there is some workaround that people use to see who unfollowed them but i dont think twitter itself tells people when somebody unfollows them

weird workaround technology gave us that wonderful elif batuman/guy who writes books about american apparel interaction

if you wanna be incognito, you can add ppl to a private list instead of following them, then just look at the list instead of yr timeline

twitter is real good in terms of the limits/dynamics of personal interaction, imo. i struggle with that kinda thing elsewhere but it is a v nice way to communicate with people. @goole. FAO goole. @ilx.

it's still pretty hilarious to me how favstars founders are probably making millions of dollars and wasting so much of twitter's resources through its bots crawling twitter over a feature that twitter engineers could add to twitter with like 5 lines of code

I can't cope with most of the weird twitteratti. i usually unfollow anyone who starts tweeting 50+ times a day. I loved reading through those classic tweet comics though, this was a good one:
