there are more recent posts on that thread than on Odd Future or Lana del Rey when those hit, and both of those threads involved serious arguments.

and yeah, i do live in a kind of bubble, but i've heard more people talking about the upcoming David Tudor box set than daft punk whatever.

the main argument is whether the album is for the olds, and whether it is a good album. some believe it is good for all people, some believe it is only for the olds, and some say it is bad regardless.

also, neither odd future nor lana del rey have the following or history of daft punk as they have been making music for quite some time

also it had a massive and (some would say) expertly crafted hype campaign

its also a really weird and amazing album and has a lot more to talk about than lana del ray or odd future, and the rest of the internet is probably talking more about it than either of those albums at the time
