I'm curious if there has been any talk of Brad Guzan leaving Villa if they go down? It's been discussed over here a bit since he's still the US #2 and has finally managed to pin down a starting role.

Haven't seen anything Dan, but he'd definitely be worth a punt. Villa bods will know better than me, but I reckon he's been fairly impressive this year notwithstanding everything.

That said, imo Villa are a rare example of the relegated side you don't leave, with Lambert in charge and their squads of child genii bubbling under. I could see them charging through the championship and clinching promotion by Valentine's Day, especially if it bunches up like it has this year. Either that or they'll get kicked around weekly and hire O'Neill back, idk.

It's pretty difficult to prove that a leg-breaking tackle was deliberate and bad tackles are something that always happen in the course of a game. It's a stupid comparison

the word of an ex-player in the determination of 'intent' to hurt another player is as little to be regarded as the notion of 'intent' to begin with- cf our thread on the tackle and us all p. much agreeing that when you're hurtling towards another another player with the likelihood of doing harm then fk an 'intent'

but that's besides this, suarez obv getting done for so blatantly refusing to keep his nose clean after last year's heavy scenes
