I don't think i understand exactly how reddit works. The site seems unwieldy and annoying to navigate and I've never managed to stay there for more than ten seconds without being annoyed.

Nations are going to be dissolved by the internet anyways, don't need no secret conspiracy to do that.

One thing that kind of makes me IA is when people write out something that they could easily type out, and pose for it a la the above image.

Reddit is a place where nerdy people are looking for acceptance from other nerdy people and the actual percentage of people that actually buy merch like that purely for their own amusement is likely extremely low.

I'm not a knee-jerk reddit hater like most of the people on here, so that wasn't the point.

The Nicholas Cage thing is an example because it is done so often it is many times not-so-funny.

Usually it is someone just throwing his face onto a shirt randomly and at this point the popularity of the phenomenon has made it so it is no longer fresh absurdist humor and is merely the equivalent of relying on quoting popular movies at parties to get attention.

And this applies to the lifecycle of most things on reddit, like zelda shields or rage comic faces etc.

And yeah, that imgur link is funny because, while being literally about tacking on a picture of Nicholas Cage to something, the context of the situation makes it hilarious.
