Evan, Monday, 3 June 2013 17:23 (thirteen years ago)

Haha, I recall "scene kids" being cursed up and down on the Relapse Records forum ten years ago.
Being a smalltown Norwegian I knew nothing directly of this world, but my mental image was of a moshpit full of whitebelted teenagers practicing tae bo.

Øystein, Monday, 3 June 2013 17:44 (thirteen years ago)

See, I have heard the phrase "scene kids" before, but just presumed it was a more generic term kids who were regulars on any available scene. People who go to the same clubs a lot.

how's life, Monday, 3 June 2013 18:04 (thirteen years ago)

ppl still call themselves scene kids? it's such a... makeoutclub kind of term.

Pretty certain most Native Americans did live by the rules of their society...

Much as the Native Americans were run off their land, I was "run off" my job at Denny's

I don't think you can become Native American through pure courage alone.

Moodles, Tuesday, 4 June 2013 16:51 (thirteen years ago)

The truer version is:

"People may wish deep down that they had the 'courage' to be different like you, but the reality is that they're happier and better adjusted than you and wouldn't actually enjoy it."

That rose thing above reminds me of one of my many shameful internet enthusiasms. On a different forum I had a period where I kept adding images from http://www.glitter-graphics.com/ at the end of my posts. Every time I browsed the site for something to add, I'd laugh out loud and have just a wonderful time for myself. I don't think anyone else found it remotely amusing. Such is my experience with internet chatz in general ;_;

this popped up in my feed, which made me aware of the page Marijuana MAKES You Violent which is so amazing to me right now

that seems more like a parody

Marijuana MAKES You Violent
It is reported that even after an addict dies of either an overdose, suicide, heart attack or murder, they still can kill from the grave. In fact, one out of every four embalmers die just a few days after attempting to prepare a cannabis riddled corpse for their funeral. The dormant ganja sludge in the toker's body gets on the innocent mortician's hands and infects them, even through their sterile equipment.

The same goes for crematorium technicians. As soon as they light up an addict's remains in the incinerator, a vile and noxious THC gas emanates from the charred carcass, plagues the room and penetrates even the most powerful of gas masks. It only takes one milligram of marijuana corpse dust to choke a person to death. These poor people are just attempting to do their jobs and show respect for the dead, but they themselves fall victims to the violence of marijuana fiends. When will this THC treachery stop?

Mordy , Wednesday, 5 June 2013 13:50 (thirteen years ago)
