:48 (twenty years ago)

I disagree. I think this season is great! Whatever, I am known to blindly follow shows I love. But I do think it'd be tough for anyone to come up with new material after such a huge mystery is solved, and I think they've done a good job. Although I won't disagree that duncan should maybe fuck off.

Finally a new episode!

I think Britt Daniels is on tonight's episode.

lemin (lemin), Thursday, 26 January 2006 14:57 (twenty years ago)

serious though, this episode was only marginally better than that one where her boyfriend randomly turned into an amphetamine junkie and ran away - and that one was easily the worst of the show. they could've taken this plotline in better directions, i think.

lemin (lemin), Thursday, 26 January 2006 15:25 (twenty years ago)

This show is running out of gas.

polyphonic (polyphonic), Thursday, 26 January 2006 19:28 (twenty years ago)

Eh. None of it made any sense, it felt like we skipped an episode (where they actually discussed the baby, Wallace explained why he came back, etc. etc.) and then they get into a tortured ordeal that makes no sense at all - he's the biological father, he could easily have sought a DNA test; why wasn't Veronica arrested at the end? Even with the blonde girl 'playing' Veronica at the apartment, they still had loads of evidence she was involved.

Erick Dampier is better than Shaq (miloaukerman), Monday, 30 January 2006 05:13 (twenty years ago)

Whatever you do, don't read the TWOP boards re last weeks' show--my head is still swimming. Vernoica still does it for me.

Mary (Mary), Monday, 30 January 2006 05:31 (twenty years ago)

I bought the first season box set, it won't arrive till February the 14th though. Haven't seen season one in such a long time.

jeffrey (johnson), Monday, 30 January 2006 20:34 (twenty years ago)

What happened last night? My TV went out after the first 5 minutes and came back for the final 5 minutes. It seemed really boring anyway. I hate Wallace.

Mary (Mary), Thursday, 2 February 2006 19:33 (twenty years ago)

Beyond the obvious reasons not to read TWOP, why was it especially avoidable last week?

c(''c) (Leee), Thursday, 2 February 2006 20:13 (twenty years ago)

Everyone just went batshit over all the holes in the storyline.

Mary (Mary), Thursday, 2 February 2006 20:15 (twenty years ago)

High school baller phenom Rashard Rucker hit and run, Wallace rats him out, in turn gets spun around by Svengali Uncle Rucker who accuses Wallace of being behind the wheel, W enlists V, try to track down White Castle drive through guy who saw Rashard behind the wheel at the window, drive through guy's disappeared though, V&W think Uncle has paid off the guy.
Rashard is in SoCal to scope out UCLA and white chicks, V finds out he'll be making an appearance at a frat party, W confronts him, turns out Jackie is there and she tells off W, takes R to a club. Uncle can't find R at the party, he and W go to the club, where IT TURNS OUT THE BOUNCER IS THAT DEPUTY THAT V TALKED TO IN THE PREVIOUS EPISODE WHO'D LET HER GET IN FOR FREE. So when Uncle goes into club, he has to check his cellphone first, and the bouncer swaps it with another one, and hands the real phone to V who runs all the recent numbers and they find out where that White Castle drive through guy is, W's bio dad busts in and finds the dope with 50 large in a black bag.

aww man, did I miss all the Ding Dong Duncan Is Gone fun?
Stupid TiVo.

willpie (willpie), Thursday, 2 February 2006 21:32 (twenty years ago)

see, last night's episode was a LOT better. i mean, it's nowhere near the best moments of the series, but hey, after last week's ep, i'll take what i can get

lemin (lemin), Thursday, 2 February 2006 23:29 (twenty years ago)

OMG, britt daniel of spoon was in it!

maria tessa sciarrino (theoreticalgirl), Thursday, 2 February 2006 23:38 (twenty years ago)

I'm in the middle of rewatching the first series at the minute, and I noticed something interesting (and a bit depressing if you thought that all the secret society stuff was rubbish). Someone mentioned how he had a dead rat nailed to his door when he pissed the society off. Either the writers forgot they'd used the idea before, or it's going to turn out to be them behind the bud crash (or at least, they'll be the main suspects towards the end of the series, before there's a twist and it turns out to be someone else). There were some lingering shots on last night's episode of the sheriff's office logo, on the computer wallpaper and the door, with the secret society trident on it too.

Cressida Breem (neruokruokruokne?), Friday, 3 February 2006 00:08 (twenty years ago)

yeah, last weeks episode is the first time I kind of felt DISAPPOINTED. Still haven't watched last night yet, though.

gunther heartymeal (keckles), Friday, 3 February 2006 02:47 (twenty years ago)

Last week was bad, but the absolute nadir thus far had to be the 12 Angry Men episode.

Erick Dampier is better than Shaq (miloaukerman), Friday, 3 February 2006 03:02 (twenty years ago)

i did not hate last weeks episode at all but i did hate the 12 angry men.

jeffrey (johnson), Friday, 3 February 2006 21:47 (twenty years ago)

three weeks pass...
I just finished season 1, and have decided not to watch season 2. Mainly because I really enjoyed season 1's mystery, but feel no desire to keep watching the show. Especially after reading the comments on this thread about season 2.

Anyhow, can someone tell me who's at her door when she opens it at the end of season 1? My assumption is that it's Duncan.

josh in sf (stfu kthx), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 06:52 (twenty years ago)

It's the Loganmeister.

Season 2 is getting really good but it took sitting through a bunch of mediocre episodes to get to this point.

polyphonic (polyphonic), Wednesday, 1 March 2006 07:34 (twenty years ago)

revive for new episodes.

not much to add.

Sterling Clover (s_clover), Thursday, 16 March 2006 04:51 (twenty years ago)

this episode was boring except that logan's new catch is ccccyuuute.

polyphonic (polyphonic), Thursday, 16 March 2006 06:43 (twenty years ago)

Ugh, what happened to this show.

Melissa W (Melissa W), Thursday, 16 March 2006 06:47 (twenty years ago)

yeah, I don't know if it's all the reruns the past few weeks or what, but I feel like this season has lost a lot of momentum, I was on the edge of my seat every week for the first half of the season. usually by halfway through the episodes, like tonight, I end up a little invested in it or seeing some strong scenes, but I'm not sure if the show is falling off or it's just me.

Alex in Baltimore (Alex in Baltimore), Thursday, 16 March 2006 09:41 (twenty years ago)

The supporting cast keeps changing too much.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Thursday, 16 March 2006 15:00 (twenty years ago)

the logan trial stuff is v. cool tho. however i thought the twist in the outing thing was k-lame.

Sterling Clover (s_clover), Thursday, 16 March 2006 15:21 (twenty years ago)

I was more disappointed by the explosives-in-the-hangar reveal: c'mon, if it wasn't the Real Killer trying to frame Terrence then surely it was Lamb? It's still too early for such a smoking gun, so to speak.

I thought this episode was fine, a good looking up after a rough patch. I've felt the same way as Alex, about the loss of momentum, but I think it's just in the mysteries of the week, and the terrible WHAT ABOUT THE BABY? subplot, which is thankfully (hopefully) finished. The bus crash & Logan stuff are still working for me.
