what a finish by Vertonghen!
― mizzell, Saturday, 30 March 2013 15:09 (thirteen years ago)
This is why I love Vertonghen. Ace.
― Le Bateau Ivre, Saturday, 30 March 2013 15:13 (thirteen years ago)
and a terrible finish by Adebayor wastes a glorious Dembele pass.
― mizzell, Saturday, 30 March 2013 15:13 (thirteen years ago)
I'm coming round to your way of thinking on this one LG. Must be worth a flutter?
― the company of wome (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Saturday, 30 March 2013 15:14 (thirteen years ago)
Drop Adebayor, stick Vertonghen upfront IMO.
― Matt DC, Saturday, 30 March 2013 15:15 (thirteen years ago)
SkyBet offering a generous 1/750 btw, which is slightly better than you'd get by putting it in the bank
― Ismael Klata, Saturday, 30 March 2013 15:19 (thirteen years ago)
1-0 saints, jrod with a beaut
― jabba hands, Saturday, 30 March 2013 15:25 (thirteen years ago)
Swansea are certainly playing in a manner commensurate with having won the Carling Cup

rickie lambert, i love you
― jabba hands, Saturday, 30 March 2013 15:38 (thirteen years ago)
ugh, tevez just a touch quicker than jonas on that goalnewcastle playing defensive whole first half right now
― 30 percent off all gold everything at Trinidad James Avery (m bison), Saturday, 30 March 2013 15:45 (thirteen years ago)
We look a lot better with Lennon in the team, just more balanced all round
― Matt DC, Saturday, 30 March 2013 15:48 (thirteen years ago)
true. fullbacks are spurs greatest weakness i think. Naughton was beaten or out of position a dozen times the first half.
― mizzell, Saturday, 30 March 2013 15:54 (thirteen years ago)
oh also having a striker as low on confidence as Adebayor is a great weakness.
― mizzell, Saturday, 30 March 2013 15:55 (thirteen years ago)
Sup with spurs pls
― mister borges (darraghmac), Saturday, 30 March 2013 15:55 (thirteen years ago)
up 2 nil. dominated first 30 minutes, Swansea then came into it and hit the bar with a point blank header.
― mizzell, Saturday, 30 March 2013 15:56 (thirteen years ago)
Xp agreed about the fullbacks, im not convinced theyre adding enough at either end on either side. Adebayor is a writeoff. And a cunt.
― mister borges (darraghmac), Saturday, 30 March 2013 15:57 (thirteen years ago)
both goals were great. Vertonghen and Bale with a goal and an assist each.
― mizzell, Saturday, 30 March 2013 15:57 (thirteen years ago)
We have a much better LB on the bench.
That Rickie Lambert free kick was mumm-ra.

so, who finishes 18th??
― jabba hands, Saturday, 30 March 2013 17:06 (thirteen years ago)
Sunderland.
― Gukbe, Saturday, 30 March 2013 17:07 (thirteen years ago)
That's who I hope takes the downward plunge.
― EZ Snappin, Saturday, 30 March 2013 17:09 (thirteen years ago)
Sunderland with no goalscorer for the rest of the season might just edge it
― quite strangly im attracted to the lass (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 30 March 2013 17:12 (thirteen years ago)
also Rafa is still lol
Would Ricky van Wolfswinkel have a clause that his signing to Norwich is cancelled when Norwich go down?
― Le Bateau Ivre, Saturday, 30 March 2013 17:15 (thirteen years ago)
He's going to Norwich cos it's Norwich, he doesn't care what division they're in. You don't say no to Norwich. I'd be surprised if they're even paying him tbh.
― Ismael Klata, Saturday, 30 March 2013 17:23 (thirteen years ago)
Oh yeah, I forgot. "Norwich has always been my dream club" etc.
― Le Bateau Ivre, Saturday, 30 March 2013 17:24 (thirteen years ago)
I like to think it's the shared history of flat, reclaimed land and Freisian cows that attracted him to Norfolk.

Is this actually Van Persie or a Pro Evo rendition of him?
― Matt DC, Saturday, 30 March 2013 18:00 (thirteen years ago)
Norwich are easily good enough for this not to be an issue.
Still think it'll be Villa who go down of that lot. Sunderland are capable of grinding out enough dire 1-0 wins or goalless draws to be safe as well I think, although they're on a really bad run of form. As are Stoke actually, although they've probably done enough. Newcastle and Wigan always have a couple of back-to-back wins in them.
― Matt DC, Saturday, 30 March 2013 18:49 (thirteen years ago)
but villa Have Momentum and Have Turned A Corner no?

“There are two Grant Holts. There’s Grant Holt, the footballer for Norwich City and Grant Holt the dad. The dad comes first and always will. I do what’s right for the girls. My wife’s been away from Carlisle a lot. When I went to Singapore to play for four months, she came with me. I was 19 and she was 17. We had a fantastic time, went to Kuala Lumpur and little islands, ate a lot of rice."

― jabba hands, Saturday, 30 March 2013 20:26 (thirteen years ago)
O'Neill out
― Le Bateau Ivre, Saturday, 30 March 2013 21:34 (thirteen years ago)
#lovedmyrice etc.
I know that if Rickie does ever crack the England squad, it'll probably end in massive disappointment, but I still really want it to happen.
― William Bloody Swygart, Saturday, 30 March 2013 21:35 (thirteen years ago)
i think Holty has an actual point about the narrowing of the England gene pool, can't imagine going back to the heady days when Steve Bull cd get 4 caps before being ruthlessly discarded by some daft sod

― quite strangly im attracted to the lass (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 30 March 2013 21:55 (thirteen years ago)
McLeish, though - it'd be like a neutron star acquiring critical mass

― quite strangly im attracted to the lass (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 30 March 2013 22:03 (thirteen years ago)
All seriousness it's probably di Canio but the thought of Eck going in and deciding what Sunderland really need is, say, Andy Johnson and four new centre-halves is tickling me.
― William Bloody Swygart, Saturday, 30 March 2013 22:19 (thirteen years ago)

The return of the conquering hero, Steve Bruce
― Ismael Klata, Saturday, 30 March 2013 22:23 (thirteen years ago)
We can all broadly agree, though, that what they really need is someone to boost their squad size to about 53 players before complaining that the board isn't backing him.
Paul Jewell's available, isn't he?
