long story short:When you do a google image search, click on “Search tools” below the search box, then select "animated” under the “Any type” dropdown box. There's also a “Transparent” option under the “Any color” dropdown box for clean c+p jobs.

thanks! yeah, i was pretty bummed because i had to reduce the quality of the top one so much to get it to fit onto tumblr (had to delete 2/3 of the frames - the hand used to wave the picture-in-picture all over the cityscape instead of just over the top part - and make everything look really lossy)
