Ideas for ILX

i would like to be able to see my bookmarks list on my iphone so i can revive older threads on the go... is that a feature? i haven't been able to figure it out if it is

That's not in the app, no. No reason it couldn't be someday, though

i don't really know where to put this and it's not really an idea for ilx but i switched to keith's newold css thingy and i'm getting quite used to it. actually, i quite like it. it's the first stylesheet that hasn't sent me back running to old.css. i just have one slight quibble: for threads longer than 100 posts, the whole "skipping x messages" is barely different from the rest of the text, so when you're quickly going down the page you miss it. and for words in quotes, the ' is written over the first letter of what's being quoted so you can't really see it.

I will never stray from keith.css. I don't see how you can read ILX without the highlighted div's.

Did the hollow bullets for threads you've read get turned off?

(I seem to remember this happened once before and there was a reason for it but I'm not finding any posts about it with a quick google so eh)

OK, never mind, they just got reset, as happens fairly often, and I am being too tired and dumm to notice that my threadkilling spree is insufficient to make the newly-visited ones hollow

Well, yes. There's that. Me too. But I have a hunch that if were easy, or even just moderately difficult, it would have been done ages ago.

My ilx email address stopped working several years back. I am such a hermit it hasn't exactly cramped my style to be unreachable unless someone started a thread with ATTENTION AIMLESS in the title, but there have been a couple of times I know ilxors have tried and failed to send me email.

when "like" reaches over a threshold, it goes automatically onto "the" excelsior thread. it would improve the consistency of the excelsior thread i reckon.

also if there can be a button to enable a "page view" mode. so you can see only 100 posts or something but with a

1 | 2 | 3 | ... | 9 | 10 | last

link to navigate through the pages? it should not be the default option to use, but would help say when trying to find a specific post that the search function doesn't find (e.g. if it doesn't contain a particularly searchable word)

or maybe a "find in this thread" option..

Hey I was just thinking it would be nice if when you searched, the page would tell you not just when the threads were started but when the last post was. That way, for example, if there are three threads on ILM about a certain band that just put out a new album, you can see which one people might have been talking about the new album on.
