"The first day I worked with Jose Bosingwa, I went home, got my dictionary, tippexed out the definition for 'hero' and wrote his name in there instead. Because that is the kind of man he is."

William Bloody Swygart, Saturday, 13 April 2013 19:17 (thirteen years ago)

I know recounting dreams is always boring but I just remembered that I dreamt of Harry Redknapp accidentally reviving some town-sized reptile monster and Obama authorising a nuclear strike. Me and Lee Gamble, we weren't happy about getting nuked let me tell you that. Nice diverse set of cultural references at least.

r|t|c, Saturday, 13 April 2013 21:33 (thirteen years ago)

i recently dreamt that i was inexplicably visiting a hideously gauche new home that dennis wise was building out of two semi detached houses he was knocking together a couple of streets down from me. on my way out i caught sight of my estranged father who was (lol oneirobigotry) apparently part of the building crew enjoying a well earned cuppa

issues, man

yeah that was special

Number None, Saturday, 13 April 2013 22:42 (thirteen years ago)

won't be as remarked upon as your Bales and your Suarezesses but it was way more cynical

Number None, Saturday, 13 April 2013 22:43 (thirteen years ago)

Amazing from Steven Taylor there, even if it was a penalty. Must take some bottle to put your head in front of a guy's shoe as he's about to leather the ball towards goal

Windsor Davies, Sunday, 14 April 2013 11:20 (thirteen years ago)

Could see that the moment they let him cut in

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 14 April 2013 12:34 (thirteen years ago)

PDC is quite likeable tbh (except for the fascist thing obv)

Di Canio knows how to celebrate for sure.

fun loving and xtremely tolrant (Billy Dods), Sunday, 14 April 2013 12:43 (thirteen years ago)

Interviewed him when he was at West Ham and he was a brilliant interviewee. Then got sounded out about doing his autobiography and was excited about it. Didn't get it, and once I read it, was very glad I didn't get it.

Trans-Europe Stopping Train (ithappens), Sunday, 14 April 2013 12:45 (thirteen years ago)

Sunderland fans giving it some, I imagine they've been saving it up all season

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 14 April 2013 12:48 (thirteen years ago)

di canio is a disgusting savage

sonderangerbot, Sunday, 14 April 2013 12:57 (thirteen years ago)

aw no he's not

Winningest franchise club of the day (imago), Sunday, 14 April 2013 12:57 (thirteen years ago)

Could somebody gif the third please, I missed it

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 14 April 2013 13:08 (thirteen years ago)

that offside given against newcastle's goal is a stonewall betting syndicate job, the lino couldnt have seen it any clearer

r|t|c, Sunday, 14 April 2013 13:54 (thirteen years ago)

RVP couldn't have been much happier about that goal

BBC 'Witch' Song (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Sunday, 14 April 2013 14:31 (thirteen years ago)

tad vulgar i thought

Number None, Sunday, 14 April 2013 15:01 (thirteen years ago)

just been catching up with those di canio celebrations, fair play to the guy, i like him in spite of myself.

still, on strictly official terms, for all the obvious reasons, fuck paolo di canio and sunderland afc up the fucking wazoo, as hard as fucking possible, all day long

CUNTSSS

also i hope alain pardieu gets run over by an omnibus

Windsor Davies, Sunday, 14 April 2013 17:30 (thirteen years ago)

Stoke are going down, I'm calling it.

Matt DC, Sunday, 14 April 2013 17:34 (thirteen years ago)

Stoke worst form in the division since Jan 1 so

life went on, sadly (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 14 April 2013 17:36 (thirteen years ago)

don't jinx it

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 14 April 2013 17:36 (thirteen years ago)

They're only playing (theoretically) relegation threatened teams plus Spurs until the end of the season and I can see QPR, Norwich, Sunderland and Southampton all beating them, or churning out a turgid 0-0 at the very least.

Matt DC, Sunday, 14 April 2013 17:39 (thirteen years ago)

Don't think Villa are one of the three worst teams in the division, but I honestly don't believe that even Stoke or Sunderland have a self-destruct sequence hard-wired into their DNA quite like we do. I mean, I'm quite fond of the lads Baker and Bennett, but crikey if they dont look capable of costing us when it matters most in every single game. I'm banking on those games against Sunderland and Wigan now, it's all in our hands

Windsor Davies, Sunday, 14 April 2013 17:40 (thirteen years ago)

Wow Stoke have only managed to beat Reading in 2013. That's it.

Matt DC, Sunday, 14 April 2013 17:42 (thirteen years ago)

and everybody beats Reading

Ismael Klata, Sunday, 14 April 2013 17:46 (thirteen years ago)

Lazy Liverpool zing there.

Troughton-masked Replicant (aldo), Sunday, 14 April 2013 18:45 (thirteen years ago)

Stephen Taylor is a fucking nasty piece of work.

privilege as 'me me me' (darraghmac), Sunday, 14 April 2013 21:38 (thirteen years ago)

Let them whinge about that offside like they shouldnt have been a man down and facing a penalty early in the game.

privilege as 'me me me' (darraghmac), Sunday, 14 April 2013 21:40 (thirteen years ago)

Jesus three peach goals tho

nakh iirc yr unconvinced by sessegnon. looks a player to me tbh.

privilege as 'me me me' (darraghmac), Sunday, 14 April 2013 21:42 (thirteen years ago)

sunderland looking alright now sessegnon especially

― Nilmar Honorato da Silva, Saturday, 8 December 2012 15:30 (4 months ago)

this is the only reference i have made to him, also whatever game that happened to be was seemingly the only time this season prior to today sunderland managed to be alright

Nilmar Honorato da Silva, Sunday, 14 April 2013 21:47 (thirteen years ago)

Sessegnon is inconsistent. He can look like one the best players outside the top six on his day but it hasn't happened much this year. Adam Johnson is still crap, despite his customary wonder goal every few months

Number None, Sunday, 14 April 2013 23:25 (thirteen years ago)

the gowls are not what they seem (darraghmac), Monday, 15 April 2013 22:24 (thirteen years ago)

di canio so far: unfortunate loss to european champions, 3-0 away win at hated rivals

saints have been phenomenal - the EPL finally has its Villareal (if Swansea weren't already - but Soton appear to have more grit)

Winningest franchise club of the day (imago), Monday, 15 April 2013 22:26 (thirteen years ago)

Match of the Day 2 showed us that the reaction to Paolo has already passed from MASSIVELY CONTROVERSIAL FIGURE to QUITE A CHARACTER INNEE.
