i'm halfway to quitting it because this just leads to headaches and/or aforementioned randoms. i'm being a bit prissy about it i guess.

I've started getting former school mates bringing the "AIN'T SIN YOU FOR AGES" to what was previously a contended quip-trading circle-jerk between a bunch of people I already spend a lot of time with. It's all turning from gold into shit.

there seem to be some odd features on facebook which I can envisage as being ILE threads, like the foodfight option. AFAIK, there has never been an ILE thread called "this is the thread where we have a food fight" but it's being realised by ilxors on facebook as I type (and w/ pics of the food handily provided so you don't have to faff around searching for 'em on google images).

Yeah, exactly. My coworkers, who are "ready to embrace social networking" because their big librarian conference told them to do so, probably wouldn't be hip to the fact that's it's an obvious joke.

But, the major bonus of having coworkers on FB, is that I can be wasting excessive amounts of time on it, but if someone walks by and sees my screen, they'll think, "oh! it's work-related! she's networking like all the kids do!"

(NB: there is a major age gap between me and my officemates)
