that mascot/fergie pic has the look of fan fiction about it. like two lovers.
call me crazy, but i think liverpool could stand to keep suarez for another year.
― Tioc Norris (LocalGarda), Saturday, 2 March 2013 18:48 (thirteen years ago)
GET INVOLVED
Herschelle Labahn: "Who ever said RVP was better than Suarez? Eat your heart out."
Jordan: "Suarez can play. Liverpool will struggle to keep hold of him in the summer!"
Andy Wilson: "Alcaraz to come on for Wigan. And the way this match is going, Martinez might imprison his players to Alcatraz for a week..."
― Nilmar Honorato da Silva, Saturday, 2 March 2013 18:49 (thirteen years ago)
Nilmar on alternative proprietary content delivery platform "If that's getting involved, I'd hate to see what getting UNvolved is like LOL AMIRITE M8S :-)"

it's bobbled there as the cross comes in, to be fair, but really you have to finish those at this level.

is suarez now better than torres was at his peak? he's certainly looking like he'll score more this year than the latter's highest tally.
― Tioc Norris (LocalGarda), Saturday, 2 March 2013 19:19 (thirteen years ago)
Idk is he as deadly, they're different enough types of player. He's as important to a worse liverpool team, but tough to say how it works out.
Like, i'm not sure that bale in current form beats peak berbatov or modric at what they did iykwim
― poll that whitey music pfunkboy (darraghmac), Saturday, 2 March 2013 19:23 (thirteen years ago)
yeah i seem to have fonder memories of torres in his lethal heyday but suarez has the better all round game and is more central to team play
― r|t|c, Saturday, 2 March 2013 19:27 (thirteen years ago)

Aw, hell:
The world’s biggest ever bid for a football club, dwarfing the £800 million paid by the Glazers for Manchester United, will be backed by funds from Qatar and the United Arab Emirates. The group do not want their identities made public yet but a bid source told Telegraph Sport the intention is to buy out Arsenal’s American owner, Stan Kroenke, whose perceived weak stewardship of the club has also been called into question by frustrated supporter groups. The cash offer, which is more than twice the amount at which Arsenal were valued two years ago, will be for 100 per cent of the club, and if successful would wipe out debts that stand at around £250 million according to the last full year’s financial results.

― r|t|c, Saturday, 2 March 2013 22:48 (thirteen years ago)
I'm sceptical about this xp. Would the ultrarich really trail their bid like this, especially when what this would be is a private deal with basically two guys? I hope it's just some blowhard, I like clubs that aren't like other clubs. We don't need a respectable Man City. Also, I've got a kind of future emotional stake in a postapocalypse Arsenal bestriding the rump epl wasteland whenever it finally goes tits up; justice demands it.
On the other hand, could there be any clearer signal of the end of the boom than a stupidly inflated bid for Arsenal, of all clubs? It'd be the Empire State Building of takeovers.
― Ismael Klata, Saturday, 2 March 2013 22:55 (thirteen years ago)
"when did you ever stop thinking Arsenal were the last of the big clubs" etc
― Troughton-masked Replicant (aldo), Saturday, 2 March 2013 22:59 (thirteen years ago)
Wouldn't be surprised if Usmanov was involved in some way. Sold $500m of tech shares yesterday and knows Kroenke is reluctant to sell to him directly.

That has the ring of plausibility to it
― Ismael Klata, Saturday, 2 March 2013 23:07 (thirteen years ago)
Racism and cuntishness aside, I would take this season's Suarez over Torres at his peak. Torres was terrifying in his best seasons at Liverpool but Suarez just has so much more to his game, which might also give him more longevity.
― Matt DC, Saturday, 2 March 2013 23:09 (thirteen years ago)
How many times have Fulham worn that kit with the brown and white diagonal stripes? That's lovely.
― Matt DC, Saturday, 2 March 2013 23:23 (thirteen years ago)
suarez is like nothing i've ever seen at anfield. genuinely believe he'd enhance any side in the world.
― So: The Answers (or something), Saturday, 2 March 2013 23:30 (thirteen years ago)
Even Barca would be improved with Suarez in the team.

Delicious pass-agg-off between Pulis and Allardyce there.
― William Bloody Swygart, Saturday, 2 March 2013 23:45 (thirteen years ago)
He's got skills on the ball like nobody else in the epl, lets not go fuckin crazy tho.
― poll that whitey music pfunkboy (darraghmac), Saturday, 2 March 2013 23:46 (thirteen years ago)
Pulis or Allardyce?
― Matt DC, Sunday, 3 March 2013 00:04 (thirteen years ago)
Yeah this is why I asked really. Suarez's "work rate" tho deserves a better term. He fights harder than Torres ever did, tho Torres's magic seemed to come in two or three touches and from nowhere.
Suarez's involvement in games is just way higher. It'll be a miracle if he's still at Liverpool next season.
― Tioc Norris (LocalGarda), Sunday, 3 March 2013 03:49 (thirteen years ago)
somebody on the radio yesterday said that Torres conversion rate this season is 1 goal per 7 chances and Suarez's is 1 in 8. if that's true it just goes to show what bollocks bare stats can be.
