Every pizza thread on every chat board i've been on (and folks, i've been on them all ;) ) there's always the moment when the pizzafuckers arrive. Welcome sir!

waterface, Friday, 24 May 2013 21:35 (eleven years ago) link

Those balls of corruption got no place on pizzas, that is horrible. Pineapple is fine !

Damo Suzuki's Parrot, Friday, 24 May 2013 21:36 (eleven years ago) link

in my experience green onions are not slimy, etc. on pizza - they're not cooked before hand, just tossed on raw, so they dry out, get a little singed maybe - very flavorful

is there meat somewhere on that egg pizza?

j., Friday, 24 May 2013 21:40 (eleven years ago) link

i love leeks on pizza -- just the white part, finely chopped

leno dunham (get bent), Friday, 24 May 2013 21:47 (eleven years ago) link

the greenish-white part, not the white-white part.

leno dunham (get bent), Friday, 24 May 2013 21:48 (eleven years ago) link

oh damn i'd so love a florentine pizza right now

r|t|c, Friday, 24 May 2013 22:15 (eleven years ago) link

I had an awesome pizza with leeks on it too. Need to start cooking more with leeks. leeks leeks leeks

whoever made that egg pizza should have a drone sent to their house and a photograph of their respective head of state grinning, thumbs aloft, next to the charred remains of their house printed on their tombstone.

brimstead, Friday, 24 May 2013 22:25 (eleven years ago) link

That's what I was talking about upthread, the runny egg on top of the pizza! I had this in Bordeaux and it's great, I swear to God.

pineapple pizza is not my favorite, i mean it's ok. actively gross the morning after though. congealed cheese skin shrinking away from semi-solid yellow lump holes.

lagoon why really man why.

do you guys think it's settled in a puddle of urine or that its stained the water with its runoff?

dylannn, Saturday, 25 May 2013 05:28 (eleven years ago) link

i've had lots of solid japanese pizza.

there was this place i used to go... looked sort of like a toned down olive garden, red white checked tablecloths under plexiglass. the pizza was over the top pizza hut japan innovations dignified by an east asian ideal of authentic italian. my go-to was, blistered crust light on cheese, mayo + tuna + potato. i think mayonnaise on pizzas is tremendous.

I had rly awesome pizza in Brussels once

Cool but rude

the moist patch of dough that you find under the pineapple on a pizza is the gastronomic equivalent of lying down on the damp patch after sex

dschinghis kraan (NickB), Saturday, 25 May 2013 15:29 (eleven years ago) link

That's why pineapple goes on top.

i think mayonnaise on pizzas is tremendous.

Never in my lifetime did I ever think I would read this sentence.

Mayonnaise makes sense on flammekueches but not on pizzas, no.

Van Horn Street, Saturday, 25 May 2013 16:10 (eleven years ago) link

was gonna write "disgusting savages," but it's already a poll choice and therefore accurate of anyone who likes this abomination.

kewpie mayo on everything

is this some british thing where the pineapple goes under the tomato sauce or something?

how's life, Saturday, 25 May 2013 16:57 (eleven years ago) link

a friend of mine has a genuine hatred of mixing fruit in with anything (the sweet and sour world).
raisins in curries, pineapples on pizza etc.
i never thought about the whole concept of this until he ranted at me for an hour re the sheer evilness of such a thing.
personally, ham + pineapple pizza = perfection ...

mark e, Saturday, 25 May 2013 17:00 (eleven years ago) link

xp no - every pizza with pineapple I've seen in the UK has had the pineapple added on top as the last ingredient

go cray cray on my lobster soufflé (snoball), Saturday, 25 May 2013 17:04 (eleven years ago) link

pineapple does tend to displace everything beaneath it though ime
