tiger balls of steel

The first one was puzzling, because you'd think someone tied for the lead would overclub before they'd ever underclub; the second was baffling, because he hit the wedge again. (Was the third one a wedge or a 9-iron? If it was another wedge, I guess that mitigates the first two shots somewhat.)

I won't be able to see the finish today, but I guess I'll root for Phil--that'd be the best story, I think.

clemenza, Sunday, 16 June 2013 16:04 (thirteen years ago)

wow last group doesn't tee off until 3:20

lipitor retriever (brownie), Sunday, 16 June 2013 17:26 (thirteen years ago)

lipitor retriever (brownie), Sunday, 16 June 2013 20:06 (thirteen years ago)

Quite like Donald, but feel it'll be neither him nor Phil (though i wouldn't mind if he finally won it) that wins.

xyzzzz__, Sunday, 16 June 2013 20:07 (thirteen years ago)

yea if i had 2 take someone now id be thinking schwartzel or phil prob

johnny crunch, Sunday, 16 June 2013 20:12 (thirteen years ago)

Day at 14-1 looked good value before it started. Can't tell if I'm annoyed I didn't back him.

johnny crunch, Sunday, 16 June 2013 21:39 (thirteen years ago)

johnny crunch, Sunday, 16 June 2013 21:56 (thirteen years ago)

johnny crunch, Sunday, 16 June 2013 22:08 (thirteen years ago)

this is a fuckin horrorshow

johnny crunch, Sunday, 16 June 2013 22:27 (thirteen years ago)

the 18th seems a bit ridiculous, kinda like they just decided to call a par 5 a par 4. i find that a bit irritating.

Shamrock Shoe (LocalGarda), Sunday, 16 June 2013 22:41 (thirteen years ago)

pitching off the green hm ok, gotta gouge into the course there phil

johnny crunch, Sunday, 16 June 2013 22:49 (thirteen years ago)

i wish i'd kept track of how many golfers have ever been called one of the most likable guys on the tour

call all destroyer, Sunday, 16 June 2013 23:11 (thirteen years ago)

that back pin placement is gonna make phil birdying this like the second coming of ben hogan

johnny crunch, Sunday, 16 June 2013 23:18 (thirteen years ago)

so not gonna happen

call all destroyer, Sunday, 16 June 2013 23:24 (thirteen years ago)

the fact that he got that on-line w the pin is impressive

johnny crunch, Sunday, 16 June 2013 23:24 (thirteen years ago)

this would be a cool scene, if there was at all a possibility of this

johnny crunch, Sunday, 16 June 2013 23:27 (thirteen years ago)

justin rose, checking out the history of this flat screen tv

johnny crunch, Sunday, 16 June 2013 23:28 (thirteen years ago)

well, that was, if not enjoyable, an experience of some kind.

call all destroyer, Sunday, 16 June 2013 23:42 (thirteen years ago)

Didn't love this course one bit. Not surprised there was a 32 year gap between majors at Merion.

Ⓓⓡ. (Johnny Fever), Sunday, 16 June 2013 23:43 (thirteen years ago)

i love the intimacy and quirks of the course but it was just murdering everyone
