this was a satisfactory closer/prelude but i did miss a bit of littlefinger craftiness somewhat

as epically cringe as the daenerys scene was this show knows damn well they can get away with anything if it ends with a dragon flying @ u face screeching

In that case I am glad they didn't try to get away with a whole penis chopping off scene because that technique would have made the experience even more horrifying and also confusing.

Got to have the dungeons, if you want the dragons. GRRM, he doesn't make the rules.

Barristan Selmy? That's probably got something to do with his being pitched as a legendary ideal of nobility and heroism unfairly cast aside by King Cnut.

There was a fear from Jorah that he knew that he was spying on Dany for a time.

He's so dumpy I still have trouble buying that he is some legendary warrior. Blackfish is much more believable as a badass old guy warrior.

boring little 1 on 1s are also a finale tradition and they're always my favorite, esp when they're reflecting/navel-gazey/not directly talking about the big storylines/sort of how real people talk

and god, the robb/head scene is a million times worse when i remember he's only like 14 in the books. the red wedding too, but especially that, barf

there was that point in the red wedding where he's standing in the middle and just looking at walder frey and basically going "UH. UH." like tina from bob's burgers with that look in his eyes and i couldn't stop thinking FOURTEEN YEARS OOOOOLD

Yeah but with them all one after another it deflated the (potential) momentum I'd been hoping for in the finale. Though I'm aware we all needed a rest after the red wedding arguably... except I was looking for a little more resulting chaos.

tbh i'm cool with the second to last episode containing the climax and the last episode acting as an actual come-down conclusion, everyone's just used to the jj abrams "finale has to be super exciting and end on a major cliffhanger" method
