So I thought our best corporate partnership of the year was when we hooked up with Sunseeker Yachts. Or when we got an official watch partner. BUT THEN:

Former Everton boss Howard Kendall believes Goodison Park favourite Duncan Ferguson would be "perfect" to succeed David Moyes as the team's next manager.

Reckon he'd do ok in France.
This from the Metro:
"Following the Gunners’ 4-1 victory over Wigan last night, should Arsene Wenger’s side beat Newcastle 2-1 on Sunday and the Blues draw 0-0 with Everton at Stamford Bridge, that would leave the two London rivals tied on points (73), goal difference (35) and goals scored (73).
Under Premier League rules, if qualification for a competition cannot be determined by points, goal difference or goals scored, the sides involved must play each other one or two times at a neutral venue.
Seeing as third place decides who qualifies automatically for a Champions League place next season, Arsenal and Chelsea would fall into this category, creating a scheduling nightmare for Premier League chiefs."
Is this true? If so, it is ridiculous they don't use additional criteria like away goals, attempts on goal etc. They could even include the clubs' respective disciplinary records.

The 'one or two times' in that quote is one fuzzy piece of drafting. Does it then go on '...at football, or maybe some other sport, idk'?

I can't see how it's a scheduling nightmare to add a huge money spinning Champs League play-off derby to the end of a season.

Tours will be pre-season, it wouldn't be too difficult to add a week onto this season and sell out Wembley at ££££s a ticket.

OK, I've been looking into this. Basically we need Chelsea v Everton to finish 8-8 and Arsenal to beat Newcastle 10-9. Meanwhile Spurs would have to beat Sunderland 16-0 and hope that the FA award them a bonus point for achieving such an outstanding victory.

According to a SportsDirect.com source, "low-level conversations have already been held between Newcastle and Rooney's agent, though the two clubs haven't spoken directly yet."The source also said: "Newcastle see Wayne as their ideal player. He's a strong centre-forward, would relate to the fans and would be a massive boost to the club's brand name."

― Matt DC, Thursday, 16 May 2013 11:39 (thirteen years ago)
i saw that too and thought it was typical fantastical nonsense. it would be interesting if he came to england, then all the big Asturian footballers (Villa, Cazorla, Mata, Michu even though he doesn't have a cap) would be playing the premier league.
― mizzell, Thursday, 16 May 2013 13:28 (thirteen years ago)
No cap for Michu is ridiculous, even with the depth and quality of the competition. If bloody Franco Di Santo is getting picked for Argentina, y'know?

― Number None, Thursday, 16 May 2013 13:42 (thirteen years ago)
Point stands afaic, competition for places in the Argentina attack is ludicrous, of a similar level to that in the Spanish side.
I'm not saying that Michu should be a regular or anything, but no cap at all is pish
― Windsor Davies, Thursday, 16 May 2013 13:42 (thirteen years ago)
Michu isn't *that* good. I mean, he is very good but he's not good enough to displace any of Spain's attacking midfielders and the only reason a cap would be justified would be a major injury crisis. I mean he'd walk into the England team but that's because lol England.
