email is easy just get messages and reply to them, why does everyone have to make such a big complicated mess of this

zero dark (s1ocki), Monday, 15 April 2013 18:09 (thirteen years ago)

don't use mailbox

markers, Monday, 15 April 2013 18:10 (thirteen years ago)

Gmail app has been fast and reliable IME. It would be nice if it would snooze emails.

also like if you get in the flow of using mailbox then what do you do when youre using gmail webmail there is no scheduling option there

You can use Boomerang for scheduling when using Gmail on your computer.

Dr. Adorbius (mh), Monday, 15 April 2013 18:51 (thirteen years ago)

乒乓, Monday, 15 April 2013 18:52 (thirteen years ago)

markers, Monday, 15 April 2013 19:01 (thirteen years ago)

I was very excited about Mailbox but am underwhelmed and deleted it.

The Great Forgiver (dandydonweiner), Monday, 15 April 2013 19:42 (thirteen years ago)

gmail app looks real nice and plays nicer w/ gmail than mail app does but dang is it slow and annoying, mailbox is way better

max, Monday, 15 April 2013 22:23 (thirteen years ago)

'mail' is fast true but it looks dumb now after i got used to gmail

乒乓, Monday, 15 April 2013 22:24 (thirteen years ago)

support pencil thin sans serif fonts against pure white backgrounds for everything

乒乓, Monday, 15 April 2013 22:25 (thirteen years ago)

mail.app is useless at searching inboxes

ice cr?mated (Autumn Almanac), Monday, 15 April 2013 22:27 (thirteen years ago)

Mail has lost more than one draft of mine in dodgy network conditions. Still, it's better than the "you'll always have network" Gmail app

stet, Monday, 15 April 2013 22:35 (thirteen years ago)

Sparrow is still pretty rad

Dr. Adorbius (mh), Monday, 15 April 2013 22:50 (thirteen years ago)

i wouldn't feel comfortable using it knowing the company was acquired

markers, Tuesday, 16 April 2013 01:44 (thirteen years ago)

While we’ll be working on new things at Google, we will continue to make Sparrow available and provide support for our users.

markers, Tuesday, 16 April 2013 01:45 (thirteen years ago)

it's better than the gmail app! and it's... owned by the same people!

Dr. Adorbius (mh), Tuesday, 16 April 2013 01:46 (thirteen years ago)

dom leca sold out, give in to the only real mail client on ios

markers, Tuesday, 16 April 2013 01:47 (thirteen years ago)

Mail?

Because Mailbox is owned by Dropbox

Dr. Adorbius (mh), Tuesday, 16 April 2013 01:49 (thirteen years ago)

yeah mail

markers, Tuesday, 16 April 2013 01:50 (thirteen years ago)

mail suxxx

Dr. Adorbius (mh), Tuesday, 16 April 2013 01:50 (thirteen years ago)

that's what i use. but then again i'm crazy and use @me for my email. i have a gmail account but it just sits there. if i were still on gmail i'd use google's gmail app

markers, Tuesday, 16 April 2013 01:50 (thirteen years ago)

please don't tell me you're all on fantastical too

markers, Tuesday, 16 April 2013 01:51 (thirteen years ago)

markers, Tuesday, 16 April 2013 01:51 (thirteen years ago)

the last post on sparrow's blog is their acquistion post

markers, Tuesday, 16 April 2013 01:52 (thirteen years ago)

let's take bets whether or not this will be another posterous sitch where they keep it around for a bit until they don't

markers, Tuesday, 16 April 2013 01:52 (thirteen years ago)

then again i think friendfeed is still up

markers, Tuesday, 16 April 2013 01:53 (thirteen years ago)

http://friendfeed.com

markers, Tuesday, 16 April 2013 01:54 (thirteen years ago)

wonder what the future of the mailbox gmail relationship is

lag∞n, Tuesday, 16 April 2013 01:54 (thirteen years ago)

fantastical is pretty good!

my most used iPhone apps are:
- Chrome
- Twitterrific
- Pocket
- facebook
- Zing
- Scratch
- KitCam
- Kindle
- Mailbox

Dr. Adorbius (mh), Tuesday, 16 April 2013 01:55 (thirteen years ago)

oh yeah, and Fantastical and Google Maps

you aren't using Apple's new Maps, are you

Dr. Adorbius (mh), Tuesday, 16 April 2013 01:57 (thirteen years ago)

well i just have an ipad, not an iphone, so the navigation component isn't a big deal to me right now. when i mess around with maps on the device though, it's apple maps.

when i borrowed a family member's iphone to get somewhere i think i used apple maps though. lol

markers, Tuesday, 16 April 2013 02:06 (thirteen years ago)

instapaper is good but really datefd

Dr. Adorbius (mh), Tuesday, 16 April 2013 02:06 (thirteen years ago)

I mean, there are apps that do that shit better now. Check out Pocket!

Dr. Adorbius (mh), Tuesday, 16 April 2013 02:07 (thirteen years ago)

for whatever reason i've never used pocket. i'm a marco fan though.

markers, Tuesday, 16 April 2013 02:11 (thirteen years ago)

honestly markers, some people who like to blog are good software developers but that's not really a good correlation

Dr. Adorbius (mh), Tuesday, 16 April 2013 02:12 (thirteen years ago)

how often do you run into problems with pocket?

markers, Tuesday, 16 April 2013 02:13 (thirteen years ago)

i'd also be interested in hearing why you think instapaper is dated

markers, Tuesday, 16 April 2013 02:14 (thirteen years ago)

it's true that it seems like he's not devoting much time to improving it now that he's got the magazine. the last major revision was fall 2011

markers, Tuesday, 16 April 2013 02:14 (thirteen years ago)

pleco, skritter, evernote, mail (ugh), zing, riposte, tweetbot, foursquare, patter, reeder, icab, pocket weather, google, google maps

ice cr?mated (Autumn Almanac), Tuesday, 16 April 2013 02:16 (thirteen years ago)

instapaper is about to get a major update (and new app, therefore new fee)

ice cr?mated (Autumn Almanac), Tuesday, 16 April 2013 02:18 (thirteen years ago)

where did you see that?

markers, Tuesday, 16 April 2013 02:19 (thirteen years ago)

marco

ice cr?mated (Autumn Almanac), Tuesday, 16 April 2013 02:21 (thirteen years ago)

i follow him on twitter, read his blog, and listen to his podcast, and i hadn't heard that
