maroon that is. I like "rich" deep colours especially worn together, that dark red wine, brown, dark green...

give us some xmas present clothes stories!

spectra, Wednesday, 25 December 2002 03:40 (twenty-three years ago)

Blue Levis, black and grey merrel slip-ons, black and grey half-zip sweatsuit-like shirt. Man, I always have the same stuff on when this thread rises. I need a new wardrobe.

That Girl (thatgirl), Wednesday, 25 December 2002 07:19 (twenty-three years ago)

over-the-knee, flat-heeled, black leather boots, black tights, a red Stewart tartan wool skirt slashed so it's sluttily mid-thigh on the left side and frumpily below the knee on the right side (Mary picked that out), a tight black Mooks cotton shirt, usual stainless metal-band watch and chunky silver bracelet, a band-aid where I cut my thumb taking a new Christofle knife out of its plastic bag, and -- best of all -- my Xmas present from my mother: a homemade crocheted muffler that's made from granny squares of all different colors.

Yes, I am the Christmas trollop!

felicity (felicity), Wednesday, 25 December 2002 23:32 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm in me PJ's

rainy (rainy), Wednesday, 25 December 2002 23:35 (twenty-three years ago)

blue Uniqlo jeans that were a bargain price of five pounds, argyle socks and an Evisu t-shirt from Bangkok that isn't really Evisu probably.

chris (chris), Thursday, 26 December 2002 00:37 (twenty-three years ago)

Brown beatle boots, argyle socks, khaki's, vertical striped dress shirt, wool sweater over shirt.

Chris V. (Chris V), Thursday, 26 December 2002 16:54 (twenty-three years ago)

i can't picture a stewart tartan, but i know over the knee black boots, YOW!! ;-)

ron (ron), Thursday, 26 December 2002 18:20 (twenty-three years ago)

that's correct ron, you've met before.

felicity (felicity), Thursday, 26 December 2002 19:46 (twenty-three years ago)

pyjama pants (plaid), a sports bra. central heating in my place is waaaay too much. and little silver hoop earrings i never take off and a fabulously cool necklace i got for christmas. however slovenly i may look, i'm always wearing jewelry, anyway...

i looked nice yesterday, i even wore shoes. for a little while.

i got a kickass cool watchcap-type winter hat for christmas...knit, soft, in all sorts of funky colors. and a sweater. oatmeal-beigy color. eh, but not horrific anyway.

some of the people i was visiting for xmas were giving each other ridiculously perverted t-shirts. example: t shirt with an image of a young boy riding on an elephant's trunk. with quite a bit of trunk extended straight out between the boy's legs. ahem.

JuliaA (j_bdules), Thursday, 26 December 2002 19:47 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm still in the same PJ's

rainy (rainy), Thursday, 26 December 2002 19:58 (twenty-three years ago)

I am also in Rainy's PJs.

nabisco (nabisco), Thursday, 26 December 2002 20:20 (twenty-three years ago)

Hmmm.. Related to the What I got for Xmas thread...

I'm at work, but at least I've got some cool clothes.
Wearing a black turtleneck that has precious little buttons on the sleeves. Plaid (black/grey) skirt that is very very soft. Black hose. Black Cole Haan shoes (only thing that's not new).

Accessories: silver watch & new silver bracelet.

And lots of private things.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Thursday, 26 December 2002 20:20 (twenty-three years ago)

two weeks pass...
White button-down shirt with thin tan stripes under tan v-neck sweater (collar out), "vintage" Levis overly-flared jeans, gray dress socks and newly-polished black shoes (I think Kenneth Cole?), brown leather belt, silver bracelet my aunt gave me that I haven't taken off in two and a half years now, and most importantly my Casio Telememo30 watch, which fell off while I was sleeping weeks ago and then I couldn't find it and couldn't find it and I kept thinking about getting a new watch but deciding that would be silly, because surely the Telememo30 was somewhere in or around my bed, and then yesterday viola, there it was, under the other pillow. Tomorrow: if I wake up early enough then white t-shirt, charcoal wool v-neck sweater, charcoal wool blazer, and whichever pair of jeans I didn't drop tartar sauce on in the car the other day.

