Agree, except the Bizarros actually existed and were from NE Ohio,
You're thinking of the Bizarros US, not the Bizarros UK. Get your facts right. ;-)

hey a bunch of wiseacres were misleading you on this question, the 'snl' acronym stands for 'saturday night live'. in case you forget and this post gets lost, you can always check the name of this thread to remind you.

Ian Rubbish was hanging around the Vampire Weekend AmEx Streamed Concert Steve Buscemi thing.

has snl been this bad all season?
― Mordy, Sunday, 5 May 2013 04:37 (thirteen years ago)
this is one of the better episodes of the season :-(
or at least not actively painful.
― stefon taylor swiftboat (s.clover), Sunday, 5 May 2013 04:40 (thirteen years ago)
but i feel pain
― Mordy, Sunday, 5 May 2013 04:42 (thirteen years ago)
I missed several of them but this is on par. I've actually turned it off.
Earlier there was a repeat of the Jennifer Lawrence episode and turned it on to the Danielle (Emmanuelle) sketch and I'm still convinced that was gold.

― Mordy, Sunday, 5 May 2013 04:44 (thirteen years ago)
icelandic mumords
― Gukbe, Sunday, 5 May 2013 04:45 (thirteen years ago)
ok the video editing gag paid off.
― stefon taylor swiftboat (s.clover), Sunday, 5 May 2013 05:00 (thirteen years ago)
Yeah, loved that a whole lot more once we got to see the result.
ZG in general isn't as funny to me now as maybe ten years or even five years ago. Overexposure? I dunno. But he just the same things over and over at this point, sometimes funny and sometimes painful.
― Johnny Fever, Sunday, 5 May 2013 06:17 (thirteen years ago)
Does he still do standup at all? Yeah, it was kinda standard ZG shit tonight, but it also felt like he was kind of rusty.
Serious Jack Black, Shitty Bjork and the 6,000 Surviving Maniacs?

The Mother's Day flower commercial was probably the only funny skit tonight. Kristen Wiig hosted and Vampire Weekend were the musical guests. I'm with Lex in disliking Vampire Weekend's "Diane Young" song and its gimmicky vocals. Their second number was better.
― curmudgeon, Sunday, 12 May 2013 05:11 (thirteen years ago)
I guess the opening Benghazi panel skit with Jodi Arias had some funny moments.
― curmudgeon, Sunday, 12 May 2013 05:15 (thirteen years ago)
I'd wager that Kate McKinnon is probably gonna be Kristin Wiig Famous one day, if not more.
― Whiney G. Weingarten, Sunday, 12 May 2013 05:16 (thirteen years ago)
I liked the korean (japanese would be more appropriate I think) ghost mom skit. Otherwise pretty underwhelming.
― dan selzer, Sunday, 12 May 2013 05:18 (thirteen years ago)
That was good--it was a fake Disney channel show.
― curmudgeon, Sunday, 12 May 2013 05:33 (thirteen years ago)
why does anybody watch this show
― 乒乓, Sunday, 12 May 2013 16:30 (thirteen years ago)
3 hours for half a laugh
― 乒乓, Sunday, 12 May 2013 16:31 (thirteen years ago)
i guess you get 2 vampire weekend songs tho
Three hours must be what they show in the Eastern Time Zone.
― pplains, Sunday, 12 May 2013 16:32 (thirteen years ago)
The Mother's Day commercial confirmed my belief that Kate McKinnon is Julia Sweeney with better impressions.
― i, norbit (jaymc), Sunday, 12 May 2013 16:42 (thirteen years ago)
i liked the acupuncture skit because it was really stupid and not very well executed. the only thing i really enjoy about this show these days is its ramshackle charm, how it is often barely funnier than my college's improv troupe. this is why i rarely watch it.

Weekend Update was at least B+
― Beatrix Kiddo (Raymond Cummings), Sunday, 12 May 2013 21:19 (thirteen years ago)
Dancers in the last skit were killing me
But overall this show is losing its way something terrible
― Beatrix Kiddo (Raymond Cummings), Sunday, 12 May 2013 21:38 (thirteen years ago)
Even with Zach's terrible show you had the editing bit that was pretty major lolz. This episode was unfunny through and through, and worth it only for VW tunes. Wiig had some great bits, but none of them were her recurring characters.
― Gukbe, Sunday, 12 May 2013 23:59 (thirteen years ago)
at this point they're about the quality of the sketches from studio 60 on the sunset strip...

x-post - who will take over Weekend Update when he takes over Fallon's old spot
― curmudgeon, Monday, 13 May 2013 14:03 (thirteen years ago)
I'm gonna guess John Mulaney.
― Whiney G. Weingarten, Monday, 13 May 2013 14:05 (thirteen years ago)
it seems logical to me that nbc spiked mulaney's pilot because they knew they were moving seth to fallon's spot, thus needed to promote mulaney at snl
― J0rdan S., Monday, 13 May 2013 14:11 (thirteen years ago)
He's only been on Update a couple of times right? Never seemed very comfortable on camera to me.
― mizzell, Monday, 13 May 2013 14:13 (thirteen years ago)
they'll need a new head writer too!

yeah i never understood why people seem eager for Mulaney to get an on-camera gig, he doesn't really seem built for it
― seanpennderizer (some dude), Monday, 13 May 2013 14:42 (thirteen years ago)
his stand up is good i think even if the bent is a bit obvious
