Would take getting another quick 150 and having a bowl tonight maybe.

fred out. no 600
― The User Formerly Known As Pfunkboy Latterly Known as.. (Herman G. Neuname), Monday, 16 February 2009 17:04 (seventeen years ago)
no 500
Pitch doing crazy stuff though!
― zero learnt from nero (Neil S), Monday, 16 February 2009 17:05 (seventeen years ago)
If england dont get 500-600 theres less pressure on WI batting, esp if the openers fire.
― The User Formerly Known As Pfunkboy Latterly Known as.. (Herman G. Neuname), Monday, 16 February 2009 17:05 (seventeen years ago)
Nah only taylor is making it do stuff. Would you trust Harmison to have that effect? I bet jimmy gets the new ball ahead of him
― The User Formerly Known As Pfunkboy Latterly Known as.. (Herman G. Neuname), Monday, 16 February 2009 17:06 (seventeen years ago)
Actually Harmison might be particularly effective on this pitch I think. Obv remains to be seen though...
― zero learnt from nero (Neil S), Monday, 16 February 2009 17:16 (seventeen years ago)
He cant be trusted though, I do think he's worth persevering with as he isn't as bad as he was last year BUT it's not like he does the odd amazing test match followed by bad ones. He has tended to be bad or bowled ok but not getting loads of wickets. Jimmy does do the hot n cold thing to a tee mind you. Cant see Broad bowling a team out (maybe in a few years)
― The User Formerly Known As Pfunkboy Latterly Known as.. (Herman G. Neuname), Monday, 16 February 2009 17:26 (seventeen years ago)
if colly is out here then umpires are a joke. ball hit ground 1st
― The User Formerly Known As Pfunkboy Latterly Known as.. (Herman G. Neuname), Monday, 16 February 2009 18:20 (seventeen years ago)
not out. good decision.

fifa/uefa take note
er it was pretty fkn blatant from the first replay that it hit the ground, i'd discredit the 3rd umpire for wasting 3 minutes of play

Anyone remember Wayne Phillips getting out by hitting the ball into allan lambs boot and gower taking the catch at short leg in 1985?
― The User Formerly Known As Pfunkboy Latterly Known as.. (Herman G. Neuname), Monday, 16 February 2009 18:26 (seventeen years ago)
Excellent century by Colly. 3rd in 9 innings since he came back fron being dropped last year. He had to work hard as fidel edwards and jerome taylor had some terrific fiery spells on a pitch that has kept low at times.
― The User Formerly Known As Pfunkboy Latterly Known as.. (Herman G. Neuname), Monday, 16 February 2009 20:07 (seventeen years ago)
Now to score as quickly as they can and get 10-12 overs in tonight.

Athers and Beefy want 14/15
FFS how did the umpire miss that thick edge? Useless cunt.

I cant think of any. It's something that noone seems to do now. I wonder if it really did happen back in ye olde days.
― The User Formerly Known As Pfunkboy Latterly Known as.. (Herman G. Neuname), Tuesday, 17 February 2009 15:24 (seventeen years ago)
It did. Hardly ever though. I'm sure I saw someone do this in the last few years.

Gilchrist walked regularly.

If Monty did it, LJ would probably accuse him of bring thick.
― The User Formerly Known As Pfunkboy Latterly Known as.. (Herman G. Neuname), Tuesday, 17 February 2009 15:28 (seventeen years ago)
I imagine it would be OK for Gilchrist to do it, I'm sure if almost anybody else tried it they'd get a right bollocking
― Vitbe Is Good Bread (Tom D.), Tuesday, 17 February 2009 15:30 (seventeen years ago)
Fred has injury problems and has gone off after no training today, not bowling early on and now only 4 overs in his spell, Harmison had to leave the field after being sick afte 4 overs. Not what you need when you have to get 20 wkts to square the series.

I think Yuvraj Singh walked recently.

Happy Birthday to Ryan Hinds, who should have been given out first ball. Equally, though, a reprieve is deserved by a man born on this finest of days.

Gilchrist and Lara were both walkers
― Ismael Klata, Tuesday, 17 February 2009 16:17 (seventeen years ago)
haha bob willis just said both umpires are not very good and swann needs to appeal more like Monty, as swann didn't appeal for one that was actually a stonewall lbw.

You mean other than England's performance in the Stanford 20-20 Super Series final?
― Vitbe Is Good Bread (Tom D.), Tuesday, 17 February 2009 17:29 (seventeen years ago)
Harmison bowling fairly well atm beating the bat a few times. 86 mph which i think is the speed where he bowls best. But so far the west indies look like getting past the follow on. If they do that, they have a very good chance of not losing the series. Now as I say this harmison looking as if he is gonna be ill again. No sign of fred bowling. Think Broad is probably gonna get a bowl next replacing Harmison next over. Harmy looks ill.

cant afford to be without harmison or fred but certainly not both. WI must fancy getting a draw now.
Harmison off the field. Looks really ill. Fred's on but not the usual fiery fred. He's struggling. Hip injury apparently.