I'm reviving this thread because I'm having a clothing crisis: nearly everything I usually wear has worn or frayed or stretched or faded or just started to look incredibly silly to me, and I want you all to stimulate whichever part of my brain will help me go out and replace basically half a wardrobe.

nabisco (nabisco), Tuesday, 14 January 2003 07:21 (twenty-three years ago)

I am wearing black slacks, a long-sleeve ribbed grey top, and an unbuttoned denim shirt. Black socks, black shoes.

Jody Beth Rosen (Jody Beth Rosen), Tuesday, 14 January 2003 07:33 (twenty-three years ago)

This may be the first time I've ever had this thread come up in new answers when browsing from work. So: black suit (or possibly charcoal, who cares), black lace-up shoes, black socks, white shirt, darkish red tie. This is pretty much what I wear to work every day (though the ties, all dark red, and the suits, all dark grey, do vary a touch).

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Tuesday, 14 January 2003 13:37 (twenty-three years ago)

White socks.

man, Tuesday, 14 January 2003 13:38 (twenty-three years ago)

black polo neck, black jeans, black socks, sky blue t shirt, white adidas shelltoes with reflective blue stripes, gold watch (bling).

Ronan (Ronan), Tuesday, 14 January 2003 13:39 (twenty-three years ago)

I am bemused as to why I continue to fill this thread in, but it draws me. Blue denim mini-skirt, maroon vest top. I am waiting for body lotion to sink in and hair to dry a bit before getting properly dressed and going to the newsagent. (Pure thrills my life).

Anna (Anna), Tuesday, 14 January 2003 14:34 (twenty-three years ago)

A v-necked short sleeved kind of jumperish top which starts lightish violet and the top and fades down to vvv dark violet at the bottom, black trousers, burgundy boots, GREEN SOX but no-one can see them underneath the boots haha and a yellow hair bobble around my wrist. My underwear is all white today!

I am trying to look smartish because I am having Ministerial drinks today!

Sarah (starry), Tuesday, 14 January 2003 14:37 (twenty-three years ago)

Black pencil skirt, cream silk top, black tights, black court shoes. The heels are far too high really. It's not as though I need to try and look any taller. One pair of small diamond stud earrings. Gold chain with pendant in the shape of my name in Chinese characters. Two gold rings (one a diamond, one a black pearl). Black leather Mickey Mouse watch. Clear nail polish. Diorella perfume. A smile.

C J (C J), Tuesday, 14 January 2003 14:39 (twenty-three years ago)

faded diesel jeans, once cream but now v dirty puma trainers, v light brown t-shirt. oh, and black boxer shorts + socks.

toby (tsg20), Tuesday, 14 January 2003 14:43 (twenty-three years ago)

I knew it was CJ from catching sight of 'Diorella perfume' as I was scrolling. I have no idea why it was such an obvious conection.

Anna (Anna), Tuesday, 14 January 2003 15:17 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm wearing my "tool" costume, viz, Barney's brown and cream tiny stripe double-breasted skirt suit c. 1994, brown Clergerie pumps and my new fave thing, a phat gold chain that I just picked up at the Chelsea flea market. It has always been my dream to wear a big honking gold chain like a baseball player. My dreams have come true.

felicity (felicity), Tuesday, 14 January 2003 15:29 (twenty-three years ago)

Flannel pyjama bottoms (white with pink roses) and a pink bathrobe.
Girly AND lazy.

Genevieve, Tuesday, 14 January 2003 15:31 (twenty-three years ago)

Pajamas

rosemary (rosemary), Tuesday, 14 January 2003 15:39 (twenty-three years ago)

How strange, Anna! Maybe I have said before that I like Diorella, and you just remembered it. It's definitely my favourite - I hardly ever wear anything different (= boring and predictable no doubt).

C J (C J), Tuesday, 14 January 2003 15:42 (twenty-three years ago)

Green sweater covering black Swervedriver shirt, olive green pants, my trusty black Reeboks. Yay.

j.lu (j.lu), Tuesday, 14 January 2003 21:09 (twenty-three years ago)

I thought people wouldn't want to hear about my underwear. No, more accurate phrasing: I thought people very much wanted not to hear about my underwear.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Tuesday, 14 January 2003 21:14 (twenty-three years ago)

I hardly ever wear anything different (= boring and predictable no doubt).

I have worn Mitsouko by Guerlian every day for nearly six years. Friends always give me clothes back on account of the fact that going round smelling of me all day keeps reminding them to give it back/ induces severe guilt.

Anna (Anna), Tuesday, 14 January 2003 23:42 (twenty-three years ago)
