yeah why is it when you go to someone's house and they offer you drinx andf you say water they look at you like you've told them to stick their hospitality up their arse? do humans not drink water anymore?

bob zemko (bob), Wednesday, 20 November 2002 21:33 (twenty-three years ago)

In some languages, "water" actually does mean "stick your hospitality up your ass".

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 20 November 2002 21:35 (twenty-three years ago)

it's worse to go to someone's house and ask them for something to drink and they say "we've got water ..." but you know there's better stuff in the fridge that they're saving for themselves.

fields of salmon (fieldsofsalmon), Wednesday, 20 November 2002 21:43 (twenty-three years ago)

I too am not a fan of soda AT ALL but am strangely in love with vanilla coke. Am curious to try it hot with rum. Wish they had a no-caffeine version.

teeny (teeny), Wednesday, 20 November 2002 22:54 (twenty-three years ago)

Funny this is coming up today, as a co-worker brought in cans of diet Vanilla Coke for us to try. I was surprised to find I liked it, especially as I HATED Vanilla Coke regular - too sickeningly sweet. Still, cherry is the only flavor Coke's gotten 100% right so far.

mike a (mike a), Wednesday, 20 November 2002 22:55 (twenty-three years ago)

Vanilla Coke is on sale everywhere in Australia. It's okay, but I prefer normal Coke by a long shot. Coke w/ lemon is absolutely vile. Yech.

Andrew (enneff), Thursday, 21 November 2002 00:07 (twenty-three years ago)

i take back my orignal statement.
vanilla coke and vodka = bad
coke and vanilla vodka (stoli) = GOOD!

chaki (chaki), Thursday, 21 November 2002 00:11 (twenty-three years ago)

mark s (mark s), Thursday, 21 November 2002 00:12 (twenty-three years ago)

So much wasted energy on all of this rubbish...

OCP (OCP), Thursday, 21 November 2002 14:23 (twenty-three years ago)

Vanilla Coke=yum. One thing about sodas is that the better the water is in the region that they were bottled in, the better they are. I still can't get over how good the Cokes in North Carolina tasted. (Lots of iron in water=double yum.)

Christine "Green Leafy Dragon" Indigo (cindigo), Thursday, 21 November 2002 15:20 (twenty-three years ago)

My girlfriend is a certified vanilla coke addict. It's a little too sweet for me, but diet vanilla coke definitely does the trick.

Jordan (Jordan), Friday, 22 November 2002 05:03 (twenty-three years ago)

I couldn't even taste the coke in coke with lemon, the lemon just took over completely and it was really bad. Vanilla coke is just too sweet. I liked the first bottle I had but got sick of it quickly. I just wish they would bring cherry coke back to NZ I miss it so much.

Diet Vanilla Coke is officially good for hangover-curing. I'm enjoying the curiously emphatic label as well:

Low Calorie Soft Drink with Vegetable Extracts with Vanilla Flavour with Sweeteners

However, given that I already had a cup of coffee this morning, the cumulative caffeine in my system is now making my heart beat a bit too fast and the paranoia is just starting to kick in.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 14:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Coke / Vanilla = bad.

Tesco's Coke / vanilla = OK, actually.

mark grout (mark grout), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 14:23 (twenty-two years ago)

i went off it and haven't had any in ages despite still drinking around 2 cans of regular a day on average

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 14:24 (twenty-two years ago)

Can't be doing with regular colas, but with sickly flavours, I'm in like flint. Oooooooh dodgy imported Cherry Coke that my favourite filthy chicken emporium gives you with a Value Box Meal, how I adore you!

Liz :x (Liz :x), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 14:33 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't have it that often either, but the diet version is still my favorite soda.

Jordan (Jordan), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 14:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Diet Vanilla Coke?!? It sounds horrendous. My boyfriend stopped drinking it a while ago but now occasionally drinks it.

Curt1s Stephens, Saturday, 19 May 2007 19:49 (nineteen years ago)

They'd better bring it out here again too. Coke zero = blech

stet, Saturday, 19 May 2007 19:59 (nineteen years ago)

According to wikipedia (FWIW) they say as of May they are distributing it all over the U.S. Rest of world: cross fingers across water & sky.

Abbott, Saturday, 19 May 2007 20:01 (nineteen years ago)

this is good news, i liked vanilla coke

although rum nearly ruined it for me

the sir weeze, Saturday, 19 May 2007 20:04 (nineteen years ago)

I think it has just vanished from Belgian shops. It's all Regular, Light and (especially the last couple of months) Zero over here. (I don't think the coffee-influenced Blak is/ever has been very available either)

StanM, Saturday, 19 May 2007 20:07 (nineteen years ago)

vanilla coke + vodka = yum

since they took away vanilla coke here people often ask for Smirnoff Vanilla with regular coke

splates, Sunday, 20 May 2007 02:10 (nineteen years ago)

o shit i have vodka and i am going to store NOW

Catsupppppppppppppp dude ‫茄蕃‪, Sunday, 20 May 2007 02:42 (nineteen years ago)

Vanilla Coke hasn't stopped being available in Australia.

FYI

SeekAltRoute, Sunday, 20 May 2007 03:45 (nineteen years ago)

Vanilla coke is pretty terrible. It's like drinking sugary cola, which is bad enough already, but to this they have added just a kiss of nasty.

kenan, Sunday, 20 May 2007 03:49 (nineteen years ago)

YOU'RE pretty terrible!

haitch, Sunday, 20 May 2007 12:28 (nineteen years ago)

I HAVE BEEN ZINGED, AND I LOVE IT!

kenan, Sunday, 20 May 2007 12:37 (nineteen years ago)

srsly tho, some combo of coke + vanilla + vodka was my summer drink of choice and I heartily recommend it to all.

haitch, Sunday, 20 May 2007 12:42 (nineteen years ago)

i drank vanilla coke once. tasted exactly like regular coke to me. maybe i should quit smoking

, Sunday, 20 May 2007 13:05 (nineteen years ago)

I will give a case of Vanilla Coke to whoever starts my fucking lawnmower.

Beth Parker, Sunday, 20 May 2007 15:05 (nineteen years ago)

Gravel Puzzleworth, Sunday, 20 May 2007 17:05 (nineteen years ago)

Their cherry coke now has the same typeface WhOa WaCkY iT's ChErRy shit going on.

According to WIKI:
On February 7th, 2007, Coca-Cola officially launched its new campaign for the Cherry Coke Brand. Jay-Z was chosen to be the spokesmen, and played a part in designing the new can graphics.

!!!

Abbott, Sunday, 20 May 2007 17:11 (nineteen years ago)

I haven't seen a Vanilla Coke out in the wild in years, and I live in the southern US where Coke is everywhere all the time.

markers, Friday, 23 August 2013 17:30 (twelve years ago)

Vanilla Coke - the only two words you need to include in your "calling out of work sick" email

Z S, Friday, 30 August 2013 00:26 (twelve years ago)

why don't you like it?

markers, Friday, 30 August 2013 00:40 (twelve years ago)

me and vanilla coke had an incident

Z S, Friday, 30 August 2013 00:58 (twelve years ago)

haven't been on speaking terms for a number of years. the incident concerned this time when it made me barf. purposefully or not, i'll never really know vanilla coke's intentions, because it decided to just stop speaking to me out of nowhere. well two can play that game, vanilla coke, two can play that pathetic game.

Z S, Friday, 30 August 2013 00:59 (twelve years ago)

how mean of it to do that to you

markers, Friday, 30 August 2013 01:03 (twelve years ago)

don't let one bad apple ruin the whole product for you

markers, Friday, 30 August 2013 01:04 (twelve years ago)

huh markers i thought you had gone on sabbatical

So hot in Herrenvolk (Nilmar Honorato da Silva), Friday, 30 August 2013 01:04 (twelve years ago)
